The Pet Mechanic Fishtown Reviews
We have been coming to Pet Mechanic for years. Beginning with our cats and then adding our two special pitties to the family. Dr foley and the entire pet mechanic team is always accommodating (especially with anxious and reactive dogs) and really listens to you. They have taken such good care of our animals. Even as recently as this week - I drove 2 hours to have my dog treated here because I trust them. Dr Foley was compassionate and supportive through it all. I can’t recommend them enough. The pictures attached were even sent to me by the vet tech ❤️🥹
Jan 10, 2025 · Shana JonesI never been to a place that was caring and so understanding when I had to put my fur baby down after 20 years they make you feel so comfortable and the room is like you’re in your own house saying goodbye to your fur baby it’s a very good place to go to and they’re very caring with animals
Jun 27, 2025 · Tina FoxUsed to visit the South St location before they closed, but this location is just as wonderful. Everyone is always so pleasant and responsive! Doctors and techs show a tremendous amount of care and respect for my baby, who I know can be difficult at times. They have high standards for hiring and it shows - everyone is truly wonderful here. Thank you for going above and beyond for my girl!
Jan 30, 2025 · Marisa SirkinNeeded a new vet that was closer to our new place in Fishtown. They were able to get me scheduled pretty quickly to check out our dog. Front office was super nice and able to get account set up. Tech was very friendly and kind to our dog. I feel asked all the right questions. Doctor came in and he was extremely good with our dog. She doesn’t really let anyone she doesn’t know pick her up and she probably would have went home with him haha. Pricing was very fair and reasonable too for a check up and anal gland expression. Found our new vet.
Mar 17, 2025 · Alexander TrunkLet me start by saying the people who work here are absolutely wonderful, which is why I gave them two stars. I've been going to Pet Mechanic for years with no issues. Since they changed ownership it seems that their SOP is to create policies that nickel and dime their clients to increase profits. Let me give you an example. Several years ago, my dog was on Proin a prescription that they recommended and refilled with no problem. I decided to try another medication for a few years. Two months ago, I took my dog back to them for a check up and they gave me a new prescription for Proin. I used it for two months and when I requested a refill, they made me come back in because according to them, my dog needed a blood pressure checked before they could refill. (I have had four dogs treated at Pet Mechanic and never once have I had to bring my dog in for a blood pressure check regardless of how old they were). The visit cost me $35 for the visit, $55 for the blood pressure check and $60 or so for the prescription which would have been a lot cheaper someplace else but they wouldn't refill my prescription. Ugh.And just in case you're wondering, this is not a one off. A few months ago they made me bring in my 17-year-old dog to have blood work done before they would refill his heart medication. Again, this was a medication that they prescribed. When I asked why it was necessary, they told me they needed to do bloodwork to make sure his kidneys weren't failing. Seriously ....when you're in the last stages of heart failure is it really necessary to check your kidneys?!!!!
