Cascade Hospital for Animals Introduce
When it comes to the health and happiness of your beloved pets in Grand Rapids, Michigan, finding a veterinary practice that offers comprehensive, compassionate, and state-of-the-art care is paramount. Cascade Hospital for Animals has been a well-known name in the community for decades, offering a wide array of services that extend beyond a typical veterinary clinic. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, a dog day care center, and a professional pet groomer, they are uniquely positioned to serve as a one-stop-shop for all your pet’s needs. The hospital is built on a foundation of long-standing community ties and a commitment to providing advanced medicine with a personal touch.
For nearly 70 years, Cascade Hospital for Animals has been a cornerstone of veterinary care in Grand Rapids. The business is a family-owned animal hospital spanning three generations of the Siegle family, which has cultivated deep community roots. This history is a testament to their dedication to the well-being of the city’s pets. They have continuously evolved their services and facilities to keep up with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, all while maintaining a focus on building lasting relationships with their clients and their pets. Their commitment to low-stress handling and their Cat-Friendly Practice certification reflect a deep understanding of animal behavior and a desire to make every visit as comfortable as possible for your furry family member.
While the hospital has a long and respected history, it's worth noting that client experiences can vary. A review from a long-term client who was with the clinic for 47 years details a very negative experience with scheduling, a rude staff member, and a lack of communication from the owners, ultimately leading to them being asked to find a new vet. This shows that even well-established businesses can face challenges and that individual experiences can be highly personal. On the other hand, another client who traveled two hours for care for their pup after a surgical complication at another clinic had an overwhelmingly positive experience. They praised the staff for their compassion, knowledge, and efficiency in a critical situation, highlighting the quality of the medical and technical team. This mix of feedback indicates that while there may be some operational challenges, the core medical care and the expertise of the vets and technicians are highly regarded.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The office has changed and not for the better..We have taken all of our pets there since 1978, 4 cats (2 adopted from their clinic), 4 golden retrievers). The last visit was not good at all and they asked us to find a new vetIt started with trhem asking we change our appointment day and time but my schedule wouldn't permit their suggested NEW TIME so I asked it be changed to a different day and time.. Someone in their office didn't change it on their records and the staff member (girl with both arms tatooed was extremely rude.)Then...SHE accused me of missing my appointment and charged me an advance charge of $100 and claimed we had a $200 balance that had to be paid before our cat could be seen. WHICH i did immediately.I always pay before we leave but they, excused me and said they bill me. (the mysterious balance of $200! It had to be paid before they'd see us). I paid not knowing where the $200 charge came from.Well, they did find another vet who had an hour open, we were seen however the original clerk (tatooed arms)was VERY rude. I tried to show her the text-- she refused to look she tried to send us away. Said I missed our appointment! (Turns out that employee is related to a Seigel.) Another clerk saw a one hour opening with a new vet (seems like most of the vets are new).Next I received an email removing us as clients from Clayton Siegel not an applogy just a brief message after 47 years. 4 cats (2 adopted from their clinic), 4 goldenssaying they would no longer see our pets. omg 47 years!!!!When I got my home a week ago I called and asked for an accounting of all the charges for 2024 to 2025. To date Ive not received it.Also when I checked in or tried to they spelled my name wrong and accused me kf missing our appointment..I called them and asked for our records the last 2 years.Still waiting for those records. So, now after nearly FIFTY YEARS we need to find a new vet. Which at this point I will gladly doI do not RECOMMEND THIS CASCADE OFFICE ANY LONGER! 47 YEARS.
August 14 · karen auwersAfter surgery complications at another vet and several ER visits over the weekend, our pup needed some immediate wound care. Cascade got us in within 24 hours! They were compassionate, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient throughout the whole process even knowing that we would eventually be finding a more local vet for long term care (we live 2 hours away). Amazing care and support from the front desk, tech intake and vet performing procedure. Vet talked to us before procedure and then called us after with detailed information and answered all of our questions. The front desk was so helpful gathering records from er and other vet and sending them all to me digitally to have for future care. Great place! It is expensive, but they are willing to help! Teddy is in his way to recovery!
May 28 · Tracy WoodCascade Hospital for Animals is wonderful. The staff are all so nice and helpful and really care about your pets. My dog hated every other vet, but was actually excited every time I brought him here because they treat animals so well. Highly recommend!
March 31 · Michaela McQuestionThe staff at Cascade Hospital for Animals have been awesome for my rescue buddy, Mr. Cash, our English Bulldog. They all love on him like he was their own and have been wonderful as we navigate the care needs for my formerly neglected fur friend.
May 22 · Brian RushKnowledgeable staff, vet techs and doctors are just a phone call away. Multiple separate rooms at the center for cats and dogs. Surgical suites, prescription food supply, leashes, treats and more are available in the store section. They have separate entrances for cats and dogs to keep the peace. Ample parking and a dedicated rewards program. What more could you ask for.
