These guys are incredible. I brought my Frenchie in because he had an allergic reaction, and while it wasn't a true emergency, they were incredibly accommodating. Jul 05, 2025 · Ron WrobelOne of the hardest nights of our lives, and the whole crew were supportive and kind. They helped us through everything, the vet came in and explained everything thoroughly and they took such good care of our boy while we made a decision that will never be easy. I cannot thank you all enough for your kindness and your patience with us. You are amazing, and caring and wonderful. Thank you for what you did, we will never forget it.
Jun 03, 2025 · Misty ValzaniaWe needed to visit this facility at around 3:30 AM as our beloved dog was struggling to breathe as his congestive heart failure progressed. We had to make that difficult decision that pet owners dread. All I can say is that the entire staff was understanding, caring and compassionate. We appreciate the care you have to Chewie as he crossed the rainbow bridge. Thank you for your kindness toward him and our family.
Jun 16, 2025 · Linda ScrofanoI have taken several pets to this veterinary clinic, but I will never return. During my last visit, my dog was struggling to defecate. They brought in my 8-month-old puppy, took X-rays, and immediately suggested surgery. The vet was clearly apprehensive around my dog, which my puppy sensed. Eventually, they decided against the surgery and simply recommended boiled chicken and rice, which did not resolve the issue.I returned for a second visit, where they handed me Purina EN (prescription dog food only available at vet offices) and informed me that they couldn’t assist my puppy because of staffing issues. They instructed me to contact my own vet. Upon doing so, my vet explained that not only were they fully booked, but my puppy needed emergency care that this clinic was incapable of providing. I then reached out to every vet in my county, only to receive the same response.Desperate for help, I took my puppy to Scarborough, where they identified the problem and prescribed the same dog food this clinic had recommended. Unfortunately, I was two hours away from Scarborough and 15 minutes from Brewer, which my vet was closed for the weekend. After spending $2,000.00 at Brewer, I called them to see if they could sell me enough cans to get through the weekend. The answer was a firm no. They even claimed they didn’t sell the product, despite my having a bill that proves they did. This experience has made it abundantly clear that this clinic prioritizes quick transactions over genuine care for sick animals.
May 18, 2025 · Marc VeilleuxI recently brought my dog in for an emergency situation, and while I’m very grateful for the care provided by Dr. Vagt, I feel obligated to share the deeply disappointing experience I had with the front desk staff. From the moment we walked in, the girl presented with attitude that was cold and dismissive. She spoke in a condescending tone, didn’t acknowledge the urgency of the situation, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a worried pet owner facing a stressful emergency. There was zero compassion in her demeanor—no eye contact, no empathy, no attempt to offer reassurance or even basic kindness. She seemed irritated by simple questions and came across as if she had no interest in being helpful or even doing the bare minimum to make a tense situation more manageable. She took my dog without much conversation regarding him, who has severe anxiety, put him out back very abruptly with little knowledge of his urgent situation and when he was crying did not let me give her any information which may benefit all involved. To add to that, our vet had called ahead and spoke with the clinic, she adamantly stated no one called HER and would not ask anyone else if they got a call so he could be appropriately placed in their triage line up for treatment.I want to be clear: this review is not a reflection of the veterinary staff or technicians—this was strictly about the experience at the front desk. Her rudeness was not just unprofessional; it was completely inappropriate for an emergency care setting where clients are already under immense emotional strain. However, once we were seen by Dr. Vagt, the experience completely turned around. Dr. Vagt (which is why this remained a 4 star review) was incredibly professional, compassionate, and thorough. He treated my dog with urgency, skill, and genuine care, explaining everything clearly and making sure I understood my options. I felt like my pet was in very capable hands, and his kindness made a world of difference during an otherwise traumatic day. While I am deeply thankful for the excellent medical care Dr. Vagt provided, I sincerely hope the clinic addresses the unacceptable behavior at the front desk. First impressions matter, especially in emergency situations—and this distasteful attitude created unnecessary distress in an already difficult moment.
