The whole team is wonderful, but Alexis really stands out for how well she treats both pets and their owners. She’s patient, skilled, and genuinely cares about every animal she sees. Jun 28, 2025 · Brianna FrancoI have been a client of friarsgate for 28+years. Dr Mundell and his staff have always treated my animals like their own. Over 15 animals they have treated in the past years to the zoo we have now of 12. They have always gone beyond for my family. My adult children have grown up seeing the care Dr Mundell , Dr Steve and the past 11 years Dr Hurst have been there for us, every wellness visit, emergency visit and sadly loses over the years. My adult children trust them as well driving almost 45 mins just for their dogs and cats to there to be taken care of. I can not say enough the appreciate the Elledge family feels for this group. From Carolyn at the front desk, who has always been there for an emergency or crazy thing one of our dogs have gotten in, to the techs, too many to list, to Heather the office mgr has been there to help and advice. Dr Mundel is my primary doctor, but Dr Steve and Dr Hurst have always shown our family the same care, genuine care and trust . You cant go wrong with any of these 3. Just as a side note. If you see Dr Mundel ask him if it is ok to feed potatoes to your dogs. Lol. Inside joke with our family and him. Again I have referred so many people to them and those people have coming back telling me thank you. Truly they are old school, really care and you are not a number to them BUT a real person that loves your pet.
Jun 20, 2025 · M CHands down the warmest and welcoming facility I've ever visited. I traveled from Florence to have my kitten examined. I officially made Dr. Baire my kitten's doctor. I could tell she and Jordan genuinely love animals, to include my fury baby!
Jul 03, 2025 · a PrincessThis place was terrible for my dogs spay surgery. Highly regret going.I got my dog spayed here and the day of the surgery they tell me my dog’s bloodwork shows the possibility of a heart condition and they recommend x-rays which will cost extra. I ask “if she has it, will she still get spayed?”, the answer was yes… okay why didn’t we talk about this earlier, if not to scare me into getting it done for extra money (of course, she didn’t have the condition). Okay whatever, maybe it is good to know but felt like they wasted my time and money doing this day of and scaring me into it.Well then I return for a rescheduled surgery on a Thursday and never got to meet the vet doing the procedure. The next day (friday) my dog’s stitches are clearly not doing well and of course, the vet had left for the weekend so I have no choice but to take her into an emergency vet.*** You would think they would be smart enough to know not to schedule surgeries near the weekend if they don't feel obligated to answer to post-op questions for next few days. I didn’t know this as my former vet was always available for emergencies on weekends. On top of my stress and fear my dog was in pain, I THEN notice my dog had developed a large lump after the surgery that was not there before (it was right above incisions in her shaved area for surgery, so they would have noticed it too had it been there). I get the lump tested with emergency vet that friday and on monday I call friarsgate to ask what it could possibly be. NO ANSWER so I leave a message about the lump… NO CALL BACK. I call again… no answer, AGAIN. Finally I reach someone once I called a third time on the following Wednesday and the front desk lady says she will have to let the vet know and get back to me…. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK?That is when I lost any respect I had left for this place. My poor dog was suffering and I had no idea what was going on beyond what an emergency vet who didn’t do the surgery could tell me, and of course that emergency trip cost $450 alone. I resent friarsgate for their shoddy work and poor social skills or lack of obligation to my compounding *emergency*. A sorry will not fix this.I hate this place so much and I think anyone that goes to it doesn’t know what a proper vet is like. Frankly it isn’t even comparable to the phenomenal vet I had in Charleston, who was on top of everything with my dog and knew her extremely well and called to check in and kept their word about caring for her. FAH felt scammy and low level and I wish I never put my dog in their care.Friarsgate Animal Hospital let me down.
