When choosing a veterinary care provider in Texas, it’s important to weigh a variety of factors, and while Banfield Pet Hospital offers a convenient model, prospective clients should be aware of all aspects of the service. On one hand, the wellness plan model can be a great benefit for budgeting and ensuring a pet receives consistent, preventative care. The hospital’s capacity to handle a wide range of services from diagnostics to surgery provides a comprehensive solution for many pet owners.
On the other hand, the public reviews for this particular location raise serious concerns that potential clients should be aware of. One review describes a situation where a “comprehensive annual exam” was seemingly completed in a matter of minutes, without the necessary diagnostic tests being performed. The client's concern was heightened when the vet gave a cavalier "yes, no problem" to a question about spaying a 12-year-old dog with known kidney issues, without any updated lab results. This points to a potential issue with the thoroughness of care. A separate review highlights a major problem with the managerial and front desk staff, describing the manager, Lindsey, as rude, entitled, and aggressive toward both clients and employees. This kind of behavior can create a hostile and unpleasant environment, regardless of the quality of veterinary care itself. The review strongly advises others to go elsewhere to avoid this poor customer service.
While the Banfield Pet Hospital network and its offerings are designed to be convenient, these negative reviews underscore the importance of attentive, empathetic, and professional service. A lack of clear communication and a perceived lack of thoroughness in exams can be a major source of stress and disappointment for pet owners who are entrusting their furry family members to the care of others. Therefore, while this Banfield location may offer a comprehensive list of services, it may be worth exploring other options in the Houston area if customer service and a personalized, thorough approach to care are top priorities.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I took my dog in for what was supposed to be a comprehensive annual exam at around 3:05 PM. To my surprise, I was told at 3:10 PM that he was already ready to go. How can a full physical exam, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal testing, be completed in just five minutes? They did nothing of course! To make matters worse, the front desk staff member who assisted us, Today Friday around 3 PM was rude and dismissive. There was no clear communication or willingness to explain what had or hadn’t been done during the visit. My dog was only inside for about 3 minutes before they told me he was done, does that really count as an annual exam?Even more concerning, I asked the veterinarian whether it would be safe to spay my 12-year old dog who has known kidney issues. Without any updated lab results or a thorough check up, she immediately answered, “Yes, no problem.” That level of care feels extremely irresponsible and unprofessional. We used our available annual exam, but got no answers, no real evaluation, and no peace of mind. I’m very disappointed with this experience.
July 18 · Andrea PovedaThis place is absolutely atrocious. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. The number one problem? Lindsey, the so-called manager. Her attitude is beyond unacceptable — she’s rude, entitled, and treats everyone around her like they’re beneath her.The way I’ve heard her talk to both customers and her own employees is shocking. It’s aggressive, demeaning, and flat-out disrespectful. I truly don’t understand how someone like that is allowed to manage anything, let alone interact with people. It creates a hostile and uncomfortable environment for everyone. If you’re looking for good service or basic human decency, this is not the place. Save your time, your money, and your peace of mind — and go literally anywhere else.
June 25 · Iris YanezAbsolutely love this team! From Lynsey the manager, to Brian one of the CSCs to the team in the back. Lynsey always goes above and beyond for every client that walks in the door. You can truly tell that she leads her team with respect and dignity. You can always tell when its a good environment when you walk in. Especially when Brian is working. He is so happy and always so helpful.
June 25 · Emily HerringDr. Sanabria is the absolute BEST veterinarian. He is the only vet that I trust to see my pets. He is extremely kind, knowledgeable, and amazing at what he does. Anyone who knows him, knows he really cares about his patients and the relationship he has with his clients. I always recommend him when someone is looking for an exceptional veterinarian. The CSCs Brian and Christopher were amazing as always!
July 04 · Brianna Maegen*If you’re debating on a vet , TRUST THE REVIEWS & CHOOSE VCA.* Have had a couple of experiences with Banfield. 1st was the worst, after 2 different types blood tests, which came back normal, was told because my dog is not spayed she was most likely going to die from this condition unspayed dogs get (she was only 2 years old) & told if I wasn’t prepared to spend thousands of dollars that she wouldn’t heal and would most likely die. I was sent home in LITERAL TEARS with antibiotics and an essentially “dying” dog. After a day of antibiotics and draining an abscess MYSELF at home, cause they didn’t want to do it without MORE TESTS, she returned to her happy self!. When they call 48 hours later for a follow up and I told them all I got was “oh good” and a hang up. That was 2 years ago, never went back until recently. I explained to the nurse & doctor she was also towards the end of her heat( super light spotting) & showing mild symptoms of a UTI which they agreed on based on the information I gave them. (I have had her since a baby and her cycle usually drains some of her energy but she’s back to her energetic self towards the end. ) they ALSO told me about the same disease the previous vet mentioned & they wouldn’t prescribe her the antibiotics without a UA & blood test although I thoroughly explained how almost all symptoms from previous week subsided, other than a frequency to go (which she was also better better at) , and due to first encounter of paying $$ for tests that were essentially completely useless, I am sure a round of antibiotics would get her and if they don’t, we can revisit other recommended screening. My baby is extremely energetic and was ready to play with them throughout the entire encounter. Doctor explained she wasn’t comfortable with prescribing the antibiotics I mentioned I gave her that HELPED late last week and that is her prerogative, however from MY experience with Banfield, it’s not about the actual clients but ultimately on making a sale. They are SALES-FOCUSED and the wellbeing of your animals feel like the genuinely don’t matter unless you ready to agree to whatever test they recommend you and EVEN STILL you may not get an answer. Anywho, VCA pet hospital & Dutch virtual vet has been a great help in providing answers and solutions to the problems of my babies!
