Disappointing. I was hoping to find a trusted vet closer to home, but this is not it for me and my babies. When we walked in, there were 3 ladies at the counter and no one greeted us. I had to say hello once at the counter. Our appointment was at 2 pm, which was when they started their afternoon appointments. I generally like scheduling my appointments first thing in the morning when companies first open or right when they open back up from lunch to ensure a speedier in and out time. That was not the case here. It took quite a while before the actual vet came in. The examination room had so much hair in it, that we were both covered by the time we left. There was a urine stain running down the interior examination door. The appointment felt rushed by the vet at the end when I had follow-up questions. The diagnosis was my baby tore her ACL and her luxating patella had gone from a low grade 1 to a 3/4 it was recommended by the vet to get the surgery as soon as possible, yet they never sent over the information on the visit, the surgery needed, or the quote for the surgery. Our appointment was at 2:00 p.m. Thursday and I had to call that following Tuesday to get the info which I was told had not been prepared and I would have to wait on until she was available at a later date. Between the lack of personal touch, the uncleanliness, and the lack of follow-up, there is no way I will trust this establishment to take care of someone without a voice that means the world to me. - Kim

Features / Highlights

Northwest Animal Hospital presents a mixed picture based on customer feedback, highlighting both strong positive aspects and areas of concern.

  • Dedication and Responsive Care (Positive): One review strongly praises the clinic for going "above and beyond everything" for a seven-week-old puppy. The promptness in emailing vet notes and a veterinarian returning to the clinic for extra notes speaks to a high level of dedication and client support, which is invaluable for new pet owners. This suggests a team that cares deeply and is willing to exert extra effort.
  • Long-Standing Reputation (Implied Positive): Public information notes that the hospital has been well-established, with Dr. Wendy Camp taking ownership in 2019 after 28 years of experience. This indicates a legacy of care in the community. The practice's growth leading to a new building also points to a generally positive reception over time.
  • Comprehensive In-House Capabilities (Positive): The wide array of services, especially the extensive surgical options performed in their "state-of-the-art surgical suite," highlights a significant investment in advanced medical care. This means pet owners may not need referrals to external specialists for many complex procedures, offering convenience and continuity of care.
  • Professionalism and Responsiveness to Information Requests (Positive/Mixed): While one review lauded promptness in providing notes, another indicates a significant lapse in providing crucial information (visit details, surgery quote) for a serious diagnosis, requiring follow-up calls over several days. This suggests an inconsistency in information delivery and follow-up, which is a critical point for client satisfaction.
  • Client Service and Welcoming Atmosphere (Mixed/Concern): A major concern raised in one review points to a "lack of personal touch" at the front desk, with no greeting upon entry. This initial impression can be crucial for establishing comfort and trust with new clients.
  • Clinic Cleanliness and Organization (Concern): A significant negative highlight involved the "uncleanliness" of the examination room, with visible hair and a "urine stain." This directly impacts client confidence in hygiene standards and overall professionalism.
  • Perceived Rushed Appointments and Lack of Follow-Up (Concern): The same negative review felt the appointment was "rushed by the vet at the end" when asking follow-up questions, and there was a "lack of follow-up" regarding crucial surgery information. This can lead to feelings of being unheard and uncared for, particularly when facing serious health decisions.
