Animal Clinic of Encino Introduce
For pet owners in Encino and throughout the San Fernando Valley, the health and happiness of their animal companions are of the utmost importance. When seeking veterinary care, a full-service facility that combines expertise with compassion and convenience is highly valued. The Animal Clinic of Encino, located on the bustling Ventura Boulevard, is an established animal hospital that provides comprehensive veterinary services for both dogs and cats. They consider themselves an advanced general practice, equipped to handle everything from routine wellness checks to more urgent and complex medical needs, all in one central location.
The core of the clinic's mission is to provide high-quality medical care in a clean, quiet, and open facility that minimizes stress for both patients and their owners. The staff, including veterinarians and vet assistants, are known for being knowledgeable and caring. One client review specifically praises Dr. Chang and her vet assistants for their expertise, noting that they are "very knowledgeable." The clinic’s commitment to patient well-being extends beyond medical treatment to providing education and open communication about diet, vaccination protocols, and at-home care. They strive to be a supportive partner in optimizing a pet's quality of life.
However, it is important for potential clients to be aware of the clinic’s operational style, which can be very busy. This can make scheduling a visit a challenge for working individuals. Additionally, a crucial point for pet owners to consider is the clinic’s policy on emergencies. While they are an advanced general practice and try to fit in urgent cases, they do not function as a 24-hour emergency hospital and may refer critical cases to a local emergency facility. A review from a long-time client highlights a very unfortunate and sad experience with this policy, which is a significant factor to consider when choosing a vet for all of your pet's needs. This is in contrast with a client who praised Dr. Cheng for going above and beyond to ensure their German Shepherd gets everything they need, demonstrating a high level of personalized care.
The Animal Clinic of Encino is conveniently situated at 18010 W Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91316, USA. This location on one of the main thoroughfares of the San Fernando Valley makes it easily accessible for residents of Encino and its neighboring communities. Being on Ventura Boulevard offers the convenience of being close to many other shops and services, making it simple for pet owners to incorporate a vet visit into their daily routine.
As a full-service clinic, it is important to note that the Animal Clinic of Encino operates as an advanced general practice, not an emergency hospital, and may refer patients to a local ER if they are over capacity or if the case is too critical. This is a vital piece of information for all clients to know. The clinic's location near major freeways, like the 101 and 405, allows for quick travel to a referral emergency hospital if needed. The clinic's building is designed to be calming for pets, providing a clean, quiet, and open facility.

Animal Clinic of Encino Reviews
This is a very busy clinic. Challenging for a working person to schedule a clinic visit. Dr Chang and her Vet assistants are very knowledgeable. Receptionists are all rude.My pets(dog and cats) were regular patients at this clinic for years. Spent lots of money for various non emergency health issues.I had had my 14-year-old cat checked by a home vet and then followed up at the Encino clinic. The vet covering checked my cat checked prior lab results and prescribed anti nausea medication.About 2 wks later I came home, my cat greeted me, suddenly fell over, and appeared to have a seizure. I called and explained what was happening. Receptionist said they don’t take emergencies and I have to go to an emergency hospital. It was pouring rain out. I said that the vet that just examined my cat is there today, can’t I just bring him in. Receptionist said no. By the time I drove to emergency vet hospital, (20 minutes later)he had died. I haven’t gone back since and the location is only 1 1/2 blocks away from my residence.Something for pet owners to consider. We spend lots of money on our fur babies. Maybe choose a veterinarian/facility that does regular check ups and takes emergencies.
May 16 · Gena MuscattOur friends recommended this vet when we got our GSD who is almost three. Dr Cheng continues to be a wonderful vet who really cares about their patients. They always remember us and go above and beyond to ensure our GSD is gets everything he needs.
June 03 · Sarah Davis (Sarah Cate)The doctor and the nurses are amazing and really care for the pet. This place puts pets first and the doctors and nurses take their time to talk to you about what is happening and will be happening. The doctor is very friendly and does not push any brand but advises on natural items to feed your pet.
May 01 · Nooruddin GheewalaIf you like being interrupted and ignored before you can even finish a sentence then Dr Chang is the vet for you. I have always had 3 or 4 dogs at a time and for over 40+ years. I think I have a general idea of what’s going on with my animals. She listens to nothing. I went into her office and she wouldn’t give me a second to even talk. She did absolutely nothing to help my dog but said I should put her on a Prozac because she is high strung. Seriously? I didn’t even go in there for that. She ignored what was wrong with her and just took my money. $300 and did absolutely nothing. Now my puppy is still sick and will have to go to another vet to help her. I was so pissed but I kept my cool. Paid the money and left. I’m a normal nice guy that doesn’t have anger issues but I was one second from having a meltdown. At this point I wouldn’t even trust her to feed my dog let alone treat my dog. I normally never write reviews but I just wanted to warn people before they spend their hard earned money. She lost me as a customer and I’ll never go back.
July 09 · Dgc DgcDr Chang is the absolute best! There’s no one else I trust more to take care of our dogs. We moved further away and sometimes it takes us 45+ mins to get there but it’s so worth it because we know Dr Chang will do everything she can to make sure our dogs are healthy.
