MedVet Indianapolis Reviews
I had brought my older cat to the ER in shock after an adverse drug reaction from a medicine given at his outpatient vet. The ER vet (Dr. Woods) and staff were very thorough and kind and communication was excellent. They ended up admitting my cat to the ICU where he stayed for three days. The Internal medicine vet (Dr. Fugere) and the staff there were very caring and concerned. They worked tirelessly to save my cat’s life and called twice daily. After a stressful week, my cat is now home and doing wonderfully. I will never forget seeing him collapsed in my kitchen and I know he would have died that night if it hadn’t been for the hospital and their staff. I can’t thank them enough. It’s an excellent place when you need immediate help.

Apr 20, 2025 · Tisha MillwoodThey’ve been very informative throughout the cancer diagnosis and surgery process for our dog. Special thanks to Amanda and Dr Jackson on the oncology team for being patient and answering it bazillion questions, they’ve been lovely. Dr Winthrop and her surgery team really took great care of our boy.
Apr 10, 2025 · Wendy DLet me start by saying I highly recommend MedVet Indianapolis, as my dog has now been a patient for 9 months and is doing great. Last fall Teegan developed some respiratory issues which worsened to the point she needed an emergency visit. On our first visit Teegan saw Dr. Jones in the ER and had a very good response to the treatment and was looking great the next morning. The plan was to have her undergo a bronchoscopy by Dr. Schrage to look at her trachea/lungs and get a sample of the mucus to determine what was causing her problem.Unfortunately over the course of a few days she again developed more respiratory issues and this time they were much more severe. I ended up rushing her to MedVet Indy and was greeted by a team of employees at the car who rushed her inside to stabilize her. Dr. Jones was again working in the ER which was great, as she was quite familiar with T's case. The following day she underwent the bronchoscopy and Dr. Schrage did a bronchial washing and got a great sample so we could determine the cause and then treat it. Right after she finished I got a call from Sam who told me T did really well and advised that Dr. Schrage would be calling me with more detailed info. Dr. Schrage did a gram stain on the specimen right after the procedure to look at the type of cells and determine the best early treatment before the definitive results came back from the lab. The prescribed treatment worked well and T was home in 2 days. The communication with MedVet staff was fantastic at that time and continues to be great. If I have a question/concern I reach out to Sam via text and she responds promptly, talks to Dr. Schrage, and then advises me on what I should do. Follow-up visits are very thorough and my questions are always answered with a detailed explanation of what is going on and how the treatment will work. Initially the facility was under construction, but on our last visit construction was complete and the facility is beautiful! There is a very large waiting room with enough room so dogs aren't on top of each other. I always get a text reminding me that T needs a follow-up visit and then I call and the front office staff is helpful in scheduling her visit. The other helpful thing is that before procedures are done there the cost is discussed and there are no surprises. While the cost might seem high, it is exactly what other ER vets will charge. I'm a surgeon myself and understand how skilled one needs to be with doing a bronchoscopy on such a small animal. Every patient is like a human pediatric patient and in my experience everything is so much smaller than an adult and can be quite difficult.Again, I want to thank Sam, Dr. Jones, and Dr. Schrage for their great care of Teegan! The entire staff is amazing and you know they truly care about the well-being of their patients.I'd advise anyone to put the address and phone number in your contacts so if there is an emergent situation with your pet you aren't scrambling, while stressed, to try to find the location and phone number online! The attached photo is Teegan using her Aerodog inhaler which was recommended by Dr. Schrage and works extremely well!
Jun 26, 2025 · Dan TeeganWe want to thank you for everything that you’ve done for our baby. We know she was in a lot of pain and you tried so hard to make sure she wasn’t. We didn’t make the decision though to let her go to sleep forever that way she cannot have no more pain we appreciate you thank you so much From Jazmine’s mom and dad waiting Priscilla Bryant
