Avenue Animal Wellness + Emergency Reviews
My little baby cat Sopaipilla unexpectedly went into heart failure yesterday, and while her passing has been one of the most difficult things I've ever been through, the staff here made this experience as easy as possible. They did everything they could for my sweet girl, and they gave me and my partner as much time as we needed with her after she was gone. They even went the extra mile and closed her eyes and mouth, which I wasn't even expecting them to do for us, and they made the process of getting her to a crematorium so incredibly simple. I'm so grateful I chose them to take care of her in her final moments, and I'll never forget the sensitivity and grace they had for us during this difficult time.
May 14, 2025 · Ryan CollinsI’m not one to typically write reviews, but I feel like this one truly calls for it. I’ve seen a few negative reviews and I don’t want to take away from people’s experiences, but I wanted to offer my positive one. My boyfriend and I spent a year coaxing and taking care of an EXTREMELY skittish stray cat outside our house. She was so so sweet and loved spending time with our indoor cat through our bar/screen door. I saw her ear was clipped and assumed it was a girl so i started calling her Sweet Girl and it just stuck! She would play with my cat through the door and was ecstatic when we got her a heated warming house back in the winter and put it under our front exterior window… they loved seeing and pawing at each other through it! After almost a year of coaxing, she finally let us pet her and two weeks later she came inside! Very quickly, she wasn’t eating as much as usual, so I went online and read that it could be from the stress of a new environment. After leaving the house for not even 20mins, we unfortunately came home to her hiding, and covered in her own sickness and excrements, and was wobbly. Because my childhood dog had a stroke, I immediately assumed this was what was going on, so we rushed her to the vet. The staff took us immediately and took such great care of her and soon informed us that Sweet Girl was actually a Sweet Boy! However, he ended up being FIV+ (feline version of HIV), and was at the end of his road. He had virtually no white blood cells left, his organs were failing, and a plethora of other things that I cannot recall because I think my brain is trying to block out that horrible night. His poor little heart failed and the staff brought him back twice, but the third time, it was unresponsive. The staff here were so beyond kind and patient with us throughout everything. I was without my debit card (i was waiting on my replacement that hadn’t come in the mail yet), so they were so kind waiting for me to transfer funds around to pay for my baby’s treatment and after life care. They also comped some of it since she ended up passing. The vet was so kind in reassuring us that Sweet Girl probably decided to come in the house, because he knew he was at the end of his rope, and even if we trapped and took her in a month ago, he probably wouldn’t have made it. Because Sweet Girl was FIV+, they wanted to run a SNAP test my other cat, Ozzy, to make sure he was in the clear, so they worked us in the next morning. He was luckily in the clear! I have only ever lost one pet, and she passed when I was really young, so i don’t remember much, but this one has affected me most deeply. Coming home with an empty carrier and fresh paw prints on her bed and blanket was gut wrenching. I am so thankful for all of the kind people who work at Avenue Animal Wellness for being so kind and gentle to Sweet Girl as she made her journey to the great cat tree in the sky! Y’all are truly angels on earth, and I am so grateful for each and every one of you🤍
Jun 13, 2025 · carolyn wMy sister and I took her cat here last night with the concern that his urinary track was blocked with crystals, after a blockage that required a 4 day stay 2 years ago. Luckily, he was not blocked and it is looking like a UTI, just waiting on lab results to ensure there are no crystals in his urine. Staff was quick, professional and very kind. Was in and out in less than 2 hours for an emergency visit. Pricing was also extremely fair compared to any other vet we have been to, especially for an emergency. Would recommend Avenue Animal Wellness to anyone! Thank y'all so much
Jul 03, 2025 · Brittney LeClairWhole staff couldn't have been kinder or more caring. They all fell in love with my puppy, who decided that the food in his big brother's bowl was actually his, with predictable results. Everything went as smoothly as possible, and the vet, Dr Doyle, went out of her way to make sure she wasn't overselling anything; they just did what was necessary, did it right, and got us on our way home, where he's healing up nicely. I overheard a couple other conversations as well, and it seemed the whole team was treating everyone, and every pet, with plenty of patience, kindness, and professionalism. While there's no such thing as a great emergency experience, the staff here made the treatment part an absolute breeze.
May 05, 2025 · David MastromatteoWe are traveling across the United States and had an emergency with our lab. They got us in right away and diagnosed his problem quickly. The doctor and vet tech were so so caring and professional. The doctor even got down on the floor to check him out and love on him. Everyone was absolutely wonderful.
