I had an wonderful experience at Banfield Pet Hospital with Bianca’s outstanding customer service. From the moment I stepped up to the counter the staff was friendly attentive and eager to help. Who stood out to me the most was Bianca. I felt like she went above and beyond her duty. I was there to fill a prescription for my furr baby and she gave me more than I expected. She helped me price match and I was able to save so much money. She was so knowledgeable and attentive. Ensuring that she would take good care of me. It is so rare nowadays to find quality customer service. It truly made a positive impression on me. She went in for a dental cleaning which had her go under anesthesia which had me quite worried but her team of Dr. Picozza, Mary and Bianca (Gabrielle VT) were exceptional. Mary greeted us and cared for Luna as I said goodbye, it was said that Mary was showing Lunas cuteness off which warmed my heart. The Dr. called and gave an informative update on her progress and possible steps moving forward w/ out pressure which was appreciated. Upon picking her up Bianca, at the desk was attentive to my questions and suggestions then Mary ended it as great as it started. She brought Luna out with a bright smile. Gave me complete rundown of her procedure and what to expect at home while helping with her harness as I was still nervous (thinking Luna maybe in pain cause she did lose 3 teeth with the cleaning and coming off from the anesthesia). This is our 2nd visit to Banfield and I have had the most amazing experiences both times. They truly treat Luna Lee as if she’s theirs and as her mom I couldn’t want anything more. ♥️ (She basking in the sun today, feeling better)

I bring my 2 pittys and kitty to banfield and they are just wonderful with them. They take them on short notice and happy to accomodate with drop offs if possible. I hope they open a banfield in tauton ma that would be wonderful.

This was supposed to be a quick follow-up after a very traumatic event. I had just moved back to Massachusetts from Arizona, where my dogs had the best care I’ve ever received. I booked the appointment at Banfield about a week ahead of time and gave them everything they needed to request my dog’s records. They told me they would reach out. The day before the appointment, I checked in with our Arizona vet, who said no one from Banfield had contacted them. I followed up with Banfield and was met with confusion, as if the conversation about records had never happened.To avoid issues, I had the AZ vet fax everything over directly. The day of the appointment, I called to confirm they had received the records and asked if I could move my time earlier. They said yes and offered me a 1:00 p.m. slot. I got to PetSmart right around 1:00, and while my dogs were using the bathroom outside, I got a call from Banfield asking where I was — with an attitude — because it was “already two minutes into the appointment.”When I walked inside, I expected it to be slammed. It wasn’t. From what I could see in the front area, it was quiet. The only other people I saw were a man and a young girl, who I assume was his daughter. They kept walking in and out of rooms, eventually going through an employees-only door. It felt strange and unprofessional. Why is a child being brought into a medical environment where animals are being treated?At the front desk, I was met with immediate attitude. The woman checking me in didn’t greet me, didn’t smile, didn’t offer a single ounce of kindness. Still, I stayed calm and polite, took my dogs into the exam room, and waited. A tech came in shortly after. I introduced myself and my dogs, and let her know that my male Akita was the patient. I also explained that he has PTSD from witnessing my fiancé’s death. She giggled. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and explained a little more, thinking maybe she didn’t understand. She giggled again. Whether intentional or not, it was inappropriate, dismissive, and deeply uncomfortable.Next, I was handed the treatment estimate and told I’d be able to pay at the end. I explained that my dad would be paying with his CareCredit card, but he was in a different time zone and about to go into a movie. I asked to pay upfront so we didn’t run into issues later. I was told they “couldn’t process payment until after the doctor had seen my dog.” I tried to offer a solution — I’d pay the amount listed now, and if there was anything additional, I’d cover the rest on my own card. They still refused. I asked how that was considered “working with me” like they kept saying. They had no real answer. There was no flexibility or willingness to help me navigate a very simple situation.Then they told me they’d be taking my dog to the back to remove the stitches without me. I had already explained his trauma, his separation anxiety from me and his sister, and how these situations can trigger panic for him. I no longer felt safe trusting them with his care. I left before the doctor ever entered the room.To top it off, I got not one but two follow-up calls from Banfield asking how my appointment went. What appointment? I left before he was ever seen. That alone shows how disorganized and disconnected they are from what actually happens in their clinic.This experience was unkind, unprofessional, and completely lacking in empathy. From being laughed at when I shared my dog’s trauma, to being dismissed at the front desk, to the refusal to work with me on a basic payment issue — it was one red flag after another. I ended up going back to VEG in Newton, where they removed my dog’s stitches at no cost and treated us with genuine care and compassion.I wouldn’t trust Banfield Westwood with my pets ever again. This was a 1 out of 10 experience, and if I could give less than 1 star, I would. :)
