All City Pet Care South: Heitmann Jeff DVM Introduce
For pet owners across South Dakota, finding a reliable, compassionate, and comprehensive veterinary facility is essential for the well-being of their beloved animal companions. All City Pet Care South: Heitmann Jeff DVM, located in the heart of Sioux Falls, represents a cornerstone of pet health in the region. This full-service veterinary care provider is dedicated to offering everything from routine preventative wellness to advanced surgical procedures and crucial 24-hour emergency support for dogs, cats, pocket pets, and exotic animals. The facility is equipped to handle complex medical issues, offering a peace of mind to local pet parents knowing that expert help is available around the clock, should an urgent need arise.
The practice is part of a broader commitment to superior animal care that has been a part of the Sioux Falls community for decades. While offering general practice services, a significant highlight is the co-located Veterinary Emergency Hospital, which provides continuous, expert care for critical cases, ensuring pets have access to medical attention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This blend of general wellness and emergency capacity makes it a go-to resource for a wide range of needs. The professional team is committed to skilled, compassionate treatment, prioritizing the comfort and health of every pet that comes through their doors.
A key member of this dedicated team is Dr. Jeff Heitmann, DVM, who has been with All City Pet Care for over 15 years. Dr. Heitmann is a graduate of South Dakota State University and Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While he began in general practice, he has focused his expertise to specialize almost exclusively in surgery over the last seven years. His advanced training and experience, including mentorship under a board-certified surgeon, allow him to provide local options for complex surgical issues—such as fracture repair and TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) for cruciate ligament injuries—that might otherwise require more costly and time-consuming travel to a specialty hospital outside of South Dakota. His strong interest in perioperative pain management and anesthesia underscores the facility's commitment to safer, less painful outcomes for all surgical patients.
Strategically situated for convenient access within Sioux Falls, the clinic is located at a major city artery, making it accessible for both local residents and those traveling from surrounding areas in South Dakota.
- Address: 3508 S Minnesota Ave STE 102, Sioux Falls, SD 57105, USA

- Wheelchair accessible entrance
- Wheelchair accessible parking lot
- Wheelchair accessible restroom
To ensure every pet receives the focused attention they deserve, appointments are generally recommended for non-emergency services. The availability of a dedicated emergency department means that immediate, walk-in emergency care is a core service, a vital offering for the entire region.
The comprehensive scope of veterinary services covers preventative care, advanced diagnostics, and complex surgical interventions. The goal is to provide a single, trusted location for the diverse health needs of your pet throughout their life. - Focus on Education: Veterinarians and staff take the time to explain diagnoses, outline plans of action, and provide fair recommendations, helping pet owners make informed decisions about their animal's care.
For general appointments, inquiries about services, or in the event of an emergency, pet owners in South Dakota can reach the facility using the following information:

This local access to advanced medicine, combined with a deep commitment to anesthesia safety and pain management, truly elevates the standard of care available in Sioux Falls. The facility’s transparent approach to diagnostics, urging comprehensive testing like X-rays when needed, demonstrates an ethical and thorough dedication to achieving the correct diagnosis and the best possible outcome for your pet. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- The fact that I have to take my dog in at midnight was awful. The fact that they are open 24 hour for the emergency clinic is a blessing! There was a $132 fee to see a vet but my expensive visit was worth it to help my fur baby feel better. In the end, her eating something foreign that we couldn't tell what it was cost me about $1000 but she's alive, resting, and not throwing up anymore. The whole overnight staff was very kind and understanding. They explained things to me and made fair recommendations.I was told that many people don't do the ex ray and only do blood work because of the coast. I'm telling you now, do the ex ray if your pup may have eaten something. Yes, it's expensive but you love your baby and we would not have known that she had an obstruction if we hadn't done the ex ray.A plan of action was made and medication was prescribed. Now, my precious Opal dog is home resting and doing so much better! To see her comfortable is well worth the price tag. While it wasn't a fast experience, I would say it was very comparable to a standard ER visit for many people. It took us about 4 hours to get in, find out what the issue may have been, take action, and then head home. It wasn't unreasonable in our situation, and while every case may be different, I think the staff was very reasonable and understanding. Our midnight visit, while upsetting, was necessary and I'm glad we went. Opal has relief from her pain and is now resting comfortably at home because of the caring actions of the staff. Thank you to everyone involved in her care. You've reassured this dog mom and given my baby her comfort back. August 12 · Sarah Chernatinski
- Said they could help. I drove for 2 hours to sit for 5 hours and then told me the surgeon is on vacation for another 7 days. Not the way to do business. August 13 · Pat Murphy
- So grateful for this ER vet clinic! We had an unexpected emergency while out of town on Thanksgiving night(!) and the staff were absolutely amazing! Even with them working on a holiday, they were kind, compassionate and incredibly professional. They treated my pet with care and urgency, making a stressful situation so much more manageable. They even shared some of their thanksgiving potluck to help my pup take her meds! 😅Thank you for being there when we need you most!🩷🐾 December 24 · Julia Lerner
- Dr. Castro, Patrick and staff made saying goodbye to our 14 y/o Sigi as gentle as it could have been: From the nicely appointed goodbye room to the treats (chocolate, pb, cookies) that eliminated any stress for our old boy to the care from Patrick, Dr. Castro and the techs behind the scenes, THANK YOU from the bottoms of our hearts.
