In Greensboro, the Humane Society of the Piedmont stands as a vital resource, offering not just veterinary services but also a deep commitment to animal welfare within the community. This organization is a non-profit dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation, providing assistance to pet owners in need, and reducing unnecessary euthanasia in local shelters. They foster an environment of compassion and lead the community to enhance the lives of all animals, focusing on affordable medical care, education, and advocacy. From routine wellness checks to essential surgeries, the Humane Society of the Piedmont aims to provide a safe, caring, and cost-effective solution for pet healthcare, making quality veterinary attention available to more families.
The Humane Society of the Piedmont (HSP) operates with a core mission to provide affordable medical care, education, and advocacy for animals in the Piedmont region and beyond. Their veterinary clinic is a cornerstone of this mission, specifically offering low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to the community and non-profit affiliates. Beyond surgical services, they also provide affordable wellness care, including vaccinations and dental care, making essential preventative medicine more accessible. The organization understands the financial challenges many pet owners face, which is why programs like the Furry Friends Financial Assistance Fund exist, offering support to owners with personal pets in need of veterinary care, contingent on application and financial need. They also manage the Fill The Bowl Food Assistance Program, ensuring pets do not go hungry even in tough financial times for their owners.
HSP's dedication extends beyond direct medical services. While they do not accept surrendered animals or facilitate adoptions directly, they provide extensive community resources, connecting pet owners with local rescue organizations, animal control services, and trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs for feral cats. This holistic approach to animal welfare, combining direct veterinary services with broader community support, underscores their profound passion for caring for animals and the people who love them. This commitment makes them a truly unique and invaluable asset to the North Carolina pet community.

Humane Society of the Piedmont Reviews
Really impressed. I've passed by the place so many times but never went in. We needed a less expensive place for a neuter surgery and decided to look around. Reviews and pricing looked good (less than half the price out old vet wanted) so I booked online which was such a simple process! I was able to submit all the paperwork and send proof of rabies vaccination online as well. So day of all we had to do was show up and pay. They are VERY thorough with all instructions. I appreciated having it all in e-mail form so I could check back. The lobby is big, clean and cheerful. The process went swiftly. Everyone I interacted with really seemed to care about the well being of each pet. It made us feel safe and in good hands. And Sunny is doing great!
May 02, 2025 · Tona SnodgrassOur first time bringing our rescue dog, Jessie, into the vet since we moved to NC last September. We've been putting it off for a while due to a couple reasons: mainly finances, as vets can be expensive (and Jessie hasn't been urgently sick at all, thankfully) and the most impactful reason being that Jessie is super nervous around strangers and dogs that she doesn't know. I am glad we waited and chose a vet based on recommendation, rather than picking whoever was closest to us because this vet visit was 100% worth the wait. Everyone on staff, from the receptionist, vet tech, and vet staff themselves, were SO helpful and understanding. You can tell they truly have a passion for caring for animals - especially rescue pets. They made her visit go as smoothly as possible and never once complained about her being scared or nervous. They treated her with so much kindness and empathy (even when she got the nervous poops and made a mess on herself).. lmao. Couldn't be more thankful for this staff. Also, they are VERY reasonably priced. We will definitely be back and will likely bring our cats in next for their annual check-ups. :)
Jul 02, 2025 · salemThe staff here are so welcoming, friendly, and kind. From the second I walked through the door they showed compassion about my dog and made sure she felt comfortable in a scary situation. They were able to get her in the day after we called, which was crucial for her late term pregnancy. I will definitely be going back, and glad to know there are there! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Feb 15, 2025 · Cara EakesI love the staff at the spay and neuter clinic . I rescued 12 standard poodles from a horrific situation it was a puppy mill and it’s been a lot to deal with and if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have been able to afford to get them neutered and I needed that as soon as I could possibly get them done, they have been absolutely outstanding. Their staff is the most wonderful caring Kind people and the place is clean. I know their veterinarians and vet techs are wonderful. I couldn’t ask for a better place to take any of my dogs thank you for all you have done. You’re amazing. You can’t go wrong there. You will have the best experience for your animals.
