Columbine Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in Littleton and the surrounding Colorado communities, Columbine Animal Hospital has long been a familiar and trusted name in animal care. The clinic has a history of being a go-to destination for comprehensive veterinary services, known for its ability to provide a wide range of medical and surgical care for both cats and dogs. The team is equipped to handle everything from routine annual check-ups to advanced diagnostics and complex surgeries, ensuring that pets receive a high standard of medical attention throughout their lives. The hospital has traditionally been a place where pets and their owners felt comfortable and well-cared for, which is a crucial factor in building a lasting relationship with a veterinary provider.
However, it's important for local residents to be aware of significant changes that have recently occurred at the facility. As noted in recent customer reviews, the clinic has undergone a change in management, which has led to a complete staff turnover. This has unfortunately impacted the well-established "community" feeling that once defined the practice. For years, the clinic was praised for having a staff that was genuinely empathetic, patient, and knowledgeable, particularly with anxious or high-energy pets. The previous team was known for their ability to build trust and make vet visits a positive experience, often using "fear-free" methods and positive reinforcement.
While the change has been disappointing for many long-time clients, it's a new chapter for the hospital. The new staff and management are committed to continuing to serve the Littleton community. For new pet owners or those looking for a new veterinary home, the clinic still offers a robust list of services and has the potential to rebuild its reputation with new clients. Understanding this transition is key for anyone considering bringing their pet to Columbine Animal Hospital.
Columbine Animal Hospital is located at 5546 W Canyon Trail, Littleton, CO 80128, USA. This location makes it easily accessible for residents of Littleton and the surrounding areas, including Highlands Ranch and Ken Caryl.
The facility is designed with accessibility in mind, providing a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, a wheelchair-accessible restroom, and wheelchair-accessible seating. The clinic also has a gender-neutral restroom and is identified as an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safe space, showing a commitment to inclusivity for all community members. For the convenience of clients, there is also a free on-site parking lot. The clinic recommends or requires appointments, which helps to ensure that each pet receives thorough attention and that wait times are managed efficiently.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Update 3/19/25: Management change has driven me to leave this practice. I used to recommend this office to everyone now I am taking all of my animals to a different facility because of the vast change in personnel. This used to be such an amazing practice that I felt so comfortable with that was fully staffed with people who genuinely loved animals and loved helping owners navigate difficult times. it started when Dr. Cam left and as soon as I heard that Kristy from the front desk left, I immediately changed practices. The community that was made within that office has been gutted. The new staff knows absolutely nothing and they act as if they do not have empathy, compassion, patient nor understanding of animal behaviors. Do not go to this office.Previous Review: Highly recommend! I have so many animals and the veterinarians here are so friendly! The techs and front office staff are so helpful even when I ask 10,000 questions and send 50 photos! They are all so attentive and knowledgeable. One of my dogs is very high anxiety and this is the only place she absolutely loves going!
March 19 · Kayla RI have been bringing my anxious, reactive dachshund, Pickle, to Columbine Animal Hospital for a year, and the previous staff truly made the clinic what it was. Dr. Cam and his team knew how to handle him with patience, confidence, and kindness—never needing a muzzle, always using treats, and making the experience as stress-free as possible. Unfortunately, since the management change and complete staff turnover, the atmosphere has shifted dramatically. This visit was disappointing. There was no effort to build trust—no treats, no warming up, and no understanding of Pickle’s needs. The vet tech seemed unprepared, unaware of our reason for the visit even after I had handed over the paperwork. She didn’t seem to have reviewed his chart and was confused when I mentioned ordering his medication from an online pharmacy. When I inquired about the price of a test, I was handed a muzzle instead of a price quote. That alone gave me pause. The vet, though polite, seemed hesitant and fearful—even with the muzzle on—which is not the energy you want around an anxious dog. While the staff were nice enough, the overall vibe was that they simply aren’t animal people, and that makes all the difference. We originally chose Columbine Animal Hospital because of the people, and Pickle trusted them completely. Sadly, that trust was lost during this visit. It’s heartbreaking to see such a drastic change, and I hope management realizes what made this clinic special before it’s too late.
March 20 · Brittney JayeDr. Perrow and the staff were amazing! I came in on Friday because my normal veterinarian couldn’t take my emergency with my Frenchie. He hurt his neck and he was in extreme pain and I was freaking out. Not only did she diagnosed his issue but made me feel so much better. She prescribed the right medication and he’s doing so much better. I will definitely be taking him, and my other two fur babies to this veterinary. Her staff is very friendly too. What a blessing they were ♥️
April 17 · Kathy WhalingDr. Jessica Seaton @ Columbine Animal Hospital (CAH) is very kind, yet maintains a professional attitude, & is very thorough in her review of our overweight, soon to be 10 yr old female tabby cat. We are aware of our cat's recent weight gain & now that we know how many calories per day she should be eating, we will make every effort to control her diet accordingly. I asked Dr. Seaton if she could do an annual blood draw so we can compare it to her previous year's results, to hopefully better understand our beautiful cat's overall health, she complied with my request.I miss the vets & office folks from the previous owners of CAH. However, I am looking forward to working with the folks involved in the new takeover of CAH! Thank you very much.
March 29 · Susan FitchI should have written a review sooner. This Vet clinic literally saved my Boston Terriers life. Back in 2021 - COVID, my dog got bitten by either a bee or a deadly spider because she instantly went into anaphylactic shock. Her mouth was white, she was throwing up and then passed out. I was panicked and looked for the closest vet to me which was Columbine Animal Hospital. I called them screaming that I was on my way and I needed help. Three or four doctors and nurses met me at the curb and rushed Betty inside. I had to wait outside due to Covid restrictions and a nurse was out comforting me and helped clean my car from the throw up. They brought Betty back to life with a shot and hydration enough so I could drive to my primary vet which was much further. Betty was totally recovered after coming back outside. I will never ever forget this place. They saved my dog. Thank you.
