Lyndhurst Animal Hospital Inc Introduce
Hello, New Jersey pet parents! When it comes to our beloved animal companions, their health and well-being are always a top priority. In the diverse communities across our state, finding veterinary care that is not only effective but also financially accessible can be a significant concern for many. Lyndhurst Animal Hospital Inc., located in Lyndhurst, NJ, presents a unique option for locals seeking essential veterinary services. While experiences vary, and some aspects might not align with every expectation of a polished clinic environment, many pet owners highlight the hospital's crucial role in providing life-saving care at remarkably affordable prices, often in complex or emergency situations. This article will offer a balanced perspective on Lyndhurst Animal Hospital, focusing on the reported strengths in treatment and affordability that make it a notable choice for pet owners in our New Jersey community.
Lyndhurst Animal Hospital Inc. is conveniently situated at 620 Ridge Rd, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071, USA. This location places it within a residential and commercial area of Lyndhurst, a well-connected town in Bergen County. Ridge Road is a main thoroughfare, making the hospital relatively easy to find and access by car from within Lyndhurst and neighboring municipalities. While specific public transportation details aren't provided, Lyndhurst is generally served by NJ Transit bus routes, which may have stops in the vicinity of Ridge Road, offering some public transit accessibility. For pet owners in surrounding towns in Bergen and even parts of Hudson County, the clinic's location provides a practical option without requiring a long journey into more congested urban centers. This accessibility is a key factor for those seeking veterinary care, especially when time is of the essence for a sick or injured pet.
Based on direct customer feedback and general veterinary practice, Lyndhurst Animal Hospital Inc. provides a range of veterinary services, with a notable emphasis on addressing critical and complex medical conditions. While comprehensive service lists aren't explicitly detailed, the reviews highlight their capability in specific, often urgent, areas. Their offerings likely include:
- Emergency and Urgent Care: A significant strength appears to be their ability to handle critical cases, such as the reported successful treatment of a cat with a urinary blockage, a life-threatening condition. They are equipped to provide immediate medical intervention for pressing health crises.
- Diagnostic Services: The ability to "find the underlying cause" of a serious condition implies the use of diagnostic tools to assess and identify health issues.
- Surgical Procedures: As evidenced by a review mentioning a cat's leg surgery, they conduct surgical interventions, though the outcome of one particular surgery was unfortunately tragic for a pet owner.
- Prescription Medication and Diet: The hospital provides necessary prescriptions and, in at least one instance, included a bag of specialized food as part of the treatment plan for a blocked cat, indicating a focus on comprehensive recovery.
- General Consultations and Examinations: While one review criticizes the thoroughness of routine check-ups, the hospital likely offers standard examinations. However, potential clients should inquire about the scope of routine visits to ensure it meets their expectations.
- In-patient Care: The successful recovery of a cat that "stayed there for almost a week" suggests the capacity for monitoring and extended care for hospitalized pets.
It is important for potential clients to directly inquire about the full range of services offered and the specific protocols for routine versus emergency care.
Lyndhurst Animal Hospital Inc. possesses several notable features and highlights, though some are accompanied by contrasting feedback from customers, creating a unique profile within the local veterinary landscape.
- Remarkably Affordable Pricing for Critical Care: This is by far the most significant and consistently praised feature. One customer, having previously incurred "enormous debt" at other clinics for a similar issue, found Lyndhurst Animal Hospital's price for saving their cat from a urinary blockage to be "not even a third of what I’ve paid elsewhere in the past." This affordability makes crucial, life-saving veterinary medicine accessible to pet owners who might otherwise face insurmountable financial burdens. As the grateful owner stated, "They have truly affordable prices that make it possible to save your best friend’s life."
- Effective Treatment for Complex Conditions: Despite concerns about initial presentation, the clinic demonstrates a clear ability to successfully treat serious and life-threatening conditions. The doctor's skill in diagnosing "the underlying cause" and providing effective treatment, even including post-discharge care like prescription food, is highlighted. One review noted, "he knows what he’s doing."
- Focus on Saving Pets' Lives: The narrative of the cat with the urinary blockage strongly suggests a clinic whose primary focus is on medical outcomes and saving lives, especially when faced with conditions that have previously led to tragic outcomes elsewhere.
- Direct and Unembellished Approach: While some may perceive the doctor's demeanor as "not the friendliest at first glance" or "always in a bad mood," it is also described as a no-sugarcoat approach. For some pet owners, particularly during stressful times, direct and factual communication about their pet's condition, even if blunt, is preferred over a bedside manner that might dilute the gravity of a situation.
However, it is also important to acknowledge recurrent concerns based on other customer feedback:
- Cleanliness and Facility Presentation: Multiple reviews mention that the hospital "isn’t exactly the cleanest," with descriptions of "nasty" offices and a lobby that "always smell like fecal feces." This suggests that the focus is heavily on the medical treatment itself, potentially at the expense of maintaining a pristine environment.
- Customer Service and Communication: While the doctor's medical expertise is praised, some reviews indicate dissatisfaction with aspects of client service, including perceived bad moods, feeling rushed during routine check-ups, and difficulty obtaining detailed budgets or breakdowns of costs.

