I usually go to the Vetco in Greece with no issues. This time I wanted to go in on a different day and went to the one off Culver and it was awful. My dog is very attached to me and when I asked if I could go in the room with her they threatened to muzzle her and I insisted it wasn’t necessary. The techs were scared of my dog for no reason, stating my dog looked scared so they were scared. They fumbled around fishing for a vein and poked her multiple times in one leg before moving to another leg. They held her in such a way that her paws were sliding across the floor in a half sitting/half lying down position as another tech fished around and poked her again and again while the other tech was squeezing her so much my dogs face was turning pink. And then I was told I would get a 10% discount and they later on told me no. This was a terrible experience. And if you are afraid of certain dog breeds when the dog has not shown any aggression then this shouldn’t be your job. - Listenuphere95 17

Vetco Vaccination Clinic specializes in providing essential, preventative veterinary care services, primarily focusing on vaccinations and basic wellness checks. Their service model is designed for efficiency and affordability, making routine care accessible to a wide range of pet owners.

  • Dog Vaccinations: They offer a range of core and lifestyle-dependent vaccinations for dogs, including Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), Leptospirosis, Bordetella, and Lyme disease, depending on your pet's needs and local regulations. These vaccinations are crucial for protecting dogs from common and potentially serious diseases.
  • Cat Vaccinations: Similar to dogs, Vetco provides essential vaccinations for cats such as Rabies and Feline Distemper (FVRCP), along with Feline Leukemia (FeLV) for cats at risk. These immunizations help safeguard feline companions against prevalent viral and bacterial infections.
  • Microchipping: For pet identification and safety, Vetco Vaccination Clinic typically offers microchipping services. This permanent form of identification greatly increases the chances of a lost pet being reunited with its owner.
  • Parasite Prevention/Testing: Services often include heartworm testing and preventative medication, as well as testing and deworming for common intestinal parasites. These are vital for maintaining a pet's overall health and preventing the spread of parasites.
  • Basic Wellness Exams: While not as comprehensive as a full veterinary visit, Vetco usually includes a brief physical examination by a veterinarian or licensed technician before administering vaccinations. This check aims to ensure the pet is healthy enough for immunization.
  • Affordable Pricing: A key aspect of their service model is providing these preventative services at a more affordable price point compared to traditional full-service veterinary clinics, making essential care more accessible to the community.
  • Walk-in or Streamlined Appointments: Many Vetco clinics operate on a walk-in basis or with very streamlined appointment processes, designed to get pets in and out efficiently for their specific preventative care needs. While this can sometimes lead to wait times, it offers flexibility for busy pet owners.

This specialization allows them to streamline services and offer essential immunizations efficiently, making it easier for pet owners to keep their companions protected from common diseases.
  • Affordability: One of the most significant features of Vetco clinics is their competitive and often lower pricing for vaccination and basic wellness services compared to full-service veterinary hospitals. This affordability makes crucial preventative care more accessible to a wider range of pet owners in the New York community, ensuring that cost is less of a barrier to essential health measures.
  • Convenient Location: Situated on East Ridge Road, the clinic benefits from a highly accessible and visible location in Irondequoit. This central placement within a commercial area makes it easy for local residents to incorporate a vet visit into their daily routines.
  • Streamlined Service Model: Vetco clinics are designed for efficiency. While this can sometimes mean a different experience than a traditional vet, the intention is to provide quick and focused care for vaccinations and other routine preventative needs. This model can be advantageous for pet owners seeking specific services without needing a comprehensive, lengthy appointment.
  • Essential Health Offerings: Beyond just vaccinations, the typical inclusion of microchipping and basic parasite prevention/testing means that pet owners can address multiple core preventative health needs in one visit, contributing to comprehensive basic care for their animals.

It is important to note that while the clinic aims for efficiency and affordability, as indicated by some customer reviews, experiences regarding wait times, staff demeanor, and the extent of examinations can vary. Customers may report observations such as perceived rushed physical examinations or challenges with accompanying their pet into the examination room, reflecting a different operational approach compared to traditional veterinary practices.
