Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture, under Dr. Kristina Dallas, provides a specialized range of holistic and integrative veterinary services. Their approach focuses on working with your pet's body to enhance its natural healing capabilities, often in conjunction with your primary veterinarian's conventional care.
- Veterinary Acupuncture: This is a core service, utilizing very thin needles to stimulate specific points on the body. Acupuncture aims to restore the natural flow of energy (Qi), enhance circulation, reduce pain and inflammation, boost immune function, and balance the nervous system. It is commonly used for chronic pain, arthritis, hip dysplasia, muscle injuries, allergies, respiratory issues, digestive problems, behavioral disorders, and neurological conditions.
- Chinese Herbal Medicine: Based on thousands of years of tradition, Chinese herbal formulas are used to support the body in various ways. They can complement conventional medicines for acute diseases or act as long-term "tonic" formulas for strengthening aging pets. They are often applied to address poor digestion, chronic infections, arthritis, asthma, and can even minimize side effects of conventional treatments like chemotherapy.
- Nutritional Counseling: Recognizing the fundamental role of diet in health, Dr. Dallas provides guidance on fresh, healthful, and balanced diets. This includes advice on species-appropriate nutrition and the use of targeted supplements to address specific imbalances.
- Musculoskeletal Manipulation/Chiropractic Therapy: This involves gentle and precise manipulation of the spine and skeleton to alleviate misalignments, restore normal range of motion, and reduce pain. It also incorporates other manual therapies like massage, deep tissue work, and Tuina (Traditional Chinese Medicine massage).
- Reiki: Offered both in-clinic and long-distance, Reiki is an energy healing technique aimed at promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and supporting the body's natural healing processes.
- LASER Photon Resonator Therapy: This form of low-level laser therapy can be used to reduce pain and inflammation and accelerate healing in various conditions.
- Ozone Therapy: A natural therapy designed to energize the body, boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and enhance oxygen utilization.
- E-stim (Electro-acupuncture): A variation of acupuncture where a mild electrical current is passed through the needles to enhance the therapeutic effect, particularly useful for pain management and neurological conditions.
- End-of-Life Care and Palliative Support: Providing compassionate care to improve the quality of life for pets in their twilight years, including pain management, comfort care, and guidance for families during this sensitive time.
Several distinctive features and highlights make Ancient Arts Veterinary Acupuncture a highly recommended practice for pet owners in the Saratoga Springs, NY area:

Meet Mama, a sassy feline, who strongly dislikes going to the vet (even though her mother works as a veterinary technician). Mama has numerous health issues that has her primary veterinarians scratching their heads in confusion. Dr. Dallas took the challenge and Mama was treated with such kindness, empathy, and understanding from Dr. Dallas and Melissa. Mama and I strongly recommend visiting Dr. Dallas and Melissa if you are looking to implement a compassionate holistic aspect to your pet’s treatment.

Apr 02, 2022 · Kellie HarveyAs a CTICU (cardiothoracic intensive care unit) Nurse I can say I know quality healthcare, this is not it. I did not see any malpractice, but the complete lack of professionalism is concerning. Tamara has really poor bedside manor, made multiple condescending comments about my “anxiety” for my dog who just underwent a CCL repair, and has really poor social skills. She also doesn’t understand consent, as she continued to make adjustments on my dog after I told her to stop. We are traveling nurses and have been to countless acupuncturists for our dog, would 10/10 recommend somewhere else
Oct 27, 2024 · John ThompsonWhen my 14 year old Dachshund Ella had cushings disease I was looking for a gentler approach to treating the symptoms. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Kris who not only treated Ella as if she were her own, but she extended her life and made her quality of life better with herbs and acupuncture etc. I highly recommend Dr Kris and her practice. I have continued to see her with my other pup and another rescue dachshund. He also had some acupuncture for his back. No white coats or scary metal tables! Just gentle music, and a doctor that gets on the floor with the dogs and really sees them!
May 20, 2021 · Melanie HerterDr Kris is a true healer. My kitty not only suffered from nerve pain in her hind legs but depression over losing her lifelong mate. After just a few sessions with Dr. Chris, our little girl was so much happier and was walking so much better. It's like we got her back. We go now every five weeks and each trip is a wonderful day out for us. I can't say enough about acupuncture for pets and Ancient Arts Acupuncture.
