Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care Introduce
For pet owners across Virginia, especially those in the southwestern region, the health and well-being of our animal companions are paramount. While our primary veterinarians handle routine check-ups and preventative care, there are times when our pets need immediate medical attention that falls outside of regular office hours, but isn't necessarily a full-blown, critical emergency requiring a 24/7 emergency hospital. This is precisely the crucial gap filled by Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care, a dedicated facility right here in Meadowview, VA, designed to provide timely and compassionate care when your pet needs it most, but isn't facing an immediate life-or-death situation.
Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care understands that pet health concerns often don't adhere to a 9-to-5 schedule. They are specifically structured to address those sudden illnesses, minor injuries, or worsening chronic conditions that require prompt attention but can wait a few hours, or that you simply can't get into your regular vet for. Their mission is to offer a vital intermediate option between your family veterinarian and a full-scale emergency room, often saving pet owners significant time, stress, and expense. What truly sets them apart, as consistently echoed by local residents, is the profound empathy and kindness extended by their staff, particularly during the most challenging and heartbreaking moments of a pet's life. This compassionate approach ensures that even in distress, both pets and their owners feel supported and cared for.
Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care is conveniently located at 29231 Lee Hwy, Meadowview, VA 24361, USA. Its position on a well-known highway makes it easy to find, even for those traveling from a distance, which is often the case when seeking urgent care.

Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care focuses on providing prompt and effective treatment for a range of non-life-threatening urgent conditions. While they are not a 24/7 emergency hospital equipped for critical, overnight care, they are adept at handling numerous issues that require immediate attention:
Acute Illnesses: Treatment for sudden onset conditions like vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, coughing, sneezing, and fever.
Minor Injuries: Assessment and care for cuts, scrapes, minor wounds, limping, mild lameness, and sprains.
Allergic Reactions: Addressing hives, facial swelling, itching, and other non-severe allergic responses.
Ear and Eye Problems: Diagnosis and treatment for ear infections, eye discharge, squinting, or minor eye irritations.
Urinary Issues: Evaluating and treating urinary tract infections, frequent urination, or straining, provided there is no complete blockage (which would require a 24/7 emergency facility).
Pain Management: Providing relief for pets experiencing acute pain from injuries or sudden conditions.
Gastrointestinal Upset: Managing upset stomachs, dietary indiscretions, and mild cases of vomiting or diarrhea.
End-of-Life Care and Euthanasia: As profoundly highlighted by client reviews, the clinic provides deeply compassionate and supportive services for families facing the difficult decision of saying goodbye to a beloved pet. They allow ample time for farewells and ensure a gentle, peaceful process.
In-House Diagnostics: Likely equipped with tools for rapid assessment, such as blood work and potentially X-rays, to aid in quick diagnosis.
Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care is particularly valued for several key features that resonate strongly with the Virginia pet-owning community:
Specialized Urgent Care: They fill a vital niche by providing care for urgent conditions that don't warrant the expense or intensity of a 24/7 emergency room but cannot wait for a regular vet appointment.
Extended Evening and Weekend Hours: Their operating hours are specifically tailored to address needs that arise after most primary veterinary clinics close, offering a crucial resource during evenings and weekends (confirm exact hours directly as they can vary).
No Appointment Necessary: While it's always advisable to call ahead for a rundown of what to expect, they operate on a walk-in basis, which is highly beneficial for unexpected urgent situations.
Exceptional Compassion and Empathy: This is consistently highlighted in patient testimonials, especially concerning end-of-life care. The staff are described as incredibly kind, gentle, and understanding during devastating times, allowing families the time and space they need to say goodbye.
Highly Informative and Communicative Staff: Clients praise the team for keeping them informed, explaining procedures and options clearly, and ensuring pet owners understand their pet's condition and treatment plan.
Professional and Caring Veterinarians: The vets are noted for being humble, caring, and dedicated to providing the best possible care, even under challenging circumstances.
Life-Saving Care: As evidenced by a specific review, the clinic has been instrumental in saving pets' lives through their prompt and effective interventions for urgent conditions.

Meadowview Veterinary Urgent Care Reviews
For a devastating ending, the staff was so kind and for that I will always be greatful.I went in last Tuesday after getting back from a 3 day camping trip my boy seemed fine before we left well when we got back my boy was breathing very heavy and his belly looked a bit rounder but his food was untouched. Not normal for him cause he loved to eat. It was already 7 o'clock at night and I was worried. My vet reccomend I go ahead and go into an emergency vet. And gave me this number. We loaded up and we're there a little before 9pm, i live over an hour away. When we got there they got him right back and agreed he was breathing very heavy and his belly looked to be full of fluid. I agreed to further testing and about 2 hours later the vet came back and basically said my boy was in late stage heart failure. They gave me options for medication to try but said ultimately nothing was going to fix it or make it better it would just delay the inevitable and what time he had left wouldnt be of quality. So to say I was devastated was an understatement, I had spend 13 years of his 17 years of life with him by my side, we where thick as thieves, he was my soul mate. I ultimately made the decision to have him put to sleep because I knew he was just suffering for me. The staff was so gentle with him and me as I cried and held my boy, I never imagined walking in that he wouldnt be coming home with me alive. They gave me as much time as I wanted to say goodbye. So I wanted to say thank you so much for giving my best friend the peace he needed, I will forever be grateful. To my boy, 13 year was never enough but thank you for spending your life with me, forever my boy Hannibal 💔🤍🖤🤍🖤
Jun 16, 2025 · KyleighStaff was super nice! We called ahead and they gave us a run down of what to expect. Even coming in right before close, they were so kind. They provided our dog with the best care and saved her life. They really kept us informed and explained everything they were doing. The vet was a humble guy who really cared. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Dec 31, 2024 · Tab SomersDr. Hahn and his crew are class acts. I'm so thankful to have them so close to home!Last night I utilized them for the first time. I came in at 11:57pm 3 minutes before closing with a VERY sick young cat. I could see how tired they were and I absolutely hated to come in so late. As soon as they saw it wasn't a trivial matter they went full-staff on helping me and my boy Stache (aka- Johnny Stache- the kitten in black). Long story short, after an hour and a half past closing time and exhausting all remaining hope, Stache and I had to say our goodbyes. They took such good care of us and gave him the most peaceful transition to sleep you could ever ask for. They even gave me plaster hearts with his paw prints on them as a personal gift.I fully expected to pay what I'd call the "convenience store" sort of inflated price. But they were actually very fair on pricing. The only complaint I could possibly make isn't a complaint, it's a cry for help: They need more staff in order to be able to expand their hours. Especially in order to give very much needed weekend care. All they have is Dr. Hahn and 3 technicians. I wish I could help them in that way, maybe I'll find a way that I can... Until then, a good review and word of mouth is the best I can do. Thank you so much!
Apr 04, 2025 · Austin PatrickThe staff here took my 11 year old chihuahua in immediately. Diagnosed what could of been a life threatening issue and corrected it over night. The staff genuinely cares about my Buddy and were so understanding with my stress. They explained every step they were taking and comforted me as well. The staff was so professional while being compassionate at the same time. Thank you guys for saving my Buddy.
Jun 20, 2025 · Nick EnderleBrought my cat, Robbie, in as he had serious bleeding coming from his mouth. Turned out he had just bit through his lip with one of his canine teeth. Dr. Hahn and his staff were incredible. They made me feel as though I had been a client there forever. Robbie is a diabetic cat and even though that wasn't why I was there, Dr. Haha discussed his diabetes with me. His staff was friendly and made me comfortable. I would absolutely use this office again for emergencies. The office was clean and welcoming.
