Wildwood Veterinary Hospital Reviews
One of the few vet hospital that can treat turtles. Doctor Welsh and all the stuff are very caring and professional. My turtle is now happy and healthy again!
Apr 08, 2025 · Tianyang Evan BaiWe recently brought our cat to Wildwood for the primary purpose of getting the necessary vaccines for an upcoming flight. While we were there, the vet identified and recommended treatment for other health issues. We agreed to move forward with that treatment, trusting that it wouldn’t interfere with the vaccines we had clearly communicated were our top priority due to travel plans. What followed was a cascade of miscommunication and omissions that created unnecessary stress and cost us several hundred dollars in hotel fees.Despite our clear explanation that we needed all vaccines for travel, they only administered some—and failed to inform us that not all had been given. It wasn’t until we attempted to board our cat (because we needed to vacate our home for showings during a move) that we discovered she was not up to date. Only then did we learn that the remaining vaccine was part of some internal “plan” to administer later—something they never shared with us.After insisting they fit us in that same day, they did so—but that’s when we found out that the vaccine required a booster in two weeks, landing right before our flight. Had we not pushed to get the vaccine that day, we would’ve been completely out of options. Had we not attempted to board her, we might not have realized the vaccine was missing until we were at the airport. When I asked what their actual plan was, the answers kept shifting. They claimed they thought they had more time and didn’t know we intended to board her—despite knowing we were traveling. They also said they contacted the boarding facility for pre-authorization. But when we arrived, the boarding staff had no record of such a call and told us their policy wouldn’t allow for a stay within 48 hours of a new vaccine—something Wildwood should’ve known. The bottom line: there were multiple opportunities to communicate and clarify our pet’s care plan, and they missed every single one. The fact that they didn’t flag the missing vaccine on our paperwork, failed to tell us verbally, and provided incomplete proof of vaccination is deeply concerning. It feels like they simply forgot to administer a crucial part of our visit. The clinic is clean, and the staff is friendly, but the lack of clear communication and accountability in our experience makes it hard to trust the level of care. I hope our story helps others ask more questions upfront.
May 01, 2025 · Julie LallemandWouldn't recommend. Don't trust them to vaccinate your pet. If you ask them to update their vaccinations to go on a plane. They will leave out mandatory shots. And if you trust wildwood you won't find out something is missing until it's too lateedit: I have been asked to:"In an effort to rebuild trust I ask you reevaluate your review."And I have reevaluated my review. It will be staying as is, even if you try to threaten me by referring to it as slander."When you publicly bring into question our level of care and slander our business..." - Rachael Litzinger, Wildwood Veterinary Hospital - Practice Manager.Although considering that this review is written, not spoken, I'm not sure that would work. And regardless the truth is a complete defense against this claim.
Apr 25, 2025 · Ryan SchindlerWildwood use to be a GREAT hospital and Dr. Welsh is an OUTSTANDING vet.The problem now is that she cut her hours to a part time vet and the vet she has in there, also part time, he is not very good.My daughter brought her dog in and she asked the vet to check the ears. He lifted the one ear flap and said it was ok, my daughter asked him to look INSIDE the ear, he said no because we do not want to traumatize the dog.My daughter had to bring him back because he did indeed have an ear infection.Another time, the same vet, the weight was wrong, it was recorded as one weight and later they found it was another weight.Dr Welsh is an outstanding vet so very thorough and certainly not an in and out vet.She is, however, a part time vet which makes it so difficult because when your pet is sick you would like to have him seen and not have to wait weeks for an appointment. And when you need a prescription you have to try and get one while she is there or will be there and plan ahead. It was very stressful for me because he was on 3 different meds.I know Dr Welsh was over loaded and probably looking forward to retiring. I hope she hires a good vet, one who is as good as she is. When the blood results came back I requested them to send me the raw lab results, they refused because I had to wait for Dr Welsh's interpretations. I explained I paid for the blood test and I am entitled to see those results and can read her interpretations later.I had to put my fur baby down, he would have been 16 this June 18th and I got him when he was 2 months old. He was my bud, my pal and I miss him so much it hurts. My daughter left. Ended up she had to bring the dog, it had an ear infection.Another time she brought in her dog, they got weight wrong.I came in with my kitty who is a kidney cat. Dr Welsh checked him, took blood and did a good exam on him including checking his ears.Long story short my cat was getting worse and developed more things wrong. Because I was dealing with a part time vet, I had to make sure I had enough meds because if I ran out or low she would not be there to give another prescription. She would never give me enough and I found myself always a nervous wreck. I had to give him 3 meds. I realize the protocal of administering meds. Then I would have buy them from her which sooo expensive, $50.00 for 30 pills where I got the from Chewy for half thr price.I believe she should retire completly because when your pet gets sick you do not want to wait a month before it can be seen. She should get a more competent vet and a fuul time vet.Dr Welsh is an outstanding vet and not an in and out vet, she is very thorough but she is never there when you need her.I had to my fur baby down on May 8th but he was going to be 16 in June and had a great life with me, he was bud and my pal.
May 15, 2025 · Jovanka KrainovichThey are the sweetest. Thank you Wildwood for being so kind and compassionate when we had to say good bye to our 14 year old dog. I was a wreck but they gently walked me through the process and explained each step. Everything was handled with such care. Big hugs to everyone.
