★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The Loomis equine team took excellent care of my horse. Bailey helped coordinate our registration, drop off and pick up, she was friendly and professional. Our triage team evaluated and diagnosed the problem quickly and efficiently. We boarded overnight and Dr. Knott preformed an excision and closed the site beautifully. The facility is beautiful, clean, and I received excellent care.
July 13 · Sunny PeckhamSo grateful for Dr. Mika and LBEMC!! Dr. Mika is amazing! She is always on time if not early, incredibly thorough and takes the time to fully explain everything, and I know I can trust her opinion 100%. For just routine visits and emergencies too, I know that my horses are in the best care with LBEMC! 🦄
February 06 · Emily ElisabethWe had a very bad experience at this facility. We had a very sick baby goat. We had been treated at a wonderful vet in Auburn, but as his symptoms progressed we needed to go to a larger facility so that Eddie could get fluids and more advanced care. The receptionist was very nice..but after that it was not good.Although the vet seemed to know what she was doing, she had no compassion, did not explain anything to us and treated us like we were a bother that needed to go home. This was our pet and we really loved him and were very concerned about him. He died late that night. We just found out that he was euthanized..(saw it on a bill I just received)...we were not aware of this, did not get asked if we wanted to do this and did not get asked if we wanted to be there to say good bye.We got a call that night that said he died and I asked if we could pick him up later as we had to prepare a burial casket and site. The next day we got a call from our vet saying that she had to send his body off for rabies testing because he showed neurological signs. I assured her that there was no possible way that he had rabies and he had been confined in a extremely safe enclosure with no exposure to outside animals. Also, he had no bites and no real reason to suspect rabies. Also, the previous vet had diagnosed him with Listeriosis, which is a neurological disease that presents symptoms similar to rabies. We really wanted our pet back so that we could bury him and say goodbye to him. She said that there was NO way around it, but she would check on Monday and get back to me.Meanwhile on Monday morning, I called the state rabies board and the Placer County Health Department and both agencies assured me that the vet was not required to send Eddie in for rabies testing. The Placer Health Department tried to contact the doctor to tell her that, but she did not return her call.Instead, I got a call on Monday at noon from the receptionsist informing me that they had already sent Eddie to UC Davis and if I wanted to cremate him, I could call and number for payment. We did not want to cremate because it goes against our philosophies..but had no choice at this point...because we wanted some part of our baby pet back. The doctor never called me back.I also asked the receptionist how this was being paid for and she said she would call me back...she never did.Since, our goat was being destroyed anyways, I wanted to get a necropsy, to try to save our second goat but we no longer had control over his body..I called UC Davis and they said the vet had to order this...The receptionist said once again someone would call me back...and no one did. When I called UC Davis on Wed to get results, they said there was no necropsy done and they did not get the body until Tuesday...which is different information than what was given to me on Monday by Loomis Basin. We did get the ashes back eventually and the rabies results back..and just as I suspected, Eddie did not have rabies. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and the miscommunication and the lack of caring about our rights to our goat and our wishes. I will never go back to Loomis Basin and I hope goat owners and not go here either.Also...we just got the bill...they euthanized him and charged us for this, yet did not ask us if we wanted to do this or tell us they even did it. They charged us for the necropsy that was not done and charged us for the rabies test that they said they were going to pay for.I can not be more disappoionted and saddened by this facility and will NEVER go anywhere near there again.
January 05 · Katherine GenglerStaff did not properly sanitize for my horses catheter and did not keep it clean causing a septic blood clot after she recovered from an impaction, which they then charged an additional $4,500 to save the horse from THEIR deadly mistake. Then instantly started charging $100/month interest. This week I was helping haul a horse and Loomis Basin lied to the recipient and told her that the coggins would be back by Friday afternoon. It's Saturday afternoon and still no coggins, jeopardizing the transport of this horse. So whether you need something simple or something complicated, AVOID LOOMIS LIKE THE PLAGUE. The greed and ineptitude is astounding.
September 08 · Elizabeth BakerRude office staff especially Debbie and some vets were ok but MANY INCOMPETENT AND INEXPERIENCED WILL CHARGE YOU THOUSANDS FOR NOTHING. WASTE UR MONEY AND JEOPARDIZE UR PETS. FIELDING IS ARROGANT AND USES STUDENTS AND VERY RECENT GRADUATES ON COMPLICATED CASES TO BASICALLY EXPERIMENT ON UR HORSE. HE BANNED ME FOR QUESTIONING THE VERY RUDE, CARELESS AND USELESS TREATMENT ON ONE OF MY BELOVED HORSES. I HAD TO FIND MY OWN SOLUTIONS. I HAD TO TELL HIS TECH WHAT TO DO AND SHE COULDNT EVEN HOLD MY HORSE.
