I adopted a 13 week old puppy back in April- and before doing so made an appointment for her at Shiloh because I’d heard some good things! Unfortunately, within the first couple days of having Winnie, she began wheezing. I was able to find multiple YouTube videos of dogs the same breed (King Charles) making the same noise… whose owners stated in the captions their dog had been diagnosed with kennel cough. Prior to my first vet appointment at Shiloh I called and let them know I suspected my puppy to have kennel cough. I appreciated their procedure of having me enter a separate door than other patrons as to not spread any additional germs. I saw Dr. Zimmerman this first visit, and have no other words to say than neglectful. She was incredibly dismissive of my concerns and sent Winnie and I home with a diagnoses of “allergies” after a less than 2 minute visit. This visit cost me over $100 for my puppy to go home with the same wheezing and zero treatment. The next day Winnie was experiencing intensified wheezing and lethargy. I took a video and shared it with a family friend who is a vet elsewhere, and she immediately was able to identify that Winnie needed to be seen by a vet ASAP. At the time, Winnie was 3 pounds and this noise was identified as incredibly concerning by my family friend. I was informed that kennel cough in a dog as small as mine can quickly develop into pneumonia. I immediately called Shiloh, who told me I could bring her in. Upon arrival to Shiloh, I saw Dr. Diniz, who I have to admit was much more personable than Zimmerman, however continued to dismiss my concerns and stated allergies are common. I was given a prescription for Winnie after pleading that I knew she had kennel cough. I paid $240 for this urgent visit despite expressing my concerns to Shiloh the day prior. Overall, I was heavily disappointed in my experience with Shiloh Animal Hospital. I feel the treatment (or lack there of) was neglectful and I would’ve loved to have seen this as an opportunity for Shiloh to educate me on the wellbeing of my puppy as a first time owner. Thankfully I have found a new vet that Winnie and I adore- we will not be returning to or positively advertising for Shiloh. I do not recommend Shiloh Animal Hospital to any pet owner seeking a veterinarians office that will make you feel informed and empowered as a pet owner, as Shiloh did not provide either of these ideals for me. - Natalie Clark
