Quarryville Veterinary Center has several features and highlights that are important for Pennsylvania pet owners to consider, particularly based on customer feedback:
- Compassionate Support During Difficult Times (Positive Instance): One highlight is the experience of Dr. Potter and her team providing "very supportive" and "understanding" care during the difficult decision of putting down a cat with cancer. This demonstrates their capacity for empathy and clear communication in highly sensitive situations. The family felt informed and supported "from start to finish," which is crucial during such emotional moments.
- Dedication to Pet Health: The primary function of any veterinary center is to maintain and restore pet health, and based on the positive review, the team is dedicated to their patients' well-being.
- Professional Team: The "compassionate crew" mentioned in a positive review indicates a team that works together to provide care and support to both pets and their owners.
- Areas for Improvement in Sensitive Situations (Negative Instance): It's important to acknowledge a specific negative review that highlights a deeply distressing experience during the euthanasia and post-euthanasia handling of a pet. This instance involved a lack of respectful handling of the pet's remains and a perceived lack of follow-up communication from the office, which caused significant heartbreak. This feedback points to the critical importance of consistent and respectful procedures, especially during end-of-life care, and robust client communication.
- Client Communication Variances: While one review praises being "kept informed," another describes difficulty receiving a call back to discuss a serious concern. This suggests that communication experiences can vary and might be an area for potential clients to clarify.
These varied experiences suggest that while the center is capable of providing compassionate and supportive care, especially during challenging times, there may be inconsistencies in service delivery or follow-up communication that prospective clients should be aware of.

Quarryville Veterinary Center Reviews
Just wanted to let everyone know that Dr. Potter and her team were very supportive of my daughter Teresa and I. Today we had to put down our cat Murphy. The little guy had cancer. From start to finish the team was supportive and Dr. Potter was understanding and kept us informed Throughout the process. Thank you for this compassionate crew. God bless them.
Jun 06, 2025 · CarlFirst I want to say I did call the office several times before I wrote this review. I also waited a week for a call back to discuss this matter with Dr. Potter and I did not receive a call back.On May 5th we made the very difficult decision to put our 10 year old Great Dane Shammah down. He was in a lot of pain and unable to walk. Our normal vet did not have any openings so we needed to find an alternate vet. I trusted that Dr. Potters office would do a good job. I WAS WRONG!! After making the difficult decision and being so upset we decided as a family that it would be best for my husband and son take Shammah so my last moments with Shammah were good. All went well until after our dog passed away. My husband and son had to try and fit our dog in a plastic bag while the vet helper was dropping my dogs head on the ground in the process... Then they were asked to carry our dog to the freezer!!!! THIS IS THE LAST MEMORIES they have of our dog. This breaks my heart that our last memories of our beloved dog are far from peaceful. I would not recommend this establishment. Again, I tried to talk with them to make this right they decided I did not deserve a call back. I really am just trying to save the next family the heartbreak we faced.
