Melrose Veterinary Clinic Reviews
FIND A DIFFERENT VET NOW " PLEASE READ TO SAVE YOUR PETS LIFE" Absolute worst vet clinic in the area I brought my dog in earlier then his normal vaccinations appointment about a month early because he had developed a weird cough, and short of breath not once did she say they should run some tests I was in and out of the office in 20 mins she seemed upset that I came in on short notice and was only in the room for 10 mins half of which was questioning me and I showed her a video of his cough which ended in a gag and 5 mins to give him the basic check up told me he had bronchitis but his lungs and heart sounded good temp was where it should be and he would live many more years to come she gave me some meds to give him. Antibiotic and a steroid. First dose was right after the visit at about 4pm second dose at 9 am Wednesday morning After I gave him the third dose at 830 pm Wednesday night about 30hrs after the visit a few hours later my poor dog wasn't acting himself a few hours after the meds at 11 pm and his breathing was very rapid and he wouldn't lay down and get comfortable I let him outside and waited by the door because I wasn't dressed and he was unresponsive to me calling him back about 3 mins later and he was very good at listening to me or he would just come to the door he was just sitting in the neighbors yard about 30 feet from the house and wouldn't even look at me I walked over picked him up brought him inside I gave him some water since the steroid was supposed to make him thirsty, turned out the light and he walked upstairs and jumped in bed just like normal I petted him for a few minutes and then he jumps out of bed which was also normal for him but he didn't scratch at his bed like he did every night, the next morning he jumped in bed very early at 6:30 woke me up to get petted which is not normal for him it's usually 9 am on my days off and usually jumps in and out about 4 times. But that morning early Thursday he just sat at the end of my bed breathing rapidly and stared at the wall didn't look at me and was drooling also not normal so I got up to get him water let him out and give him his meds, but when I opened my door he didn't follow so I picked him up set him down he walked to the stairs but didn't follow me down so I picked him up but he wasn't assisting me in picking him up by the armpits just being dead weight I helped him down carrying him like I was hugging him, not knowing that would be my final embrace with him I set him down in the kitchen filled his water dish and set it down in front of him, and seconds after I stood up I watched his back legs slowly slide back and him fall down I immediately went to him to pick him up and about HALF A GALLON OF FLUID CAME POURING OUT OF HIM AS HE MADE THE MOST HORRIFIC SOUND OF A FINAL WINING COMBINED WITH THE GURGLING SOUNDS OF THE FLUID COMING OUT OF HIS LUNGS THROUGH HIS MOUTH AND NOSE. HORRIFIED I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THERE CLINIC AT 7:19 AM AND SOMEONE PICKED UP FOR THEIR "EMERGENCY" PHONE I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND PLEADED WITH HER ON HOW TO START CPR ON MY DOG, I know how to on a person but not a dog they don't train ppl for that at work, SHE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT SHE ISN'T QUALIFIED, KNOWLEDGEABLE OR TRAINED TO GIVE OUT THAT KIND OF INFORMATION AND APOLOGIZED, I TOLD HER WHAT KIND OF EMERGENCY LINE IS THIS WHEN THERE IS AN EMERGENCY!!!! I JUST NEED TO KNOW HOW TO GIVE HIM AIR AND WHERE TO DO THE COMPRESSIONS. I LOST SO MUCH TIME TALKING TO HER AND SHE WAS OF NO HELP IN HELPING ME KEEP CALM AS I WAS IN SHOCK. I WAS ONLY UP AND AWAKE FOR 5 MINS THAT MORNING, I DID ALL THAT I COULD BUT MY PUP DIDN'T SURVIVE!!!! THIS CLINIC CLEARLY HAS ABSOLUTELY NO TRAINING FOR THE ASSOCIATES IN CPR FOR PETS OR ANY OTHER CRISIS FIND A DIFFERENT VET NOW! My dog was only 4 years old HE DIDNT DESERVE TO DIE LIKE THAT!!!
