Crater Road Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Absolutely amazing staff and doctors. I have been going here for two years and just recently lost my old Border Collie. They handled her diagnosis, treatment, and euthanasia with care and compassion. They have always been very responsive, respectful, and honest with both of my dogs.
May 16, 2025 · AlisonAfter telling the Vet my dog does not like pills he gave them anyway and I had to go back and pay for a cream costing me almost $75. All my appointment were cancelled and I am going to another hospital next time.
Jun 12, 2025 · Lisa BrownThe staff here is terrible. I can’t review the vets because I couldn’t get an appointment even with extenuating circumstances (do these people not leave a slot open for emegencies?)They pretend to be polite with “sirs” and “‘mams” but the staff is unsympathetic and horrible. My dad passed away, and I had to get his very aggressive cat back to New Jersey with me and they were ZERO help and they were extremely rude to me. They locked me and my three-year-old out of their building in the pouring rain before any sort of discomfort between us. Everything I asked of them for help, their answer started with, “Well, unfortunately”. Zero effort.HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ON A HORRIBLE DAY! Zero sympathy! DISGUSTINGMy mom and dad had been taking their cat here for years. They have spent so much money at this place. I know that because they would call me after that visit to tell me how the vet went for Teah. Still, when Teah needed them for comfort for a long uncomfortable journey, nothing.TERRIBLE PEOPLE!
Apr 12, 2025 · Jessica DeBenedettoMy dog stopped breathing during a routine nail trim after showing extreme signs of distress, and the vet ignored every warning sign until it was too late.I’ve been bringing my dogs to this clinic for over 10 years, but since Dr. Kenny left, the standard of care has gone downhill. On this visit (6/16/25), my healthy 4-year-old dog became so panicked during a simple nail trim that he urinated and defecated on himself, a clear red flag that he was overwhelmed and the procedure should’ve been stopped. Instead, they kept restraining him until he stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated.Afterward I received almost no explanation. When I asked questions, Dr. Regetz responded with immediate defensiveness instead of professionalism. Her attitude made it clear that accountability wasn’t a priority. My dog is now traumatized. I’ve filed a formal complaint with the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine. If you love your pet, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for care.
