Let me begin with the comment we often see in leaving a bad review: If I could give this place ZERO star rating I would. This place is horrible from my view, especially in caring for their bettas. The two times I stepped into this place, I saw a lot of bettas were dead or dying. I learned their employee managing the Fish department only comes in three days a week. But to do the basic care for the bettas is not rocket science. Just regular water change and regular feeding could save a lot of them from getting sick or dying. Also adding a bit of aquarium salt (0.3% concentration) could help them recover in some cases (and how much does this cost? Ten bucks' supplies could last for months given how small the betta containers are). They simply do NOT CARE!Plus, I completely agree with other reviewers that some of their staff is just rude.To the store owner: please save your cookie-cutter reply and don't add it here to my review. Act is much more important. - Hua song

Petco Introduce

For pet owners across New York, finding a reliable and well-stocked local store for pet essentials is a key part of caring for our beloved companions. Petco in College Point, NY, aims to be a convenient destination for a wide array of pet supplies, food, and accessories. As a recognized name in the pet retail industry, Petco locations generally offer a broad selection designed to meet the needs of various types of pets, from dogs and cats to fish and small animals.

For many New Yorkers, the presence of a well-known pet store like Petco offers the promise of accessibility to a wide range of products. Whether you're looking for a specific brand of dog food, a new toy for your cat, or supplies for an aquarium, Petco typically stocks a diverse inventory. The convenience of a brick-and-mortar location in the local community allows pet owners to quickly pick up essentials, explore new products, or seek advice on general pet care.

However, like any large retail chain, individual store experiences can vary, and local feedback provides valuable insights. While Petco aims to provide a comprehensive pet care experience, customer reviews can shed light on specific areas of service and product availability at a given location. It’s important for local New York pet parents to consider these insights when choosing where to fulfill their pet supply needs.

One customer, in a critical review, expressed significant concerns regarding the care of specific aquatic animals. They stated, "If I could give this place ZERO star rating I would. Also adding a bit of aquarium salt (0.3% concentration) could help them recover in some cases... They simply do NOT CARE!" This review points to potential issues with live animal care and staff allocation in specific departments.

Another customer shared a frustrating experience regarding staff responsiveness and attitude: "Today, I took two kids to buy fish. The first time I spoke to a staff member, they told us to wait by the fish tank and that someone would come quickly. After waiting 25 minutes, I approached two different staff members separately, letting them know we wanted to buy fish. They both promised that someone would come soon, but instead, they helped other customers and completely ignored us. After 30 minutes, the kids were already feeling restless. I approached a staff member again, and he responded very rudely, saying we were interrupting him while he was helping other customers. There were only two employees in the store, and he had been busy running around working the whole time. His attitude was terrible. I told him that we had been waiting for a long time and just wanted to know how much longer it would take. The staff member continued to be rude, saying they were understaffed. I wonder, for such a large brand, is it really the customer’s fault if they are understaffed and provide such poor service? Is this a way to drive customers away? Every time we come to buy fish, we end up feeling mistreated. Other stores do not treat customers like this." These direct accounts highlight challenges related to customer service and staffing levels that potential visitors might encounter.
