West Hills Animal Hospital & Emergency Center Reviews
Our cat swallowed a string that was about a foot and a half long on Easter. We researched this, and read that this could be very dangerous.Being Easter, our regular vet was not open. We took our cat to West Hills Animal Hospital right away. We were so grateful that they are open 24 hours, every day.The staff is very kind and attentive, the doctor who treated our cat was very knowledgeable and answered all of our concerns. We did not feel rushed at all.The fee was very reasonable, especially for such short notice. Our cat is doing well, thanks to West Hills.
Apr 25, 2025 · Joe IzzoDO NOT TRUST THE REVIEWS!I came to West Hills because the reviews were so great, only to have a HORRIBLE experience. They told me my dog needed a low dex test and a urinalysis to confirm if my dog had Cushing’s. Since I knew another vet that did the urinalysis for a cheaper price, I asked if I could have this test taken off for my appointment. This was confirmed by two separate receptionists and when I called the third time, I was told they didn’t know what I was talking about and that my appointment had been cancelled. After they convinced me to do both the low dex test and urinalysis at their site on a rescheduled appointment, my baby came with a huge wound on her chin. Once she was diagnosed with Cushing’s, I asked the vet if I could get an email with more information on my dog’s health so I could know what to be wary for. I was told, “We don’t do handouts.” I have cried multiple nights because this hospital’s cold and uncaring attitude, plus their receptionists’ incompetency in doing basic tasks.I have not yelled or demanded for things, and I have always waited patiently. Yet I have never been treated with the respect, that not only a customer deserves, but a human being deserves. Empathy is not a finite resource, and people who work at a place filled with animals should already know this. Unfortunately, the folks at West Hills don’t.DO NOT GO HERE.
Apr 30, 2025 · Priscilla PangI cannot thank West Hills Animal Hospital enough for saving my dog Bliss's life. When we brought her in, we were terrified, but the team acted quickly and efficiently, getting her in for life-saving surgery right away. Dr. Sauer was amazing- so kind, compassionate, and thorough. He explained everything in detail and provided us with frequent updates, which really put our minds at ease during such a scary time. Maddox explained the after-care schedule to me and sent me home with thorough paperwork and medication routine. The entire staff was incredibly supportive, and we felt like Bliss was in the best possible hands. We are so grateful for their expertise and care.Thank you, West Hills Animal Hospital, for giving us our sweet Bliss back!
Mar 10, 2025 · Amanda LapidusKind, caring, patient, clean and reasonably priced. They saved my dogs life, and were incredibly sweet to him. Danielle and Amy, vet techs, gave him so much love he seemed to want to stay. - Susan from Lindenhurst. I would travel here for their care.I have wished for one more hour with my deceased dog. They gave me more time- he has congestive heart failure, and had fluid in his lungs, but I can have him for another 6-12 months, maybe more.GO HERE. BEST VETERINARIAN ON LONG ISLAND! THANK YOU.
Jan 29, 2025 · Notgonna SayI use WHAH for my dogs’ regular veterinary care, have come for emergencies, and occasional boarding over the last 6 years and they are always so great. I have an “easy” dog and a “difficult” dog and all experiences here with them are good ones.We had an appointment yesterday for my girl Dakota and she was treated so very kindly by all of the staff. She’s very friendly but naturally nervous when she visits and the veterinarian, Dr. Szendry - as well as the vet tech and someone shadowing them - were all very patient with her and took extra time to give her praise and treats, making her feel comfortable for her exam. They even gave her the exam on the floor to make it more comfortable for her. They also took the time to discuss various care options with me that allowed me to strike a balance of getting her appropriate care while also figuring out a few cost saving measures. This experience was not unique; I’ve also had similarly terrific experiences with Dr. Rodriguez, Dr. Buckhanova, Dr. Won, and especially with Amy who makes sure my other extremely nervous dog is well taken care of whenever he boards with them, and sends me frequent updates and photos of him while I’m away.I always leave this office feeling grateful for all the ways in which they work with me and care for my beloved dogs!Picture of my sweet little lady, who is feeling much better already!
