Choosing a veterinary center is a deeply personal decision, and Symphony Veterinary Center presents a compelling, if complex, option. On the one hand, their commitment to advanced diagnostics and a wide range of services is a significant advantage. The positive review from the rabbit owner, who praised the "friendly and knowledgeable" vet tech and the "thorough" and patient vet, speaks volumes about the quality of their care. This client’s satisfaction is a strong endorsement, noting the vet "patiently answered all of my questions while prioritizing my pet’s physical and emotional health." A pet’s willingness to forgive a vet visit is indeed the highest praise. This reflects a positive and professional clinical experience.
However, the experience of the cat owner highlights a critical point about communication and transparency, particularly regarding fees. The owner's frustration with being "hoodwinked" about a free wellness visit and then being faced with a bill is a serious concern. While the clinic’s policy may have been misinterpreted, the lack of clarity and the subsequent handling of the dispute are major points of contention. This review serves as a cautionary tale for prospective clients, emphasizing the need to confirm all pricing and policies in writing before a visit.
Despite this negative feedback, the center’s core medical services and the positive experiences of many clients, particularly with the thoroughness of the exams and the professionalism of the staff, suggest that the quality of care is high. For clients who prioritize advanced medical care and a broad range of services, and who are willing to be diligent about confirming costs, Symphony Veterinary Center may still be a viable and valuable option on the Upper West Side. Its ability to handle everything from routine care to specialized treatments for various pets makes it a comprehensive resource.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My cat Muffin, dislocated her hip. We got confirmation from her primary veterinary on Tuesday. I called around other facilities to get price for surgery. Some places were charging upward cost 8K-- which is not economically unfeasible for my family.I called Symphony Vet to get a quote about amputation. Unfortunately, Symphony Vet doesn't give quotes over the phone. I spoke with front desk rep. Mathew and ask if there was any fees-- as I am only interested in getting a quote for surgery and will send over records. He told me " since muffin is a new client, a wellness visit is free. " So I promptly made appointment for Saturday ( 8/30/2025).I meet with the vet who was very kind and understood my situation. He provided a range of 3-5k for amputation-- which is still very expensive for leg removal.Sadly, I still didn't get definitive price. The vet told me today's visit charge is $108 . I was very confused, as this was never told to me by Mathew over the phone or this morning as I signed in. I was completing hoodwinked. When I followed up after the visit with Mathew, I was then told a different story. He claimed because he worked there for years he would never say that... I wholeheartedly disagree, because that is what was told to me. And it is on company's flyer.I refused to pay and he gleeful stated" Well it will be sent to collections".Today was a complete waste of time. I do not recommend.
August 30 · SashaI called for an appointment for my rabbit. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. The check-in was quick and easy. The vet tech was friendly and knowledgeable. She handled my rabbit with gentle confidence. The vet was thorough. She patiently answered all of my questions while prioritizing my pet’s physical and emotional health. My rabbit was quick to forgive me after the vet visit which is the best and only endorsement I require.
April 26 · Lydia DesRoche(from new client to this location) ❤️ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A GREAT VET PLACE FOR THEIR PET. PLEASE COME HERE!!!Coming out of a pet owner who is very indecisive when it comes down to looking for the best vet places to have the best proper love and care for my animal I AM CONFIDENT to say that this place is HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE . Granted the prices are a little pricy which they are very reasonable but trust me it’s really worth every penny. As you all can see my cat truly enjoyed his first time going to the vet which He received a lot of love, treats and proper care which he surely didn’t want to go back home Since he had a great time But over all from mine and my cat’s experience I do want to whole heartedly thank everyone for giving us both a very warm welcome.
March 28 · Sarah FSymphony Vet has been my go-to vet in the neighborhood for ~2 years. Extremely friendly staff and vets. They give clear breakdown of charges. I'm not sure how their prices compare with those at other vets in the neighborhood, but I assume they're around the same. Always had a seamless experience for getting wellness checks and diagnoses for my cat with CKD.
July 17 · Celena ChangWe had an excellent experience bringing my new kitten in for the first vet visit! From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about animals. The vet was gentle, patient, and thorough—taking time to answer all of my questions and making sure my kitten felt safe and comfortable. The clinic was clean and well-organized, and I felt confident that my kitten was in the best hands. I’m so grateful for the care we received and would not hesitate to return. Highly recommend!
