Dewitt Veterinary Medical Center Reviews
Dr. Bumgardner, John, and Debbie were always kind to us, treated us fairly, answered all our questions, charged very generous prices, and, most important, always provided care with compassion to our dog, Seger, and our cat Kenobi. All the way up until the end of his life Segee was often scared of vets, but this clinic always was okay for him, and they treated him with kindness. There needs to be more vets like Dr. Bumgardner in this world. For the rest of my life I will always miss my beloved eternal puppy Seger but also will be happy that Dr. Bumgardner was his vet for most of his life. He was a buff American cocker spaniel and my best friend. 10/23/14 - 1/15/25. Rest easy, sweet boy. I will see you again someday.
Apr 06, 2025 · Kevin Clark TreadwayI will always, always take my pets to Veterinary Medical Center in an emergency. Whenever one of our pets has needed emergency care, the staff have been not only professional but caring and compassionate. When a pet is in extreme distress, they get them in quickly. Yes, they have to triage sometimes--just like an ER for humans--but the speed of care relates to how busy they are and how dire your pet's situation may be. That said, I have never minded the wait, which I have always felt was reasonable under the circumstances. And once my pets are being treated, they take excellent care of them and do whatever they can to make them comfortable. They also counsel pet owners with kindness regarding the options for their pets, and when we've had to make the choice to tell one of our babies goodbye, the compassion and respectfulness of the staff and doctors has brought me tears of gratitude. As far as the cost, I have always found it reasonable. After all, it costs money to run a 24 hour facility, and frankly, I am willing to pay a premium for the availability of emergency veterinary care when my regular vet is not open. We are lucky to have these folks performing an important service for us pet owners.
Feb 16, 2025 · Ryan LyonsDr. Bumgardner and his staff have been such a perfect fit for us! We have had 3 cats in the last 16 years and they have received such down to earth and compassionate care from this office! No oversell and no undersell, just compassionate down to earth diagnosis. The animal's well-being is first and foremost. We are grateful that our search took us to their office when we welcomed our first cat from the SPCA.
Dec 08, 2024 · EricaThis vet office has been the savior to my cats and care for them in the way every cat owner wants for the last four years. They have cared and listened to every need, complaint, worry, concern, etc and have addressed them in the most open and honest ways to ensure the owners know what is needed for their pets. You can tell the staff love pets. First vet I have had in a long time where pet care was about pets and not money. Thank you.
