Just moved to the neighborhood and couldn’t drive to my normal vet because the car died. Brought my dog in who suddenly developed a serious skin infection with open oozy sores. They were able to get us a next-day appointment, which I appreciated.Reception and waiting area is nice and they have a whiteboard where they write all the pets names who will be visiting that day. But there is only seating space for up to two sets of people + their pets. When they called us back, the triage person did not speak to me or let me know who she was until I broke the ice in the exam room. When the vet did arrive, she offered no suggestions as to what it may be, but proposed two very expensive tests which “may or may not provide results” and they have no idea when the results will come back, maybe a week but there is no guarantee. She barely looked at my dog and went over pricing most of the time. I decided on a test and that meant they had to take a sample. The vet did not wear gloves when she took samples from my dog’s open sores. My dog is very squirmy so I typically need to help hold her in place, but when I tried to explain this they asked me to sit down. 30 seconds later they asked me for help. They did not clean or dress the sores. The veterinarian did not conduct a physical exam on my dog nor take her temperature.I have never been to a vet before where they skipped the physical and other intake procedures when seeing any pet for the first time. Especially when the dog is clearly unwell. You can even see on the invoice (picture attached) where they charged me the full rate for the new patient exam, but this exam never happened. Nor did they ask for a fecal sample, which my previous vets have always asked me for. Seems like not much care is given and I feel that I should be refunded. They sold me an antibiotic and a steroid for my dog. When I arrived home, I found my dog had developed two new sores, on two of her feet. The vet would have noticed them if she had conducted a routine physical exam. The visit cost me almost $400. Overall, I was taken aback the lack of professionalism and hygiene. Looking forward to hearing back about any results but I will be going back to my old vet. - Olivia Brinich
