What is worth choosing
Choosing a veterinarian is a deeply personal decision, and for Texans, a key factor is finding a practice that offers both expertise and empathy. Companion Animal Hospital in Denton is a strong candidate for several reasons. One of the most compelling is the personalized, patient-focused care that a client noted in a review. The reference to Dr. V taking his time and being "great with our dog" demonstrates a commitment to building a trusting relationship with the animal, especially a "grumpy" one. This kind of care goes beyond a simple transaction; it shows a genuine love for animals and a dedication to their well-being. This is a crucial element for anyone who considers their pet a member of the family.
Another significant reason to choose Companion Animal Hospital is their ability to provide comprehensive and emergency services. The fact that they can handle everything from a routine dental cleaning to urgent, life-threatening situations provides immense peace of mind. Knowing there is a single, trusted location that can address both everyday needs and unexpected crises is invaluable for any pet owner. This includes their special focus on small and exotic animals, which can often be a challenge to find specialized care for in the area.
However, it is important for potential clients to be aware of the range of experiences reported. While some clients, like the one praising Dr. V, have overwhelmingly positive interactions, there are also negative reviews that speak to serious concerns about customer service and professional conduct. One particularly troubling review describes a highly negative experience with a rude and unhelpful staff member, an alleged inappropriate diagnostic demonstration, and a refusal to provide replacement medication. This highlights that, like any business, individual experiences can vary.
Ultimately, for those seeking a full-service animal hospital that offers comprehensive care for both common and exotic pets, and has the capacity to handle emergencies, Companion Animal Hospital is worth considering. Its strengths lie in the breadth of its services and the positive, personal relationships that many clients have formed with the professional team. Prospective clients should take both the positive and negative feedback into account and perhaps call the clinic or read additional reviews to make an informed decision that best suits their and their pet's specific needs and comfort level.

August 18 · Colby E.If I could leave this place 0 stars I would. The worst customer service I’ve ever recieved in my life. They do not care about animals. Tried to hit me in the face while I was there to demonstrate how my animal could be going blind??? would barely look at my rabbit and gave me eye drops and said she was blind. Which she is not. Then when I called with more questions they were extremely rude and told me to go somewhere else. Wouldn’t give me replacement eye drops. Wasted 80 dollars. They said I should have called a few days earlier I said I was scared because they were barely helpful in the first place. No one should feel scared to get help for their own animals because of how rude and unhelpful an animal clinic is. Go somewhere else is what they told me. Take their own advice.
February 28 · nicole hedgeDr. V. diagnosed my cat with a cancer that usually kills in a month or two. She is 15 months in and was snuggling in my arms this morning. I know she wont be here forever, but these extra months have been a true blessing. If he hadnt caught it early and got her started on meds, i wouldnt have her. I can't recommend them enough, and can't explain how grateful i am for him and his staff.
August 23 · David WagnerI have been taking my animals here for almost 9 years. Started with my cat and now my 2 dogs. Everyone here is the best. The techs, front desk, and the vet! Great service for our fur babies and they truly care. I want the best for my animals and I know I get that taking them here to companion! THANK YOU!
December 31 · Logan MorenoFirst time going to this vet. Everyone was really nice. The visit was quick but the doctor asked me lots of questions and took the time to be gentle with my cat. He was even friendly to my wild toddler. Pricing was great. They were understanding about why I hadn't gotten my indoor cat vaccinated in awhile. My cat would get a large lump at her injection site with her old vet and this new vet gave her a precautionary shot of steroids and allergy meds to prevent that because those lumps can turn into cancer.Definitely happy with the visit.
