Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital of Durham Reviews
I had the scare of my life yesterday when my dog had 3 seizures in 10 minutes. I called TVRH and they told me to head over- and got all my info on the phone. When I pulled in they were already anticipating our arrival and were standing at the front door. I wish I remembered the staffs names that helped me but honestly I mentally blacked out. My sweet baby needed to stay the night in the ICU and as promised the Dr. called me with an update before she left for the night. I called an additional 2 times (despite knowing that no news is good news) and the receptionists were very patient and kind in going and seeing how she was doing. I got a phone call early this morning from the Dr saying Lucia had done great and I could get her early afternoon. I was told she was such a great patient. The technician who did her discharge was super thorough and kind. I had a great experience here during a time where I thought everything was not going to be okay. Lucia is home now and resting and we want to thank all the staff here who helped care for her yesterday and today.
Feb 06, 2025 · Zoë RebackMy sweet pup needed to go to their ER & subsequently stay overnight in ICU for consuming a large quantity of human medications. I was obviously distraught & the staff was so kind and clear at the same time regarding what would be needed for Lucy. My sister was able to call ahead so they were expecting us and she went back promptly. I wish I remembered the names of the doctors and nurses because they were absolutely wonderful. Such a scary time worrying for my baby, but the staff was comforting and happy to provide updates to me anytime that I called (which wasn’t too many but enough that they knew I was worried). I hope to never go through something scary like this again, but if I were to ever need any emergency care for my dogs I know that this is where they’ll be best cared for. Highly recommend!
Mar 15, 2025 · Nicole KI can’t say enough about how kind and understanding all of the staff are here. They were able to quickly diagnose my dog with lymphoma and start her on chemo treatments a few days later. They respond to emails incredibly fast and are so compassionate. I am so thankful my primary care vet referred me here. All of the staff in their oncology department are amazing!
Jul 01, 2025 · Ryan ThompsonI can not recommend this place enough!! I had the worst experience ever when my baby was in pain and his normal vet did all they could (as they don’t have specialists or MRIs)— and every place around (Nc State and blue pearl) had like a four month waiting list for an MRI! Then he started screaming in pain so I rushed him here in hopes they could do something (and take an MRI if needed)! Not only did they get him in very quickly into the ER- I was only here 2 hours before they had an update and a plan for him! I thought that was insanely fast! The doctors were very thorough and upfront about costs of everything (which I appreciated!) and the front desk staff was super friendly when I called about 3 times a day to check on him while in their care lol! Overall I will definitely be bringing my animals here for specialist needs!! It was pricey I will say (but to be expected with what I had done— and they were very transparent with costs from the get go)! Pics of my baby happy to be home and feeling better!!
Apr 09, 2025 · Samantha CrossenI'm so grateful to be in driving distance of a vet clinic that has all-in-one access to cardiology, radiology, oncology, emergency surgery. I rushed my 2yo cat to the Holly Springs location on Thursday night because he seemed in pain. They detected a mass on/near his intestines and suggested we get ultrasound and surgical removal at a location that has multiple resources/specialties. We wanted to do this ASAP since he was in pain and we were scared for him. He also has a heart murmur so we were worried about the anesthesia.Triangle Vet Durham was able to squeeze him in the very next day. They told us that he possibly had a rupture and abdominal sepsis and that he might not make it through surgery. That was the most terrifying and upsetting news we've ever been given because our cat means the world to us. They handled our emotions with a lot of grace. That very day, they got him in to surgery. The surgeon was spectacular, completely removed his tumor and saved the functionality of his small intestine. He had no complications at all. The sutures look fantastic. I'm so grateful that they treated the situation with the gravity and care it needed. I hate to think what would have happened if they weren't able to treat him that day. It's true that the wait can be long, but the lobby does not represent how many pet patients are in the back being treated or having surgery. If your pet is in critical condition they will make sure that they are seen ASAP.The clinic has been great about answering all my questions every time I call. They always checked on him when I asked how he was doing. But they will update you several times a day regardless. You can schedule a visit every day when your pet is in hospital. I got to see his daily task chart and they take serious care that someone is always back there monitoring your pets, checking their vitals at all hours of the day and night. That made me feel a lot better about leaving him alone. He was discharged on Monday and he is now recovering well. Please be kind to your emergency vet, it is a hard job that I wouldn't be able to do so I'm grateful every day for these amazing people.
