James Landing Veterinary Hospital Reviews
I scheduled my dog for a dental cleaning and was told to drop him off at 7:30 in the morning. I was also informed he would be ready for pickup at 4:30. I got back at the vet at 4:30 and was ignored by the receptionists for ten minutes, one of which looked up at me, ignored me, then went back on her computer. Once I was finally acknowledged and told them I’m here to pick up my dog, I was told it will be a wait until he’s ready. Thirty minutes later I ask how long the wait is going to be and then found out that I was forgotten about. Once I got my dog back, I was told the vet bill was $300 after being told the previous visit that it would be $75 and $50 per tooth. I was not contacted about any teeth pulling (2 were pulled without my knowledge nor my consent). Also, I was not told of any aftercare on what to feed him after having two teeth pulled or if I need to rinse his mouth to avoid infection. I then spoke to the vet about the cost of the teeth cleaning being far more than originally told at the previous appointment with him. He said that I had gotten an estimate that morning about the cost (which I didn’t). He then went on to discuss the cost of other dogs who get their teeth pulled and how there’s were more than ours, which, shockingly, didn’t help the issue of not being informed or given an estimate of how much it will cost. Also, our dog smelled of pee. When mentioned, the vet said that dogs pee in cages and it’s the owners fault. He also said we misheard him when discussing the price of the dental cleaning. Even if that was the case, I was not given an estimate that morning. I would never recommend this vet to anyone due the lack of communication between the vet and the owners along with the blatant disrespect given out to the customers.
Jun 11, 2025 · Natalie LittleScheduled a teeth cleaning they pulled 2 of his teeth without consulting us they also total was $340 they said a teeth cleaning would be $75 . We picked him up and he reeks of pee tried to explain to the vet and he basically said that dogs pee in the bed sometimes and that it’s the owners fault… I’m assuming they didn’t let him out we also had to wait 30 mins to pick him up and he was there since 8am we got there at 4:30 pm.It’s not the price im mad about it’s the fact they didn’t consult us and he is covered in pee. Don’t go to this vet they don’t take care of your dog
Jun 10, 2025 · Ryan GirdlerBeen coming here for years I even praised them that I liked the transition and how smooth everything was going. My dog doesn't like nail trimmings, but I have never had an issue with her being cut, but today it happened after they ensured me that they had more training and that's why they were able to handle it versus a groomer at a pet store. They didn't inform me that they cut her quick until I had to bring her back because it was bleeding so much. I will now have to look somewhere else to bring her that I trust that won't hurt her.
Jun 13, 2025 · jett hindsI am extremely disappointed with my experience at (James Landing Veterinary ).My cat, Moon, was scheduled for a spay surgery today, Wednesday 2/5/2025 .When I arrived to pick her up at 4:40 PM, I was shocked to be informed that she was in her third trimester of pregnancy, and yet, they proceeded with the surgery without notifying me beforehand. This is absolutely unacceptable and, in my opinion, an act of cruelty towards animals. As a pet owner, I had the right to know about my cat’s condition before any irreversible procedure was performed.Had I been informed, I wouldn’t have consented to this surgery. Why was I not told before the operation? This lack of transparency and disregard for ethical veterinary care is deeply concerning.I would never never recommend this clinic to any responsible pet owner.
May 21, 2025 · Shatha MayoufMy dog, Tucker, has been going to James Landing for the past six years, and up until recently, we’ve never had any issues. However, our most recent experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. We boarded Tucker from Friday, June 6, 2025, to Monday evening, June 9, 2025. At pickup, there were no visible issues and no reports of injury from the staff. However, later that evening during our walk, Tucker began limping and yelping in pain. I called James Landing the following morning (Tuesday) to report my concerns, and they advised me to monitor him and call back if he didn’t improve.By Wednesday morning, he was still in pain, so I called again and was scheduled for a 3 p.m. appointment. I was told twice that the exam and any x-rays would be free of charge since this occurred under their care. At the appointment, only a basic exam was performed. I was told Tucker might be experiencing muscle spasms and that one of his toenails needed trimming despite the fact that I had paid for grooming during his boarding stay. No x-ray was done. They prescribed pain meds but expected me to pay for them. I reminded them that the visit, including any necessary treatment, was supposed to be covered. As a result, I left with no medication for my dog, who was clearly still in pain.I called again on Thursday morning (June 12) to report that Tucker was worse—still yelping and now not eating. They offered to do an x-ray, but this time said I would have to pay out of pocket. The vet I spoke with was dismissive, insensitive, and completely lacking in empathy. After this experience, I will no longer be bringing my pets to James Landing. This situation was handled with zero accountability, poor communication, and unacceptable customer service. My dog was hurt under their care, and instead of concern or support, I was met with rudeness and disregard.
