Veterinary Emergency Services Reviews
I brought my Saint to this clinic on a Sunday with an intestinal blockage. He wouldn’t eat and even water came back up within an hour. Every other vet was closed for the weekend. VES quoted me $7,000 for surgery and $3,000 for overnight care, which I couldn’t afford as a college student. I paid $860 for fluids and meds to stabilize him, and was told he should make it through the night so I could transfer him to Anicira in the morning, where they could treat him for a lot less ($2,000).In the afternoon on that same day, he stopped breathing. I called begging for CPR instructions, and was told “They’re usually too far gone”. I tried everything, but he didn’t make it. The woman on the end of the line hung up without a second thought once I started crying. The next morning, someone from Anicira called to schedule his surgery. I was gutted. He could’ve made it. I lost my sweet boy because of the outrageous prices charged by the VES. Saint deserved better than to be treated like a financial decision. I have never been more devastated. I loved him more than anything in this world and I would’ve done anything to save him. But NO ONE has that kind of money lying around. You people are sick.
Apr 29, 2025 · Ezra JenkinsVES is absolutely wonderful! I think we literally say and talked to EVERY staff member of VES.I see a lot of bad reviews here for pricing. Well let me say this they are worth every penny!! and every one complaining about pricing I would HIGHLY recommend you not moving to Maryland the prices are double if not tripled! Now back to my story and my review instead of my rant.We came on vacation from Maryland (3+ hour drive) to Massanutten VA to stay at the resort. Vacation started off AMAZING UNTIL Monday night struck. My dog Kookie threw up like the a exorcist in a horror movie. She continued to vomit through Tuesday morning. VES is the ONLY vet office that would take us! and trust me I called around. We went in and found out that she had pancreatitis then late got Esophagitis. She got fluids, Anti Nausea shot, pain meds etc and I CHOSE to take her back to the resort since she was not in horrible condition. WELP my mistake! She ended up have bloody stools within 3 Hours of us being home so we went right back to VES. She was there from Tuesday Afternoon to Thursday Night. She has some little complications Friday afternoon went back to VES and had to get some anti diarrhea, fluids + Anti Nausea(this was to be on the safe side), and some fiber etc.Mind you my dog is NOT the one that likes to be away from me OR have slumber parties at the Vets. VES found that out quickly. So they ended up setting her up a bed with the ladies at the front in which she became much more relaxed. (She is an office dog as she does come to work with me.)The staff from the front desk to vet techs to the doctors were absolutely wonder. VERY friendly, Helpful, Keeping me up to date on everything got on, to keeping me updated with any financial changes and to her care I could not have asked for a better team / teams. (again we probably say everyone who worked in the building)I can not thank them enough for EVERYTHING they did for Kookie during our vacation!
Jun 24, 2025 · Amanda ArbaughIf I could give 100 stars I would. The staff was compassionate, courteous, and professional. The vet was calm and compassionate during our most difficult time. They showed kindness to my very old Great Dane I highly recommend and I wish they were my regular vet!
Apr 07, 2025 · Christine Fauber24 hour emergency vet services cost extra - they just do. That said, we brought our cat here with a leg injury (our usual vet was booked out for a week). Our wait time, with no prior booking, was about half an hour - which is more than reasonable. They had a a therapy cat, Miles, chilling in the window which helped to alleviate some of the compounded stress until we were seen. The staff was very kind, and overall, the service we paid for matched what we were expecting. We really had zero issues here and would definitely come back if we had to.
Jun 30, 2025 · Anh StanleyThis clinic only cares about money, not about the well-being of the animals they’re supposed to treat. They discharge pets as if they were healthy, but in reality, they send them home to die without offering a real solution or proper care.We brought our pet in with a serious condition, hoping for professional help. Instead, we were given false hope and a so-called "discharge" while our animal's condition kept getting worse. And when we tried to call back for help during a crisis, all they could talk about was how much everything would cost; no compassion, no urgency, just business. If you're looking for a place that truly values your pet's life, this is not it.
