★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1While on our vacation my Biewer Terrier got into something, possibly some senior dog food. We were out of the country, and my daughter had just left to go out of town. My dog had eaten some of her senior dogs food but he was fine when she left. The sitter text her my dog was having diarrhea, and vomiting dark red mucus, blood! Not even 2 hours later he was at the vet at 8:AM. I talked to the vet and thought he was in good hands. Just before midnight I get a call from the vet. I asked how he was. She said “not good, he’s crashing, do you want us to start CPR?” I said yes, she said she had to go and called back and said they got a heart beat. A complete nightmare! My dog was in the critical care unit. My dog was on a feeding tube, dehydrated due to the diarrhea and vomiting. He was on a catheter and had 6-7 IV lines for fluid and medication. When I picked him up they said he would be very tired the first few days. The NG tube was gone. And he still had some diarrhea. The first day he ate well and the next 4 days I hand fed him. By day 3 he wanted to play ball, his favorite past time. Day 5 he started eating on his own. By day 7 I walked him on a leash for the first time since being discharged. My little guy is doing so well. He’s playing, eating, and energetic. His stools are looking much better. No diarreah, but the size was very thin. Now plumping up. Now mixing a small amount of his regular kibble into his I/D to transition him back. He even got his first grooming yesterday. They had to cut and shave his hair in order to do what they needed to do. They saved my babies life, forever grateful!❤️
June 29 · Susan WebsterI came home to my elderly cat doing very poorly, already with a terminal diagnosis.Unfortunately I had to take him to a new vet- Dogwood, because my normal vet was closed and my former emergency vet has moved.Everyone was extremely kind and understanding. I did not opt for invasive procedures for Bear as we kind of already knew what was going on- and no expensive procedures were pushed on me.The doctor that did the euthanasia for us was kind, and patient. I’m grateful that Bear was able to go out peacefully.
March 25 · Caitlin Champion CoffeeMy silly Goose (cat variety, not foul) ate a hula skirt string that he vomited. The entire time, all staff up front was very kind, even when I felt like I was calling too much, they’re very understanding and really enjoy caring for animals. Every call was answered, and I believe we spoke on the phone with either a tech or doctor twice a day while my cat was in their care, plus daily visits. They kept me calm, explained everything and gave options. It’s emergency medicine so it’s going to be expensive anywhere you go, but the team at Dogwood is very upfront, no BS. I appreciate the entire team, special thank you to the technician with fun colored hair, the girl up front with glasses, and Dr Galton. You were all so good at putting my mind at ease with every step of the way, even when it was scary. Thank you so much for taking care of my little man!
May 30 · Ren BrandauA MILLION GOLD STARS FROM ME!!! We brought our 5 1/2 year old Golden retriever in at 1 am for vomiting and a slightly bloated belly. After an ultrasound, they discovered he had GVD (look it up) and needed surgery immediately or he would be dead within hours. They called the surgeon in and performed the surgery promptly and flawlessly. My family is forever indebted to this team!! I have no words to express my gratitude! I understand that one day my buddy will cross the rainbow bridge, but thanks to Dr Peter Czajkowski and his wonderful team, that time was not early Tuesday morning! Thank you for all you do!
August 02 · Carlie RobersonI was out of town with my girl when she suddenly needed an emergency ultrasound and surgery. Not knowing the area, I called over a dozen clinics — Leah at Dogwood was by far the most compassionate and proactive person I spoke to. She coordinated with the urgent care doctor and told me to bring her in immediately. From the moment we arrived, the staff was prompt, straightforward, and kind. She stayed for a couple of nights, and even through some of the most stressful days of my life, I knew she was in good hands. Since her discharge, the front desk has continued to answer my questions without hesitation. We’re still waiting on her biopsy results, but I’m grateful knowing I brought her somewhere that truly cared and gave her the best chance possible. Thank you to her care team for taking such good care of my girl.
