Jun 18, 2025 · Teri NineRecently brought my new baby bearded dragon here to set up care and just make sure they were healthy. I’m so so glad I did. The staff is absolutely wonderful!! Very knowledgeable, caring, and explained everything they were doing and why. This is THE place! Thank you Avian and Exotics Center for helping care for my Dythalla
Jun 02, 2025 · Lillian ClaytonI’m writing this with a heavy heart and a lot of frustration. I called this clinic the night before an emergency visit for my exotic pet. I’m not a member, but I left a message anyway, hoping they’d show basic compassion. To their credit, someone did call me back at 8:02 AM—right when they opened. I was told they were booked for the day, but they might be able to fit me in on an emergency schedule. I said yes, absolutely, I’d pay whatever was needed. She said she’d check with the doctor and let me know. She never called back. No follow-up, no update, no “we’re sorry, we can’t help.” Nothing. I waited. My pet waited. We were both in distress. It’s now a full day later. If you market yourself as a clinic that sees exotics and claims to care about emergency cases, then follow through. Or at least have the decency to communicate when you can’t. This silence wasn’t just unprofessional—it was cruel.Fortunately, the wonderful people at Priest Lake Vet did step up. They got me in at 5 PM the same day, showed compassion, and gave my pet the care he desperately needed.
May 31, 2025 · Alexa HackettWonderful place to take your exotic pets. Utmost care, respect, and love from the staff here.Very reasonable pricing, thorough and in-depth explanations on conditions and how to remedy, and loads of knowledge to set you and your babies off on the right track to recovery. I am from out of state, 4 hours away, and I'm glad I made the trip here. My other vets said my rat, Shadow, was basically on life support for respiratory infection and wouldn't live long. Scarred lungs, etc.The doctor here said that there was no scarring in the lung xrays, explained what she looks for, and said crackling and other signs of RI were basically non-existent while the other vets I've gone to would say she is on her last limb. She prescribed an alternative antibiotic option in case current treatment failed and expressed confidence that my baby will recover and that in terms of respiratory infections, my rat is nowhere close to the point where concern for euthanasia should be considered, unlike my other vets. They don't offer services for 'normal' pets like cats and dogs due to they predator-prey relationship between many exotics and them, and that's completely sensible and great. All in short, if you need services for your exotic family member creatures, just do it.