Lyndhurst Animal Hospital Inc Reviews
Yes, most of the reviews are accurate. The hospital isn’t exactly the cleanest, and the doctor might not be the friendliest at first glance, but he knows what he’s doing. My cat was blocked, and we were extremely worried, especially because we had lost another cat with the same issue, and we went at two different clinics. Those places left us not only heartbroken but with enormous debt, because let’s be honest: medicine in this country is often just a business. At Lyndhurst Animal Hospital, that’s not the case. They have truly affordable prices that make it possible to save your best friend’s life. My baby stayed there for almost a week. The doctor found the underlying cause, gave the prescription, and even included a bag of food all within the final price, which wasn’t even a third of what I’ve paid elsewhere in the past.I’m beyond grateful.(PS. This is a picture of my cat the same day he came back home)
Jun 17, 2025 · Karla CifuentesThis place is a scam for sure.Since you walk in, you can see and feel the heavy bad vibes. I’ve been there 2 times.A girl went to pick up her 🐱 from a leg surgery and they give her the ashes in a box due to “complications”.We went for a regular routine checkup, but the “doctor” didn’t even check the ears, hearth beats, physical exams… you know, the regular. Always in a bad mood and trying to finish quick to see the next patient on the list. They try to sell you medicine that you pet doesn’t need, just for take your money. The office where he see the pets is very nasty, hygiene is something new for them I can’t even imagine the state of the operating room. The lobby always smell like fecal feces, even when they have 3 ladies in the front but nobody cleans at all.Asking for a budget? No possible. They invented the prices and don’t have a real budget for the cost of things so they aren’t able to give a breakdown of the budget that you request.I know their prices sound reasonable, compare to other expensive dog clinics on the area… but trust me, you don’t want to risk your lovely pet life on this nasty “doctor” hands. If you don’t like or at least care about animal… Why do you work there? Always the money greed.
Jun 17, 2025 · Victor HernandezWe had to try this place on behalf of our 2 cats because it was very close to our house and convenient. As stated in most of the reviews, it is incredibly dirty inside and the doctor never applies the right treatment. Last week, on behalf of my cat, whose urinary tract was completely blocked and had a stone in the bladder, a catheter had to be inserted and a bladder flushing procedure had to be performed, but every time I went to see my cat, the catheter was full of blood and my cat was lying on its own filth. He removed the catheter in our laps, took x-rays and sent my cat home without telling us about the stone in the bladder and without doing a blood test or ultrasound. My cat couldn't urinate all day and his abdomen was incredibly swollen. We went to the emergency room and my cat was catheterized with a bagged catheter, bladder flushing was performed and they literally drew 3 liters of bloody urine from it. My cat almost died. Yes, it may be cheap here, but your pet's life should be more valuable than anything else. He charged us 1800$ even though he did nothing and lied to us. Definitely does not deserve even 1$ and this is the only place that should be closed. I am very worried about my cat from now on and I regret that I stalled and gave him the wrong procedure and made it more serious. I don't want you to ever go here.
Oct 22, 2024 · Şevval BüyükbaranI’d like to start off by saying I don’t know how this place has even 3.8 stars and legally shouldn’t be running. I will also be writing a letter to Lyndhurst town regarding this animal hospital. I initially brought my cat here as it was in town and my usual vet is a half hour drive. I was concerned and wanted to bring my cat in because I saw blood around her behind area and she was in heat. I needed to get her spayed so I move forward to do (what I thought was) a pre-op. I usually look at reviews before I go anywhere but because I was so worried about my cat, I brought here to the closest animal hospital as soon as I could. Once I arrived, I immediately felt uncomfortable as the doctor was yelling in the back and the place looked filthy. When I got home, I started to read the reviews and decided I most definitely won’t allow my cat to go through a spay procedure with this animal hospital. So, I asked the hospital to send me the results so I could spay her with my usual animal hospital. (I’d mention the animal hospital as it’s absolutely amazing but I don’t want this review to seem like it’s biased). My primary vet had to stay on hold for almost an hour with Lyndhurst animal hospital just to receive results which they kept sending in the wrong file format that couldn’t be opened and in the end I had to come in person and ask them to print out my cat’s results. Come to find out, the ‘pre-op’ was actually just a felv test and not a complete CBC to see how my cat would react to local anesthesia. So, the front desk at Lyndhurst animal hospital verbatim said to me “since your cat tested positive for FELV, we wouldn’t spay her anyway because cats with FELV usually don’t live long lives anyway” without any further explanation. I took the results (which I attached a picture of) and made an appointment with my usual vet. I explained to them what happened in tears under the impression my cat was going to die. They did a rapid in-house felv test and got my results in 15 mins. They explained that my cat had slight exposure to FELV and DOES NOT mean that she can’t get spayed and that she will die. They informed me that when blood work gets sent to a lab, the result will come back negative or positive and usually doesn’t indicate the level of the virus in the blood. We then scheduled a date for my cat to have the surgery and she healed up perfectly and was told by the vet to come back in 3-6 months to check if the virus had left her system. I waited 3 months to write this review as my cat just came back with a negative test result for FELV and is completely healthy. I thank God that I didn’t spay my cat with Lyndhurst animal hospital and trusted my intuition. If you care about your pet, take them somewhere else and majority of the positive reviews on here are probably fake.
Jan 08, 2025 · Xona MacaniSo, our dog passed away. The vet said it was nothing to worry about. Well it was, he had another stroke as soon as we left. Healthy, bright dog. We went here because it was the closest. Not a good vet period.
