Holly Tree Animal Hospital Reviews
We moved to the Greenville area 4 yrs ago with our 10+ yr old rescue dog. She spent the first 3 yrs of her life being abused and starved by her original family. Then we adopted her, and she became the best dog either one of us ever had. She did have some health issues over time so it was important for us to find a great Veterinarian when got to Greenville. Unfortunately, that was not an easy task. The first vet we saw tried to upsell us at the first visit including suggesting that our pet needed to have her teeth cleaned because her breath was bad. The Vet was masked against Covid and our pet had just had her teeth cleaned 3 months prior to this visit. We never went back.A few years later it was time for her teeth cleaning extractions of a few infected teeth with the new Vet. This was her third cleaning in seven years. When we picked her up , she was like a zombie. After speaking to our favorite Vet of many, many years from another state he told us the pain Rx was written for a dog several times larger. When we took her back for a follow up, I told the Vet about what happened and that she still looked infected. He really didn’t care and wasn't the least bit apologetic or concerned for her lack of an easier recovery. Again we never went back. Both these Vets had high ratings, when we chose them but I’m not sure if the ratings were even accurate. On to the next Vet. We were closing in on our fur babies last couple of years it showed. We chose Holly Tree Animal Hospital on HWY 14. . From the moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed by all the employees and Docs who seemed genuinely interested in her. Every time we went there, they took the time needed to explain every test and options. They wanted us to know all we needed to know re her aging, conditions, options so we could make the decisions we needed to make. We saw both Vets and loved them both. There was no upselling or any unnecessary tests. They gave us all the information we could possibly need to help our dog in her latter years. When it came to send her over the Rainbow bridge, they provided support and love as we said good bye to her. Everyone there seemed to be there for us as we went through the final goodbye. I highly recommend this group to everyone. The group reminded me of the old time Vets and office staff who were in their job because they loved animals. They didn’t need to upsell, etc. They just loved animals.I’m giving them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️………PCJ.
Jul 04, 2025 · Mike JacowayThe folks here really care. I've seen some reviews regarding price...and yes they are not the most economical but the care your animal will get is exceptional. Dr's Pate and Shrum and staff do everything they can to properly care for their patients. We have both of our dogs here for treatment and boarding and are very happy.
Mar 17, 2025 · Joseph N.My wife has already posted, but it took me a few days to try and comprehend the letter they sent to us. If you value compassion, professionalism, or basic decency, stay far away from Holly Tree Animal Hospital. My cat recently underwent an eye removal, a heartbreaking ordeal, and while the medical team seemed competent, the front office staff couldn’t have been more dismissive or rude. After politely providing feedback about their unprofessional behavior, we were told to ‘find another vet' via a letter. Imagine that...instead of addressing valid concerns, they essentially fired a loyal customer during one of the most emotional experiences a pet owner can face. It’s not just tone-deaf, it’s outright cruel. This clinic clearly doesn’t care about building trust or relationships, and the leadership obviously enables this toxic environment. Pets deserve better. Owners deserve better. If you love your animal and want to be treated with respect, do yourself a favor and find a clinic that actually values you. This place certainly doesn’t. At this point, I don't care about their response, as shallow as it may be.
Dec 19, 2024 · Rob CheyneI've only been to this place 3 times but each time they are very patient with me and all my questions. Dr. Pate is very thorough and efficient. Thank you guys so much for being awesome!Edit:I haven't gone anywhere else for vet care since I found this place! Dr. Shrum and Dr. Pate are amazing. The staff are so kind. We have 5 dogs and I love that they know them all by name. Very knowledgeable, caring, animal loving group of people ❤️
Mar 28, 2025 · Crystal KeithDr. Pate at Holly Tree Animal Hospital has helped our pets through some tough times, always with great kindness, knowledge, and compassion. He has patiently answered our many questions and walked us through all our options. On the day a couple of years ago when we arrived without warning at the clinic door with our beagle emergency, he was there for us (the beagle made a full recovery). Recently, he has helped us with our beloved geriatric cat. If you are looking for a vet hospital with wonderful doctors and outstanding staff and service, look no further than Holly Tree! Highly recommend
