The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center Reviews
I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to everyone involved in Otto’s care.Every single interaction I had with the staff at OSU’s Veterinary Hospital was professional, informative, and INCREDIBLY compassionate. When Otto’s condition was presented to be of greater severity than initially predicted, Dr. Pope presented multiple treatment plans with realistic outcomes and did not sugarcoat the severity of his condition. She approached the conversation of euthanasia with a nonjudgemental attitude and gracefully answered every single question I could think of to assist in my decision.Dr. Pope and additional support staff— including social work— were heavily involved during the entire process of Otto’s euthanasia, offering constant reassurance that I was making the right decision for my chronically-ill special needs boy.It is also important to note that Otto’s euthanasia occurred on a late Friday afternoon and his team likely worked overtime to assist us. We were not rushed by any means and were encouraged to take all of the time we needed.I cannot recommend this place enough for emergent pet care. Thank you to everyone involved in Otto’s care for making our final moments together more meaningful and most importantly, for sustaining his comfort level.
Mar 01, 2025 · Kelly DayWe took our black lab (Bucky) here a week ago and they were exceptional with him. All the Doctors and techs were amazing with him and us. They explained everything in detail and did everything they could to help Bucky. I’m so thankful, if it weren’t for this place we wouldn’t have Bucky today.. The 3 hour drive is well worth it.
Mar 18, 2025 · Debbie MaraneyI have nothing but good things to say about the Cardiology Department at the OSU Veterinary Medical Center. My cat Edgar was determined to be experiencing serious heart issues by my primary care veterinarian, and after recommendation, I decided to take little man here from the Cleveland area. They treated us like family from the moment we arrived, providing a comfortable room to discuss what Edgar was going through with a veterinary assistant. They conducted a series of tests and observations over about four hours and determined the problem. Dr. Jordan met with us to discuss in detail what was going on, and was extremely thorough, caring, and compassionate, going above and beyond to make sure Edgar got the best care possible. The cost was also very reasonable for the quality of care. I’ll forever be grateful for this medical center, and we’ll be back soon for follow up appointments.
Dec 28, 2024 · Kyle AuchterLast night was one of the hardest days of my life and the staff and doctors at OSU were so comforting. Having a pet for 14 years and having to say goodbye is hard. I want to thank to Vet and Staff for your care and support during one of my darkest days. Letting me spend as much time with my little girl for as long as I wanted was so thoughtful and needed. The process was smooth and pain free and I will be eternally grateful to you all.
Jul 05, 2025 · Tammy W.My family and I would like to thank Dawn in reception and Dr. Clapham for their tender loving care as we put our beloved Oliver to rest. They both were very sensitive to the situation, treated our family and Oliver like part of their family and helped us through a difficult time. We are very grateful you were both there at our time of need.
