If you are driving, while parking in Hoboken can sometimes require patience, the central location on Washington Street means there are typically metered street parking spots or nearby parking garages. It is always a good idea to factor in a little extra time for parking, especially during peak hours. The street-level presence of the hospital also ensures ease of access for pets, including larger dogs or those with mobility challenges, contributing to a smoother and less stressful arrival.

It is important for clients to inquire about specific services and capabilities directly, especially concerning advanced diagnostics, specialized surgeries, or emergency care protocols.
Hoboken Animal Hospital PA: Martin Emmanuelle DVM is highlighted by several features that contribute to its service and reputation among local pet owners in New Jersey.
- Prompt Appointment Availability for Urgent Needs: A key highlight is their ability to accommodate urgent appointments quickly, as demonstrated by their capacity to see a pet in pain the very next day when an old vet was fully booked. This responsiveness is invaluable for concerned pet parents.
- Friendly and Knowledgeable Vet Techs: Staff members like Kerllos are praised for their friendly demeanor, knowledge, and genuine attempts to connect with pets, even those who might be "crabby." This initial positive interaction can significantly reduce stress for both pets and their owners.
- Kind, Confident, and Animal-Loving Veterinarians: Veterinarians, specifically Dr. Doyle, are lauded for being kind, confident, gentle, and clearly true animal lovers. Their calming presence and evident passion for animal welfare contribute significantly to a positive experience.
- Fair Pricing (as per some client experiences): At least one client expressed satisfaction with the fairness of their pricing, which is an important consideration for many pet owners in the area.
- Comprehensive Care for Multiple Pets: The ability and willingness of clients to transfer all their pets to this hospital after a positive initial experience indicates a high level of trust and satisfaction with the overall care provided.
However, it is crucial to acknowledge that while some experiences are highly positive, other reviews present significant concerns regarding customer service and administrative communication. Issues noted include:
- Rude and Unprofessional Staff (e.g., "Bonnie"): Some clients have reported extremely negative interactions with specific staff members, citing rudeness, unprofessionalism, and a lack of empathy, particularly concerning follow-up and insurance claims.
- Lack of Accountability and Poor Communication on Documentation: Instances where necessary documentation for pet insurance claims was incomplete or mishandled, leading to denials and frustration, coupled with staff allegedly misrepresenting policies or being unhelpful.
- Questionable Care Concerns: One review implies a vet might have done "the bare minimum" and questioned their genuine care for animals, particularly in a case involving a follow-up for a specific health issue.
These mixed reviews suggest that while the direct veterinary care from certain doctors and techs can be excellent, there may be inconsistencies in administrative and client service aspects that prospective clients should be aware of.

Hoboken Animal Hospital Pa: Martin Emmanuelle DVM Reviews
We just moved to Hoboken with our 13 year old chihuahua named Cookie and our 2 cats. Our doggie was not feeling well and our old vet in Bergen county was too booked to see her, which was frustrating since she was in pain. I called Hoboken Animal Hospital and they were able to see her the very next day. We were greeted by a very friendly vet tech named Kerllos who was very knowledgeable and tried his best to make friends with Cookie. Unfortunately, she can be a crabby old girl and wanted no part of him, but it was comforting to see Kerllos try his best to connect with her. We then saw Dr. Doyle and he was everything I could want in a vet. He was kind, confident and it’s obvious that he is a true animal lover. He was gentle with her and spoke in a calming voice. I felt that their pricing was fair and our over all experience was awesome. So happy to have found them and we will be transferring all of our pets over to them.
Oct 30, 2021 · Amy HaberBonnie is extremely rude. From the moment I spoke to her in person to when I followed up with her over the phone.I brought my puppy to get neutered the vet suggested on checking for alopecia. The results were negative.Fast forward I need documentation from Hoboken vet to assist with appealing a claim for my pet insurance. They sent the health insurance company an email - however left out the alopecia and so my claim was denied.I followed up asking for context around alopecia to submit again to health insurance. I spoke with Katrina who was helpful and showed genuine care. However, Bonnie decided to step back in. Bonnie said essentially it was my problem not theirs and threatened to escalate to her superior or parent company. She also threatened me by saying the conversation was recorded. Her tone was rude. She was unprofessional. Please spare yourself fromThis group. The vet didn’t want to help and the staff didn’t care. Bonnie also lied about policy. Accused me of badgering. They want to do the white minimum and I question if they care about animalsGo to vetirinaire instead of you are close enough
Sep 17, 2021 · Rahim BabarBeyond grateful for the wonderful doctors and staff at this Animal Hospital. When our dogs stitches unexpectedly opened, they took her in immediately and treated her with incredible love and care. The doctors patiently answered my numerous questions and even helped us rectify the procedure-gone-wrong by another veterinarian. We are so grateful to have found an incredible Vet in the neighborhood. Thank you Hoboken Animal Hospital for your love and care!
Apr 10, 2019 · Addie AnconaI made the mistake of reading bad reviews and giving this place a chance anyway.I am very disappointed with the care my dog received here. My dog had been having gastrointestinal issues for over 3.5 months that started when he was prescribed antibiotics and an antiparisitic for giardia. He had already been to two other vets regarding this issue. Dr. Hummel recommended that we run a blood test and a fecal PCR test to cover all our bases. She told me they would provide me with a quote before proceeding. The first problem was I was never provided a quote and instead the tests were run on my dog without me ever seeing or being told the cost. The tests ending up being close to $800. They even charge separately for "medical waste disposal." This confused me because you would think that would all be included in the $300 diagnostic test. I spare no expense when caring for my dog so I didn't say anything about this at the time. The second problem was I had to call at least 3 different times for the test results before they were finally provided to me. I made sure to ask ahead of time when the results would be available. I was told a specific day and still I had to call 3 separate times before I received all of his results. (I eventually received my dogs records and saw the test results were available days before they were ever shared with me).The third problem was when I finally was able to get the results Dr. Hummel did not have any answers to my questions. She told me my dog had parvo despite him having no symptoms of parvo other than soft stool. A quick Google search will reveal that fecal PCR tests are so accurate that they will pick up the smallest trace of parvo, such as a trace that may exist from a dog being vaccinated for parvo which my dog was. We later got a second opinion and it was confirmed he did not in fact have parvo. This did not come as a surprise to us since parvo is a virus that doesn't generally stick around for 3.5 months. The fourth problem was Dr. Hummel just prescribed another round of long-term antibiotics. After the severe adverse reaction my dog had to antibiotics in the past I had no interest in putting him through that again. Especially because Dr. Hummel could not answer my questions about his test results. Again, we got a second opinion and were able to find an alternative treatment method that is working wonders for my dog.The fifth problem was while I wasn't receiving a quote for any of these tests the vet tech did ask me if he could post photos of my dog on Instagram he had taken in the back exam room. I found it incredibly strange that someone who is supposed to be caring for my dog would instead be taking photos for the business Instagram account. I much would've preferred that they ask in the first place if they could even photograph my dog.Needless to say, we have switched the vet we go to. After one visit we are certain we made the right choice. My dog's 3.5 months of illness was due to a simple allergy. The $800 in diagnostic tests were completely unnecessary.
