Whether you're new to the Auburn area or a long-time resident, understanding the unique benefits offered by a mobile veterinary service, like the one provided by Dr. Goldfarb, is essential. It represents a modern approach to pet care that brings professional medical attention directly to your doorstep, minimizing stress for both pets and owners.
---The **Mobile Veterinary Clinic**, led by Dr. Iris Goldfarb, is based out of 5636 S Street Rd, Auburn, NY 13021, USA. While this is their physical address, the very nature of a "mobile" veterinary clinic means that accessibility extends far beyond this singular location. For pet owners in **Auburn** and the wider **Central New York (CNY)** region, the primary benefit is convenience. Instead of you traveling to a clinic, the clinic comes to you. This significantly enhances accessibility, especially for:
Pets with Travel Anxiety: Many animals experience stress during car rides or when visiting a traditional clinic environment. A mobile service reduces this anxiety by allowing the pet to be examined in the familiar comfort of their own home.
Owners with Mobility Issues: For individuals who find it difficult to transport their pets due to physical limitations or lack of transportation, a mobile vet is an invaluable service.
Multiple Pet Households: Scheduling and transporting several pets to an appointment can be a logistical challenge. A mobile clinic simplifies this process by treating all pets at home.
Busy Schedules: The convenience of a house call can save valuable time for New Yorkers with demanding work or family commitments, eliminating travel time and waiting room delays.
While appointments are necessary, the fundamental accessibility of a mobile clinic vastly improves the ease with which pets in Central New York can receive essential veterinary care. Pet owners should inquire about the specific service areas covered by the Mobile Veterinary Clinic to confirm they fall within Dr. Goldfarb's operational radius.
---As a mobile veterinary clinic, Dr. Iris Goldfarb's practice is equipped to provide a range of essential veterinary services directly in your home. While the scope of services for a mobile unit might differ slightly from a large, stationary hospital with specialized equipment, it typically includes:
Wellness and Preventative Care: This is a cornerstone of responsible pet ownership. Services include thorough physical examinations to assess overall health, age-appropriate vaccinations to protect against common diseases, and comprehensive parasite prevention programs (fleas, ticks, heartworm, intestinal parasites). Nutritional counseling and weight management advice are also often provided to promote long-term health.
Diagnostic Services: While complex diagnostics might require referral to a stationary clinic, mobile vets can often perform basic diagnostic tests on-site. This typically includes collecting samples for blood work (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal exams, which can then be sent to an external laboratory for analysis. Some mobile units may also carry portable diagnostic equipment for quick assessments.
Management of Common Illnesses: For non-emergency conditions, the mobile clinic can diagnose and treat a variety of common pet ailments. This includes addressing skin conditions, ear infections, minor gastrointestinal upsets, respiratory issues, and other general medical concerns. They can prescribe necessary medications and provide follow-up care instructions.
Minor Procedures: Depending on the specific equipment carried, some minor procedures that do not require general anesthesia or sterile surgical environments might be performed. This could include wound care, suture removal, or certain types of injections.
Pain Management: Assessing and managing pain, whether from an acute injury, chronic condition like arthritis, or post-operative recovery, is a crucial service. The clinic can prescribe pain relief medications and discuss long-term pain management strategies.
Behavioral Consultations: Many behavioral issues in pets can be rooted in medical conditions or benefit from environmental changes. A mobile vet can offer initial consultations and guidance on common behavioral concerns, potentially referring to a specialist if needed.
Senior Pet Care: As pets age, their needs change. Mobile vets can provide specialized care for senior pets, including managing chronic conditions, mobility issues, and enhancing their quality of life in their familiar home environment.
End-of-Life Care and Euthanasia: One of the most compassionate services a mobile vet can provide is in-home euthanasia. This allows pets to pass peacefully in a comfortable and familiar setting, surrounded by their loved ones, which can be immensely comforting for both the pet and the grieving family.

Jun 24, 2025 · Miss GardnerIris Goldfarb is an amazing veterinarian. Prices are very fair. She will take the best care of your animals. I have been going to her for 40 years. She has always been there for my pets. Love her
Aug 22, 2024 · Lori CareyMoments after my 1 star review posted, it was removed (possibly bc I posted with my maiden name?)I called to schedule an appt for my cat as a new patient. Previously I had an appt scheduled for my elderly dog for December 30th. My dog passed away on December 26th. I called (likely through tears) following his passing to cancel his appt and had left a voicemail to cancel the appt.I was told that they would not schedule my cat bc I was a “do not reschedule” for being a “no show” for my deceased pet. Additionally, the reason for the scheduled visit was documented incorrectly… to check his eye versus the reason I made the appt which was his coughing.Following me posting the review, the woman I spoke with called me back to clarify and justify their decision. I had been advised I could wait two weeks to connect with the owner to review my case. Due to the combination of inaccurate medical documentation, poor record keeping and complete lack of compassion, I will not be pursing this. The only reason we were seeking a new vet at the late stage in my dogs life to begin with was that our vet retired and the practice closed. We will be looking to establish with a new vet that shares the values he had, which included compassionate care for pets and their families.I am also cautious about their ability to delete negative reviews to inflate their rating .
Mar 08, 2025 · Victoria ProvoMs. Goldfarb was very gentle knowledgeable and understanding. My dog is very skittish around strangers and This vet was so good with my dog. I feel blessed that I found her.
Feb 25, 2025 · PamelaThere is no veterinarian like Iris Goldfarb in this world. I have lived out west and down south, but there was never a caring animal physician like her to help me keep my furry loved ones healthy. Her heart is bigger than any GROUP of vets you can stack up. Our 14 year old, incredibly courageous Akita needed assistance going to the afterlife tonight. Iris, my family and I speak for ourselves and our deceased dog Gossi that took her last breath tonight in your care… Mike, Courtney & Nick LoPiccolo LOVE YOU AND WE THANK YOU!
