I'm honestly in shock. A nice facility that has incredibly knowledge techs and vets and they honestly care about my lizard and snake. They knew everything to look for and they also made sure my husbandry was correct. They definitely gave the impression that my pets were #1 priority even though they aren't the traditional cute dog (I'm used to people thinking that a lizard can't be a pet). And the second shock was when they gave me the total and it was like $150 less than I was expecting. She said the number and I had to double check the screen. I honestly might switch my dogs to this vet too because they're so amazing. Like #1 Vet Goals. 100/10 would recommend.

Our family’s cat, my ESA for C-PTSD, who was with Hopkinton for five years, died on 3/21/2025, and we’re incredibly disappointed with the care she received, especially in her final days. We received more empathy from VCA.Meena was with Hopkinton for five years and was 100% indoors. However, we have been with Hopkinton & Weare for almost a decade. Our budgie was their patient until her passing. We adopted Meena a year later, in 2019. Since Meena was a rescue, she had trauma, but she was a lovely kitty. We were on top of all appointments. Our car broke down; then my Mom eventually had cancer, so a neighbor and Pet Taxi helped.Meena was suspected to have an enlarged heart. She did testing and it was dismissed. She had infrequent asthma attacks, but it was dismissed. Meena, due to her anxiety, had vomiting issues. We started her on gabapentin. The vomiting subsided - it only happened if a dose was missed. Eventually, Meena had one paw with pododermatitis. It was suggested to spend $1k on a surgery or do foot soaks. We were still recovering from cancer bills. We were never told how serious it could be. So - we kept doing soaks, and by another check, it was on all feet.A new vet at the office took over and started her on immunosuppressants - steroids. At the same time, my Mom began preventative cancer treatment. This vet still didn't describe the condition entirely. I researched it and learned the severity myself. We described multiple times that she kept hiding, wouldn’t play or climb, and slept longer. Her numbers improved, not the paws. We stopped the steroid. Her energy returned - the paws were the same.She started Atopica. We saw improvements, but the hiding persisted. We weren't told that the meds could cause nausea until they arrived. We called the vet to ask for anti-nausea meds to have on hand in case. They refused to prescribe it, even though we told them if she vomited, it would be hard for us to get there. It happened. A neighbor drove in a snowstorm to get her nausea meds.She had a checkup on March 10, and her numbers were normal. Days later, she got worse and refused to eat, and her paw was swollen. She went for a checkup on March 18th. The vet dismissed the symptoms and couldn't tell us the type of infection. We had to push for an X-ray. She said her lungs had liquid but not severe, and gave a general antibiotic.We got an over-the-counter immune booster as a preventative. She started treatment in November, and her immune system was at risk since - but they didn't give us a preventative until she was ill. We asked for an appetite stimulant, but they forgot to pack it. A technician offered to bring it in the late afternoon, but we missed the call. We hand-fed her, and a friend brought over the stimulant on the 19th.Meena started to wheeze, and we rushed to VCA. With Meena being 100% indoors, and with our family not leaving the house for weeks at that time, using air purifiers and cleaning routines recommended by oncology, the VCA vet couldn’t understand how Meena got so sick, why so little was done, and why we weren’t told much.Her lungs, in less than 24 hours, were inflamed entirely, and after staying overnight on oxygen, she was diagnosed with pneumonia, asthma, and an enlarged heart. She most likely had asthma the whole time. Her heart possibly was enlarged before, but worse. They threw so many treatments at her to save her life.VCA told us to come in and visit her the next day, on the 20th, because her paranoia was extreme. She started meds and an inhaler, but they felt she should go home to be comfortable. She refused to eat until we visited.Ultimately, she went home, and by midnight, March 21st, her breathing worsened; she hid and died from her lungs & heart failing. There was screaming & blood.VCA cremated her. Their VCA vet comforted us. He again affirmed that Hopkinton could’ve done preventative treatment.The Hopkinton vet was supposed to call us to check in. Only flowers came from them.

The staff at Hopkinton Animal Hospital truly care about your furry family. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our appointment and they already had Barnaby’s exam room ready with his name on the door. He was handled lovingly by the techs and vet, who even gave him a treat when it was all over. This visit was just a wellness exam, but last year I truly believe that Dr. Richard helped save Barnaby’s life with her quick diagnosis and medicinal regimen. I fully trust them with my bunny’s care.

Everyone I talked to were very very nice. My hedge Midnight was a very good boy while he had his toenails clipped. The tech and vet were very knowledgeable. I will take him back if he ever has any problems or needs toenails cut again.
