Getting her into our regular vet would've taken a few extra days and we decided it couldn't wait- that's something that will haunt me forever.We didn't see her again until we took her home.They sent us away after briefly explaining that it was likely an infection and asking if we wanted blood work- I didn't want any surprises, knowing that cats can be fragile especially with their kidneys and infections, so I said yes. $700 later, we were told it was a bad tooth, that she was given a 10 day antibiotic shot, and urged to follow up with our vet.Her cheek was still bloody when we took her to the car. They got her name wrong on the paperwork. When we got home we noticed her eye had started seeping and suspected she was blind on that side. A follow up with our regular vet confirmed that, and gave us the worst news possible. After palpating the area and looking in her mouth, he told us that while he can't 100 percent confirm without putting her under (which he recommended against because it would put her through more stress), it was likely an oral tumor that had caused the infection, and if he was right, that's what caused her tooth to rot.We did another round of antibiotics just to be sure, but things got worse from there. After trying to give her the best few weeks of her life even through the pain and fear, we put her down on March 21st.I understand these things can be tricky to diagnose, let alone tell the 20 and 21 yr old that came in with their childhood cat talking about updating their mom every few minutes what's going on. What's harder for me to comprehend is how an emergency vet who knows that oral tumors, specifically cancerous ones make up about 10 percent of all domesticated cat death, could miss this. I refuse to entertain the idea that they neglected to tell us and urged us to see our primary vet so strongly so the responsibility fell onto him as my father suggested.My issue, why I'm writing this review, is that you are too expensive to miss something like this. $700 and the reassurance that she'll be just fine so she could pass after a month of pain and suffering in her favorite blanket with me and my little brother petting her. Shame on you. For the money you're charging, you need to be more thorough. I don't want another family to go through what you have put us through.The photos are of when we left the vet (you can actually see the blood on her chin) and the last photo I got of her alive. She's on her favorite blanket, the same one we took with us to the vet so she didn't have to pass on the cold table. Her name was Perngie, or Phrarshie, or Phrar, not Fringie, like they called her and wrote on all her paperwork. It would've been more understandable if it hadn't been quite literally spelled out by both my mother and myself. Our vet managed to get it right at least.
Mar 23, 2025 · Ev TWe recently needed to put our senior lab down. Our vet was unable to fit us in for several days and gave us a list of places to call. After calling nearly every place on the list and being told no, we spoke with Adam (I believe) at AIC. He was able to get us in within an hour and they were so caring and compassionate during this difficult time. My husband had to carry our dog inside as she had not been able to walk/stand most of the day without falling. Kaitlin took us right back to a room & got us checked in there vs waiting in the lobby. Christine and Kim took care of us during the visit. They loved on our dog like she was their own. She got cake and lots of milk bones, and they made her so comfortable. They’ll never know how much it meant to us to be able to get in that day and not prolong her suffering, but also with how much care they took with handling our appointment. My husband nor myself has never had to put a pet down before. We didn’t know what to expect and they explained everything for us and didn’t rush us at all. They waited till we were ready. I will recommend them in the future to others. Thank you for treating us with such kindness during a difficult time. We appreciate you all.

It's going to be another month before I can get Toby into his new primary doctor, and I was concerned about his appetite and bathroom habits.For $145, I got significant peace of mind regarding Toby's health and assurance that our management of his prostate issues is adequate. The vet checked his vitals, did a prostate exam, and a brief ultrasound and helped me parse out what issues might be related to his prostate and what might be due to stress from our big move.When it comes to appetite and going to the bathroom, those are urgent concerns but not quite to the level of an expensive emergency animal hospital. AIC provided exactly what we needed and I can't thank them enough for their straightforward approach and prompt service. On top of that, the clinic is nice, clean, and pleasant with ample parking. Highly recommended if you have pressing concerns about your pet that aren't necessarily life-or-death emergencies but also shouldn't wait until your next primary visit.
