Blue Mountain Animal Clinic is an established veterinary practice that has been serving the Page County and Front Royal area since 1991. They provide a comprehensive range of veterinary services designed to support the health and well-being of dogs and cats throughout all stages of their lives. Based on available information and common practices for a clinic of their tenure, their services typically include:
Preventive and Wellness Care: This foundational service includes routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations tailored to your pet's lifestyle and risk factors, effective parasite prevention and control programs (for fleas, ticks, and internal parasites), and personalized nutritional counseling to help maintain optimal weight and overall health.
Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose a wide array of illnesses and injuries, the clinic utilizes various diagnostic tools. This commonly includes in-house laboratory services for essential blood tests (e.g., complete blood count, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal examinations. Digital radiography (X-rays) is also a standard offering for assessing skeletal health, internal organs, and identifying foreign objects.
Surgery: They perform a range of surgical procedures, from routine elective surgeries such as spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries. A strong emphasis is placed on thorough pre-surgical evaluations, safe anesthesia protocols, and effective post-operative pain management to ensure the best possible outcomes and comfortable recovery for pets.
Dental Care: Comprehensive dental health services are vital for a pet's overall well-being. These services typically encompass professional dental cleanings (scaling and polishing under anesthesia), dental X-rays to assess tooth root health, and extractions of diseased teeth. They also provide guidance on at-home dental care to prevent periodontal disease.
Ophthalmology: The clinic offers services related to eye health, which may include diagnosing and treating common eye conditions in pets.
Nutrition Counseling: Expert advice on pet nutrition helps owners make informed decisions about their pet's diet, addressing specific dietary needs based on age, breed, and any existing health conditions.
Cat and Dog Veterinary Care: While they cater to both cats and dogs, specific services might be tailored to the unique needs of each species, ensuring comprehensive care for both feline and canine patients.

Blue Mountain Animal Clinic Reviews
If you have a diabetic cat or dog, I highly recommend Dr. Kristina Pauley at Blue Mountain Animal Clinic in Luray, VA. This is my 17-year old diabetic cat, Shye. When I first brought him to see Dr. Pauley, his glucose numbers were way out of range and he was literally pulling his hair out. Dr. Pauley made wise decisions based on his age and health issues, and within 3 months he was much better. He continues to thrive (as best as he can!) two years later under her care. Thank you! We love you Dr. Pauley!

Feb 11, 2025 · Britt ShanholtzReally friendly staff! The Dr spent a good deal of time with us, learning about my older dog, my concerns, her needs. As a new patient without an emergency, it took us a while to get an appointment, but really happy with the service.PS They are super hiker/hiker-dog friendly! 😊
Jan 14, 2025 · Sarah HOn vacation, my one year old German Shepherd started limping. I researched vets in the area and decided to go here. I am so glad I did because this place was phenomenal. The whole place was great from start to finish- they brought her in a side door so she didn’t see other dogs, let me bring her to the car before I went back in and paid. They were great with her (even though she can be aggressive) and she didn’t even need a muzzle. Dr Clark was amazing. He explained everything to me and diagnosed her perfectly. He prescribed meds for her (which worked immediately), and even called the next day to check up on her. Also, the billing was extremely reasonable, I was expecting to pay double than what I did. I am just super impressed with this clinic! I wish I lived closer to this vet because it would definitely be my go to veterinary clinic! Overall an excellent experience for both my puppy and me. Highly recommend to anyone needing a vet in the area!!!
