Read some of the reviews and I total disagree with the negative comments. I saw Dr Fisher for the first time in 1989 and when I moved to the OBX I continued to make the 3.5 hour drive for him to see my dog Maddie. I have never experienced anything but wonderful service from him and his staff. I still refer people to him and always will. He is not all about the $$, he’s about your pet and common sense, but like any Dr. he deserves to be paid for his services. Dr. Joel Fisher is and always will be the BEST Vet in Wake Co., or Dare Co. for that matter!!! - Shay DeLuca

Fisher Veterinary Hospital, led by Dr. Joel Fisher, embodies the spirit of a traditional, independently owned veterinary practice. Unlike larger corporate chains, this hospital appears to operate with a focus on long-term relationships, personalized care, and a straightforward approach to pet health. Their mission, as reflected in client testimonials, seems centered on providing practical, effective veterinary services where the pet's well-being and the owner's concerns are paramount, without an excessive focus on unnecessary procedures. Dr. Fisher himself is noted for his "common sense" approach, which resonates with many pet owners seeking direct and honest veterinary advice. This kind of established, community-rooted practice often builds a strong sense of trust and loyalty, as evidenced by clients who have continued to bring their pets to Dr. Fisher for decades, even after moving significant distances. For North Carolina pet parents who value consistency, experience, and a personal touch in their pet's healthcare, Fisher Veterinary Hospital offers a distinct option in the Raleigh area.

For residents of Raleigh and the surrounding North Carolina communities, accessing veterinary care is made convenient by Fisher Veterinary Hospital's location at 3700 Gresham Lake Rd, Raleigh, NC 27616, USA. This address places the hospital in a well-established area of Raleigh, making it reasonably accessible from various parts of the city. Gresham Lake Road provides direct access, helping pet owners navigate to the clinic with relative ease.

It's important to note that while the address is clear, clients should be aware of the hospital's operational style regarding communication. Based on client feedback, direct phone contact may be the primary mode of interaction for scheduling and record requests, and it may require persistence during busy periods. Given that there doesn't appear to be a comprehensive public website with online scheduling or a messaging service, planning appointments and communicating needs will primarily be done through phone calls during their operational hours. This traditional approach to accessibility means local users should factor in direct phone communication as their main way to connect with the clinic.

Fisher Veterinary Hospital, as a general practice animal hospital, offers a range of core veterinary services designed to address the common health needs of companion animals, primarily dogs and cats. For highly advanced orthopedic cases, they collaborate with board-certified veterinary orthopedic surgeons.

  • In-House Laboratory Tests: While not explicitly detailed, general practices typically offer basic in-house lab services for blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams to aid in quick diagnosis.
