Features and Highlights
VCA Blossom Hill Animal Hospital receives a mix of highly positive feedback regarding its clinical care and staff, alongside concerns regarding specific administrative policies, which is important for local pet owners to consider.
- Exceptional Compassionate Care: The most prominent highlight is the profound level of care and compassion provided by the veterinary team, particularly Dr. Kraje. One client stated, "Dr. Kraje who did her dental was extremely loving and passionate to make sure she wasn't in anymore pain." This dedication to patient comfort and well-being is highly valued.
- High-Quality Medical Expertise: Dr. Kraje's pride in his dental work and willingness to "show her off to the other vets with a smile" indicates a high level of confidence in the quality of care provided. This suggests a team that is not only competent but also proud of their work.
- Comforting Environment for Pets and Owners: Clients feel "very comfortable leaving my little kitty Figaro in their care." This comfort is crucial for pet parents, especially after previous negative experiences at other clinics. The team's ability to ease client anxieties is a significant asset.
- Friendly and Efficient Staff (Initial Interactions): For basic transactions like purchasing specialized pet food, the reception staff can be quick and efficient, as noted by the client who came for Royal Canin food.
However, a critical review highlights a specific policy that caused frustration:
- Strict Return Policy for Pet Food: The policy requiring an "account with VCA Blossom Hill" for returns of expensive pet food, regardless of where the initial VCA purchase was recommended from, caused significant frustration. The client felt that this information about the return policy should be explicitly stated at the time of purchase, especially for high-cost items and finicky pets.
- Lack of Proactive Communication on Policies: The client's experience suggests a lack of proactive communication from the front desk regarding important policies, such as the need for a specific clinic account for returns. The receptionist's statement, "they only tell people to open an account if they indicate unsureness of their purchase," was perceived as unhelpful and confusing.
- Inconsistency in "VCA in general" vs. Specific Clinic Policies: The client's assumption that "VCA in general" would cover returns across different VCA locations was proven incorrect for this specific clinic's policy, indicating a potential disconnect that can lead to customer dissatisfaction.
This mixed feedback suggests that while the medical and compassionate care from veterinarians and their assistants is exceptional, some administrative policies or communication around them could benefit from clearer, more proactive client education.

VCA Blossom Hill Animal Hospital Reviews
I came here from having a bad experience at Banfield and I LOVE theses guys! Made me feel very comfortable leaving my little kitty Figaro in their care. Especially Dr. Kraje who did her dental was extremely loving and passionate to make sure she wasn't in anymore pain. During her check-up he was so proud of his work that he showed her off to the other vets with a smile and I was beyond grateful for everything ! Thank you so much !
Apr 29, 2025 · Chantae ClarkI came in from VCA Almaden because there was no Royal Canin food for my cat due to backorder and they told me to try VCA Blossom Hill. When I arrived, I explained that I came in from VCA Almaden and to come here to get the feline Royal Canin food. The receptionist told me where to get the bag. I purchased the food and it was done quickly. There was nothing else said, no asking for an Rx or an account etc. However, my cat refused to eat the food so I called in to ask if I could return it, which they said they would accept if it was half full. I stated I never asked for a receipt, but the receptionist replied that as long as I had an account, I could return it. I was under the assumption she meant VCA in general, so I admit fault here.Turns out no, she meant an account with VCA Blossom Hill. Which meant I could not return it. Royal Canin is pricey. I said, this should be told before purchasing that an account is needed to be able to return food in the event that my cat doesn't like it. She went on to say that they don't make the assumption of what people buy "for their kiddos" and they only tell people to open an account if they indicate unsureness of their purchase.I don't even know what that means; there should always be an assumption a person may return the food because pets are finnicky. Again, I emphasize this is an expensive purchase. It should be told regardless that an account is needed for returns. At that point, it would be up to the person if they want to make an account or not and it would be their own responsibility if they decide not to open one. But I was not told this and now I have an expensive bag of food that I have no use for.I used to be a receptionist, so I understand she was doing her job and this is not her fault. But this a bad policy in general.
May 16, 2025 · christina huynhThe staff here at VCA are such kind & knowledgeable people. I adopted my kitten Sweetie in August of last year; my family has had pets all my life but Sweetie was my first time raising a pet completely on my own. I've been taking her to VCA since I first got her, & I would 100% recommend their kitten Care Club package if you can afford it. Being able to message a vet anytime & to also know that her spay and other important first year milestones would be covered under the plan has been such a lifesaver.Recently, Sweetie went in for her spay & managed to wiggle out of not just a cone but also the surgical recovery suit I got her, and chewed through her stitches the very first night. Bringing her back in the next morning was nerve-racking, but Dr. Eva, her vet, was completely understanding and was more than happy to go over our options for making sure she wouldn't reopen them a second time. I was worried about the cost of her second visit since she had to stay most of the day and this was definitely outside of her care plan, but the clinic was kind enough to discount her stay and as of today she's been resting and recovering wonderfully! My only complaint would be that, especially right now due to COVID, the staff can be a bit overworked and the location is very busy; but even then, they're always very apologetic for the wait and I've never felt unwelcome.Aside from her in person visits, the 24/7 messaging service offered by the Care Club plan has also been quick, professional, and so helpful for any questions I had about how much to feed her, what product to best use to keep her from eating our plants, and anything else that I was fretting about and sought advice on.Thank you again to Dr. Eva & everyone else at the Blossom Hill clinic for being rad. 👍
Feb 03, 2021 · Nicholas King (1floweredcrown)I've been taking my pets to this location most of my life, and they've always been great! Dr. Hare is super patient and kind to both the animals and their human companions. This particular visit I was getting my 5 years old chihuahua mix Sirius caught up on his vaccinations. To say he was anxious is the understatement of the year! When Dr. Hare was listening to his lungs and heart he freaked out and started barking at the stethoscope. Really he hadn't stopped barking since we walked into the clinic save for a few moments he stopped to catch his breath so he could start barking again with renewed vigor. I kept apologizing to her for him barking like that, but she said it wasn't a problem. He barked thru the 3 shots they had to give him. When the vet tech brought him up to the front where I was waiting said the vet wondered if we'd be interested in something to calm him down since we have to go back in 3 weeks got a booster shot. Oh my goodness I was so grateful that she asked, because I was dreading having both my pooch and I having to deal with all the stress and anxiety again in 3 weeks.
Sep 25, 2020 · Angela SandovalA couple of years ago, I brought my kitten Binks to VCA blossom hill due to problems with urination. Binks hadn't urinated all day, so I took him to the vet immediately. When we arrived, they took Binks to the back while I waited in the room. A female doctor returned and informed me that they had attempted to insert a catheter, but since Binks was so small, they had to use a paper clip!Shortly after, she came running back to tell me that Binks had stopped breathing and asked if I wanted them to perform CPR. I consented, but a few minutes later, they informed me that Binks had passed away. The following day, they called me to charge for the appointment and the disposal of Binks' body. Considering the circumstances, I refused to pay. When I picked up Binks a couple of days later, they handed me a box that had an awful smell, suggesting improper storage. The staff member are extremely rude they gave me the box did not offer any apologies or express any condolences.I was deeply dissatisfied with the lack of care and compassion shown by the staff during such a difficult time. I cannot recommend VCA blossom hill based on my experience.
