Veterinary Hospital at the Lake Reviews
Dr Barber and Dr Rosenberg, plus their amazing team of vet techs, have been nothing short of amazing when it comes to the care and management of my breeding dogs. They have successfully guided us through two litters, one of which was not as straight forward and required a c section. They take the care of your dog very seriously and only want the best outcomes for each individual. I won’t be bringing my dogs to anyone else.
May 03, 2024 · Kayla-Anne CandelmoDr. Jane Barber and her team should not even be allowed near your fur baby’s. This office puts money over the care of your animals. Dr. Barber will assume the absolute worst and use worst case scenario in order to scare you to attend unnecessary appointments so she can fill her pockets. We have been going to Dr. Barber since April 2021 for our husky which is pregnant with two pups. Every interaction with Dr. Barber has made my Wife and I more and more worry about the health of our beautiful husky and her pups. Come to find out from a real vet that specializes in reproduction, our husky and her pups are healthy and happier than ever! Our most recent visit with Dr. Barber has put an awful taste in our mouths. We were told that our husky’s due date was on June 26th. On the 26th she was not going into labor, so we made an appointment to come in on the 27th to have a cesarean preformed. Halfway through the appointment on the 27th and after running unnecessary tests and ultrasounds Dr. Barber decides to tell us that she messed up the due date. The actual due date was 28th. Dr. Barber stated at the appointment that she found out about the mess up on the 25th! Then why didn’t she call us and tell us over the phone? It’s because we didn’t pay and sign up for her “on call service” as she stated in the appointment. We would’ve not set up the appointment and wasted money on unnecessary tests if we knew the correct due date! She then proceeded to charge us for her mess up and attempts to get us to put a non-refundable $500 deposit on a cesarean that our dog did not need! After talking to her personally about the situation, our concerns with her as a vet and demanding a refund for her mess up. She states the appointment was medically necessary in order to maintain the health of our husky and that she would not give a refund for her mistake. We are not and never will take any of our precious animals to Dr. Barber ever again. I suggest you do the same!
Jul 01, 2021 · Christian FoschiniUnfortunately the cap is five stars if I could give them ten stars I totally would there amazing at what they do and have taken such good care of my cat.Want to leave another review.... 4/25...My cat was attacked by a coyote in the early morning. At 8:30 I found her shaken and wounded. My cat is disabled. She only has three legs. I knew something was wrongCalled the Vet and we were able to take her at 9 am. They took her in... Did a complete exam... X-rays and the whole work over. Within hours I was able to get a complete work up. She had broken ribs and possibly nerve damage. They treated my baby on site with no questions asked. She was delivered to me alive, with all instructions needed for her. Her damage from this animal was equivalent to being rear ended by a transfer truck. She has barely moved, but they have called and checked in hourly. She has a follow up appointment on Monday. I have never been so grateful to anyone for their service. She is struggling, but thanks to the doctors and the vet techs, my baby is alive. She is like a child to me. We found her at 3 weeks old and have raised her for the last two years.THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR AMAZING SERVICE. THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY FOOT...
Apr 27, 2024 · Kammie BranchMy Mother owned a very sweet 10 month old English Bulldog named Tanya. She was referred to Veterinary Specialties Hospital At the Lake due to problems with her Uterus. She had an appointment to get fixed because her period was causing many problems for her. Tanya was very aggressive when it came to other female dogs, she also wasn’t too fond of young children. Besides this, she was the sweetest girl in the world. My Mom went to her appointment, and the vet somehow manipulated her into signing her life away. Yesterday sweet Tanya was put down. I am heart broken and disgusted with this vet. The vet said she didn’t want to do the surgery on a dog like that when she will only get worse. Although Tanya didn’t have the best temperament, that was no reason to put her down. She was so kind hearted. The vet continuously used my Moms grandkids as amo… saying things such as “she could hurt your grandkids” or “think about your grandkids”. My mom put rehoming her on the table and the vet shot that down with “she will get beaten”. You’d assume that someone who went into the career field as a veterinarian, would want to try anything besides putting our sweet fur babies down. If I could give this place no stars at all I would. She clouded my Moms judgment and now she is completely heart broken. The vet ended the conversation with “I know you’ll make the right decision”. I wouldn’t recommend this vet to anyone. They are a disgrace to the animal community. Our Sweet baby will be missed.
Oct 26, 2021 · Allie BentleyI can’t speak more highly of the vets and staff at Vet specialties at the Lake. They have cared for numerous girls of mine through breeding management and many many c-sections and their care and expertise is the best on all the Carolina’s for sure!! Just yesterday I think we had our 10th c-section with Drs. Barber and Rosenberg. This is the result! And a big shoutout to all their vet techs…they’re the best I’ve dealt with in 25 years!!!
