So, what makes Banfield Pet Hospital worth choosing for your furry family members? For many in the Houston area, the decision comes down to a few key factors. One of the most significant is their emphasis on preventive care. Their Optimum Wellness Plans are a popular choice, as they provide a structured way to manage routine care, vaccinations, and other essential services throughout the year, often at a predictable monthly cost. This takes the guesswork out of pet health management and helps owners stay on top of their animal's needs. Pet owners often find peace of mind in knowing they have a long-term partner in their pet’s health journey.
Customer feedback, while varied, provides some valuable insights. One pet owner highlighted their positive experience, noting how the staff at this location welcomed their "difficult cat with care" after transferring from another location. They mentioned the staff's professionalism and their ability to address concerns appropriately without trying to "sell" them unnecessary services. This positive sentiment underscores the importance of the human-animal bond and the trust that is built between a pet owner and their veterinary team. The feeling that your pet is "well taken care of" is a powerful motivator for choosing a particular practice. Another review, however, expressed a negative experience, describing the clinic as a "money-making scheme" and citing rude staff and a manipulative approach to diagnoses. This serves as a reminder that individual experiences can vary, and it's always wise to form your own opinion based on your specific interactions with the staff and veterinarian. However, the recurring theme in many positive reviews for Banfield as a whole is their convenience, wide range of services, and the value of their wellness plans. For many, the ability to have a one-stop-shop for a wide variety of pet health needs, from routine check-ups to more serious procedures, is a major draw. The extensive list of services—from general dentistry and surgery to specialized diagnostics like digital radiography and ultrasonography—shows a commitment to being a full-service provider. Ultimately, for residents of Houston looking for a vet that offers a wide scope of services with a focus on preventive health and convenience, Banfield Pet Hospital on Katy Fwy presents a compelling option to consider for their pet’s ongoing care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I just transferred from another location that closed and they have welcomed my difficult cat with care. I have had nothing but positive & welcoming experiences by the entire staff. I’ve not met the veterinarian but they seem to care & address all my concerns appropriately - they have never tried to sell me anything above & beyond the reason for my visit. I hope to form a good relationship with the team. It is important to not only know but “feel” that my pets are well take care of. Thank you for all you do - never lose the reason you chose this line of work - your love of animals!
July 01 · Diana SepulvedaStay away from this hospital if you can. It feels more like a money-making scheme than a place that cares for your pet. Right from the start, the staff are rude and seem like they don't want to work there. The front desk person is especially unhelpful, sighing about her job and leaving you waiting on hold for forever. The biggest issue is Dr. Wills. She doesn’t have a clue about what she’s doing and gave a confusing evaluation of my pet’s health. She made it sound like my pet was about to die, which was just plain manipulation. They play on your feelings for your pet to push you into spending on treatments and meds that are more about their profits than helping your animal. It gets worse. Once you agree to the treatment, suddenly things don't seem as bad anymore, they've already got your money. This place is not looking out for you or your pet. Their approach is all about guilt, their diagnoses are often sketchy, and customer service is pretty rude. Don’t trust them with your pet or your cash.
June 25 · Alondra BI believe this was the worse service ever after waiting more than one out from our scheduled appointments. There was never an apology from the vet other than the assistant letting us known vet was running late a few minutes to my schedule appointment. I’m am completely disappointed how my last 3 appointments my pets and I have waited each time forever than 30 minutes and more. It makes me very upset since both of them have anxiety from the wait. There should always be a vet ready to see the fur babies within 15 minutes of arrival time.
June 18 · Rose BracherOn February 24, I brought my 2 month old puppy Sasha for her first appointment. I waited over an hour but tried to be positive.Previously, the breeder had given her the first round of vaccines. Dr Rollerson mentioned those vaccines were not the same and that we should start over. Sasha was given 2 vaccines that day. Later that day, she could barely stand and was extremely lethargic. I was told this was normal. Sasha passed away some hours later.Do NOT bring your pet here. These people do not care about you or your pet. I couldn't be more devastated.
February 25 · Melisa NocioniStay away from banfield as a whole not just this location. I had both of my boths on a wellness plan & did not renew because I got of them continuously trying to do money grabs from me for extra services. Getting their monthly heartworm meds is such a pain. Everything I called to get them i was told either "sorry we are out" or "we have them but its 1st come first serve & we can't hold them for you". It takes me 30 minutes to get to them & it never failed i would get there & be told they had just given out the last they had. If you know you are always running out of a medication, common sense says to order more & keep more in stock. I've tried to get them to send vet records out to my insurance company & other vets & guaranteed they would only send 1 set of info not both. Now im trying to get a copy of they boys' neuter certificates & being told they can't email it & I have to come to the store to pick them up. Like this is 2025 how the F can you not email a document? Seriously tho. There is also a problem of them putting one on hold & never picking up again. When you are in the office you can't even get service because no one is at the desk.I've started using a mobile vet & it was still cheaper than bringing them here!
