Avian & Exotic Philly Vet Medical Surgical Clinic Reviews
Dr. Tyson is the absolute best exotics vet we've ever had. After moving 400 miles away from Philly for work, we--no kidding--still do virtual appointments with her because she's THAT good with bunnies. Beyond her excellent care for your pet, she also spends time with the humans educating you on what to look out for healthwise. Five stars aren’t enough to do this review justice.
Jan 29, 2025 · Alex McAvoyHighly recommend for bird owners!! I have a unique situation with a 3 week old baby bourke parakeet and they were incredibly helpful and kind throughout the whole visit. I am amazed by the care they gave and how knowledgeable they were. It’s difficult finding avian vets, but I don’t mind making the long drive to come here for great care! Everyone was so inviting and reassuring. Thank you so much to the whole team/staff.
Jun 13, 2025 · Aubrey AndersonToday was the hardest day we had as a reptile family. Our sweet boy Raspberry became very ill and the staff here was so kind and supportive while we processed the news. Although our little chameleon won't be returning home, I'm at peace knowing his transition was in the loving hands of this office.
Jul 01, 2025 · Kia WilsonI cannot recommend Dr. Tyson enough! She is knowledgeable, kind, and dedicated to her patients in a way I think very few vets are.We keep pet rats, and Dr. Tyson has been so great to them. She always gives them snuggles and takes pictures together when I bring them in.About a week ago, one of our girls went into respiratory distress and I brought her in for help. They made time for me for a same-day appointment and gave our little Pancake oxygen support. As the day came to a close, our girl still needed oxygen, and would need to be admitted to a hospital overnight, costing us a small fortune. Instead of sending us to the hospital, Dr. Tyson helped us find an oxygen condenser for ourselves and waited in the office long after it closed so that we could take Pancake home instead. She stayed well after dinner time on a Friday evening just to be kind.Especially for pocket pets, and rats in particular, I think people are not always able or willing to see them as quite as important as cats or dogs. Having a vet who really went out of her way in a moment where we needed help made all the difference. I will always be grateful to Dr. Tyson for her kindness and support that day. If you've got a bird or a pocket pet- run, don't walk, to this practice!
Feb 17, 2025 · Kendyl KeeseyWould 100% recommend Avian & Exotic to any and all bird owners. I brought my two budgies for a check up and blood work and they were so kind and professional, taking the time to walk me through everything they were doing and why. I learned so much! Feeling very lucky to have such an excellent clinic right in Philly.
