For residents within Lakeland and surrounding areas, its position on a main thoroughfare typically suggests a degree of accessibility. East Memorial Boulevard is a well-known route, which could imply ease of navigation for those driving to the location.
However, it's worth noting that while the address itself indicates a presence on a major road, the nature of the immediate surroundings and the specific setup of the storefront can influence a visitor's experience of accessibility. Parking availability, for instance, is a practical consideration for any local business, and its ease or difficulty can impact a customer's decision to visit. For those relying on personal vehicles, direct access to the premises and sufficient parking spaces are key factors in overall convenience.
For Floridians living in Lakeland, the location might be relatively convenient if it falls within their regular travel routes for errands or commuting. However, the customer reviews provided do not offer explicit details regarding parking or the general ease of access to the building itself beyond the street address. It is advisable for potential visitors to consider these practical aspects when planning a trip to the store.
The accessibility of a pet store also extends beyond just physical location to the environment within the store itself. While the address makes it geographically reachable, customers' experiences within the premises, as noted in reviews, also contribute to the overall perception of how "accessible" and comfortable a store is for them and their pets. Given that the provided reviews focus more on internal conditions, prospective visitors might wish to consider these aspects in addition to the geographical location.

For residents of Florida, especially those in Lakeland, deciding on a pet store involves careful consideration of various factors, including animal welfare, product quality, and customer experience. Based on the provided public reviews, Junior Pet Shop at 1322 E Memorial Blvd presents a nuanced picture that local Floridians should be aware of when considering this establishment.
While the store does offer live birds and poultry, including chickens and cockatiels, which might cater to a specific local demand for these types of animals, the suitability of Junior Pet Shop for locals is significantly impacted by the concerns raised in customer feedback. Reviews highlight serious issues regarding animal health, such as chickens reportedly suffering from bumblefoot and severe respiratory infections shortly after purchase, with claims of these conditions being visibly present at the time of sale. For Florida residents who prioritize the health and ethical treatment of animals, these accounts suggest a need for thorough due diligence before making a purchase.
Furthermore, customer observations about the animal housing conditions, describing birds "crammed into a small, unventilated closet inside of wire cages" and new animals being "stacked literally 3 on top of each other in a dog crate," raise considerable animal welfare concerns. These conditions are in stark contrast to the standards many responsible pet owners in Florida would expect and seek out. The reported presence of a strong, lingering cleaning solution smell and an individual smoking in close proximity to birds outside the store further detract from what would typically be considered a healthy or comfortable environment for both animals and customers.
The disputed communication regarding customer inspections of animals also points to a potential lack of transparency or a rushed sales process that may not allow for adequate examination of animals before purchase. For locals, trust and clear communication are fundamental in such transactions.
In conclusion, while Junior Pet Shop is physically located in Lakeland, Florida, and offers certain types of live animals, the significant concerns raised by multiple customer reviews regarding animal health, housing conditions, and overall store environment warrant careful consideration by any local resident. Floridians seeking a pet store are encouraged to evaluate these points alongside their own values regarding animal welfare to determine if Junior Pet Shop aligns with their expectations for a responsible and reliable source for their pet needs.

Junior Pet Shop Reviews
The owner was mopping the floor with a strong smelling solution. It smelled like bleach. The smell clung onto my clothes and hair. And not only that but someone was literally smoking a cigarette just outside the door in close proximity to the birds! Super, super dangerous for them. One cockatiel's feathers were plucked out and he looked sick, too. I won't be returning.
Jun 19, 2025 · Monica DysonI purchased 17 chickens from this pet shop, and 14 of them are suffering from bumblefoot, while several others are showing signs of serious infections. The shop keeps birds (chickens, quail, finches, and more) crammed into a small, unventilated closet inside of wire cages. I also witnessed new chickens being brought in, stacked literally 3 on top of each other in a dog crate, and seriously manhandled. I have never seen anything like this in my time purchasing and tending chickens. In response to your reply to my original review, please stop lying. The video attached to my review clearly shows that the hens are visibly sick with severe respiratory infections. Infections like this do not develop overnight. Regarding your claim that I inspected each hen before taking them, how was that even possible when you were throwing them into boxes so quickly that I had no chance to examine them?
