Shoreland Animal Hospital Reviews
Great experience, for oscar and myself. Staff were experienced and knowledgeable.
May 28, 2025 · Larry GrothFirst time visit and very impressed how they took care of my “hard to handle” Coonhound, who doesn’t do well with strangers or other animals. This is the first time I’ve had a Vet do her yearly exam (shots, blood draw, nail trim, and ear cleaning) without full sedation. All the staff were great with her and the price was reasonable. This is now our new vet.
Jun 05, 2025 · Elaine BrownMy review somehow got deleted. I still continue to advise people NOT to bring their babies here. Had no issues with this facility until I brought my cat there in 2022 for exam to find out why he was not eating. Was told to drop him off and pick up later. My little guy was eating when I fed him by hand, walking around, meowing, playing and still full of life before I brought him up there. The doctor recommended feeding tube and IVs right away as his liver was failing. I agreed to let them keep him over the weekend. Got a call the next morning he was not moving much. Come Monday I asked when I could pick him up and was told doctor would be in to assess him shortly and call with update so I could pick him up. I had to call couple hours later to find out they did more IVs and blood work and tacked on a couple more hundred to the amount I agreed to before starting and told me picking him up was not an option. Before more money was added to my bill for more overnight stays and treatment, I advised I’m picking him up and went to get my baby. What they returned to me was a lifeless cat who could not even hold his head up or close his eyes. He passed away shortly after I brought him home. Happy I got him somewhere he was familiar with surrounded by his siblings, daddy and mommy before he passed away around an unfamiliar place and strangers. I will not be going back to this place. Almost $2000 just because I wanted answers to why he wasn’t eating and trusted this place to get him better but he was much worse the DAY AFTER I dropped him off. Thank God I didn’t wait for him to pass in the back of an office scared and could make him comfortable to the end. Hope this business is happy with the money they squeezed out of us.
May 31, 2025 · Michelle YI was greeted politely and professionally, everyone was very willing to make sure my Callie and I were comfortable.I have was so satisfied with everything that when we got home, I recommended a friend take their dog there.
May 24, 2025 · Rebecca PatinoShoreland WAS an amazing place to take your pet, until a private equity firm bought them out! Now, the doctor (Mack) and the office manager (Bonnie) both think it’s normal for a dog to suffer during euthanasia. Bonnie explained to me that she’s attended many euthanasia and it’s not uncommon for a dog to suffer. She also bragged that she had worked at Lucas County Humane Society for years (I guess that was supposed to impress me with her skills. Instead, it horrified me even more.)DO NOT EVER GO HERE, ESPECIALLY FOR A EUTHANASIA! I had a client that had to put their dog down. He was the sweetest 15 year old Lab in the world. When the doctor started the injection, she hurt him SO BAD that this sweet boy screamed and growled. They didn't stop... They told Mom to hold him down!!!! They didn't even respond like there was anything wrong. When he finally calmed down a bit, THEY LEFT THE ROOM! Then... 5 minutes later, he starts seizing -foaming at the mouth and all. DOCTOR MACK SEEMED TO THINK THIS WAS NOT A PROBLEM! She told me “it happens and all dogs respond differently to different medications.” Sadly, I have attended many euthanasia, it has always been peaceful. This was nothing short of a nightmare! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't ever let this woman near your dog. If I can save just one dog from this fate…. There was no compassion... no empathy. It was pure torture --- not only for this sweet Lab but for his family.**Please note to add their ridiculous (probably AI) response. They spoke to me, TWICE! And they were NOT sympathetic in the least. They also talked to other family members. Again, all they did was justify themselves by saying this is normal.. in a very nasty way. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!
