ARCC - Animal Rehab & Conditioning Center specializes in a targeted suite of services designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance the overall quality of life for animals. Their focus is on physical therapy and conditioning, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and specialized techniques.
Water Treadmill Therapy: This is a cornerstone service, highly praised by clients. The water treadmill allows pets to exercise in a low-impact environment, reducing stress on joints while building muscle strength and improving range of motion. It is particularly beneficial for recovery from surgery, managing arthritis, and improving mobility in geriatric pets, enabling them to move with greater ease and comfort.
Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Programs: ARCC develops individualized rehabilitation programs tailored to each pet's specific needs and condition. This includes a variety of modalities such as therapeutic exercises (e.g., balance exercises, controlled walking), manual therapies (e.g., massage, joint mobilizations), and modalities to reduce pain and inflammation.
Geriatric Mobility Enhancement: A significant focus is placed on helping elderly pets regain and maintain mobility. Through specialized exercises and therapies, ARCC aims to improve strength, balance, and endurance, allowing senior dogs to "get up on her own again and is even running at times," as noted by a grateful owner.
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: For pets recovering from orthopedic or neurological surgeries, ARCC provides crucial post-operative care. This helps to accelerate recovery, prevent muscle atrophy, reduce scar tissue formation, and restore function more effectively than rest alone.
Arthritis Management: For pets suffering from arthritis or other degenerative joint diseases, ARCC offers therapies to reduce pain, improve joint flexibility, and build supporting muscle, significantly enhancing their comfort and mobility. The recommendation for "injections for his arthritis" for Bandit, leading to "extra time with him," underscores their effective management of chronic conditions.
Strength and Conditioning: Beyond recovery, ARCC also provides conditioning programs for athletic dogs or those needing to build strength for specific activities, helping them maintain peak physical condition and prevent future injuries.
Pain Management Modalities: While specific modalities beyond water treadmill therapy aren't detailed in the provided reviews, a comprehensive rehabilitation center typically incorporates various pain-relief techniques, which may include therapeutic laser, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation, as part of a holistic pain management plan.

My wife, myself and our two French bulldogs travel in our RV full time so we are always looking for another place for water treadmill therapy for our injured pup. It is really amazing therapy and Dr Kennedy is a really amazing vet/physical therapist! May 05, 2024 · Brandon HillDr. K is the best!! She really knows her stuff and truly cares about each of her 4-legged patients. We appreciated her easy instructions teaching us how to exercise our senior dogs at home. We love the water therapy for both of our senior dogs too. Highly recommend!
Mar 27, 2023 · Sarah BakerDr Kennedy is treating my Dachshund mix Diego with hydrotherapy for rear hip issues from collapsed spinal discs of long standing and now his sister Frida for a shoulder bone spur. Both have improved dramatically and are acting younger for their 14 years. The exercise invigorates then and they are much happier. Dr Kennedy is very knowledgeable and skilled and kind to her patients. I recommend her highly.
