Mattydale Animal Hospital Reviews
I took my cat Luna here about a year ago because she needed emergency surgery for pyometra after being quoted $12,000 by the emergency vet. They squeezed my baby in and saved her for me. I can’t put into words how grateful i am between staffs compassion to the pricing on how good my experience was. I was shown an estimate with a low-end and high-end range (I believe the high end was $3,500, I may be wrong) depending on my cats needs while she recovers. I didn’t end up paying anywhere near the high end of my estimate, even with Luna having to stay 2 nights for observation & recovery. The woman who owns this place did the surgery, she has a special place in my heart 😭 I cannot express my thankfulness, just.. Thank youuuuu so much 🙏🏻 I’ve had luna since she was a kitten along with one of her siblings from the same litter. I’m so glad I took her here.
Apr 08, 2025 · Mae RoseWe owe a sincere thank you to Dr. Karen Leshkivich, D.V.M. and the staff at Mattydale Animal Hospital for seeing our beagle Daisy immediately, within less than an hour determining the core health crisis and getting her into surgery and on the road to recovery. Everyone was amazing in keeping us assured everything possible would be done to help Daisy. We are deeply grateful to all who took part in saving Daisy's life. She was definitely in trouble internally and it could have led to disaster if not caught and treated so quickly. Thank you a million times for everything done to help Daisy Mae. 100 ⭐️ rating from us!
Jun 02, 2025 · The Lucky PuppMy Australian Shepherd has a huge hot spot that we just found on Monday, it must be about 6-7 inches across, and though we're vaguely familiar with hot spots (only ever had one once before in spite of 50 years of raising Australian Shepherds) so we wondered if there might be something else at work. So, we went to Mattydale Animal Hospital, on Tuesday, thankful that they would fit us in. Once there, a very young vet attended us.. (maybe still in school? She looked high school age), but there was little discussion. She took him out of the room we waited in, and brought him back with an insufficient snipping of the hair, a recommendation for meds, and a plastic collar. We had let them know that he pulls plastic collars off, (this one lasted 2 minutes) - yet they never attached it to his regular collar; When we called from the car that he'd already removed it in their parking lot - we were told how to weave the string through his regular collar.. which they might have done right away., (We never got it done right - and the collar sits like a nuveau lamp shade in the kitchen to this day)But the greatest disappointment was the incredible rudeness of the receptionist - who spent our entire visit ragging on us for failing to 'call from our car'.. a rule we didn't see until we got to their front door, so we phoned from the door when we saw the sign,.. but their phone was 'busy busy busy'.. and seeing as the receptionists could see us through the door.. we did the understandable thing and 'knocked'..For this crime of 'knocking', we were never forgiven; The gal regaled us.. not once, not twice during our short visit, but THREE TIMES'.Chewing out a customer already under stress with a sick animal was bad enough, but as we were leaving she followed us to the door to remind us for the umpteenth time that according to their rules we are forbidden to knock, but must call from the car, to which we replied.. 'It might help if you would inform incoming patients of your rules, text them, or mention them on the phone, so a new person would not have to be so persecuted'.. The receptionist replied (continuing her tirade..).. "YOU have been here before!" Yes, we were.. once...years ago..But be advised - this is the treatment you may expect,.. limited for your animal, and caustic for yourself.
Jun 01, 2025 · Decorative AcademySo I took my dog that I rescued. They found them outside when he was four weeks old and I took him to get neutered. He’s seven months old now and they told me 600 starting at 600 which is ridiculous in the first place and then I get the bill and it was $242 on top of what they had told me so a total of $842 which is ridiculous and she’s and I said well what cause the extra $242 and the girl at the desk could only say that they had to give him nausea medicine and I looked it up and it was only $27 for the nausea medicine so what I wanna know what cost $242 extra and she basically couldn’t tell me and I think this is Ridiculous this is why spay neuter their pets and unfortunately I don’t qualify for any low income spay or neutering and then I asked her if I could pay 242 in installments and she’s like no and that case I wouldn’t give you the medicine that he needs and I thought that was pretty shitty that she actually said that to me oh, in that case I wouldn’t give you the prescriptions he needs not to mention. Are they way overpriced over the estimate but they’re actually rude as hell and it’s not just one or two of them it’s basically all of them that are freaking rude and I can tell you right now. I’ve been Going there for the last 10 years or so and it’s the prices have gotten so ridiculous. You can’t afford to take your dog to The vet. Most of the time I take my dog To vetco it’s a lot cheaper, but unfortunately, they don’t spay and neuter animals or I’d be going there instead, but I definitely do have to find a new vet because that’s the last time they’re taking advantage of me and I thought it was ridiculous that you wouldn’t set up a payment arrangement with me they’ve done it in the past and I don’t know why they wouldn’t do it this time so that’s why you’re getting your one star Not only are they overpriced, but they’re also very rude on top of it so I suggest anybody that wants to go there think again unless you got a big bank account and you don’t mind paying double what everybody else charges I should’ve called around. I did call a few places, but they couldn’t get him in until late April and I wanted to get them neutered as soon as possible so I guess you have to pay for that. But trust me, I’m gonna be more diligent about finding a new vet for my dogs and people that are not nasty and rude
Mar 08, 2025 · Sharon CookI have been coming here for almost 15 years with all my dogs and cats I have had. It is not corporatized- it is owned by Dr Lezkovitch- an incredible and very experienced vet that I have immense respect for. There have been several other good vets here over the years but she is always here and takes incredible care of my animals. Her office staff is beyond beyond beyond amazing- (not a typo- they are worth 3 beyonds!) patient, kind, knowledgeable, understanding, and helpful. And- they are the same people that have been here all 15 years! To me, that says that the business takes care of their people because there isn't that turnover you see in most businesses! I don't feel like they pressure unnecessary procedures; I have never felt rushed when I ask a million questions about taking good care of my animals; and they have been there through the very difficult times that come with being a fur-parent. They also are pretty good about getting my animals in as soon as they can. They are busy - which is another sign that they are good people, but still always get my fur-kids in asap when necessary. It is not cheap, but I think that is an issue everywhere and comparatively I believe they are fairly priced. Though I do wish they'd throw in a complimentary nail trim with exams, but that's just wishing, I suppose, lol! (And they have actually done that a couple times over the years to my immense gratitude- we always just like an extra treat lol) I have nothing but amazing things to say about all the people who work at Mattydale animal hospital!
